The Washington Post headline read this way: How Tucker Carlson became the voice of White grievance As Ronald Reagan might say, there goes the left-wing media again. When a conservative media figure arises with a sizable audience of millions of Americans, one can bet that, like clockwork, the Post or some other lefty journal or network will indignantly smear the target of the moment as racist, sexist, homophobic, Islamophobic, etc. This kind of racket has appeared since the late William F. Buckley Jr. burst on the national scene with his bestselling book God and Man at Yale, way back in 1951 — a full 70 years ago. The young whippersnapper Buckley —

Liz Cheney (R-WY), so you already know how biased it was going to be, stacked with anti-Trump people. It was already stacked, with Democrats having eight choices for members and Republicans only getting five. But when Republicans announced their choices for the Commission, Pelosi vetoed two of them: Rep. Could 23-year-old college graduate Karoline Leavitt be the Republican version of AOC? U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., was the youngest member of Congress when first elected to Congress in 2018, having defeated a top-ranked Democrat in the primary before winning in the general. Leavitt is running against two-term U.S. Rep. Chris Pappas, D-N.H., and should she prevail, she would be 25 when she takes office — the Constitution requires members to be at least 25. Her plan to defeat Pappas is to run against President Biden’s policies and what she calls the “tyrannical … corruption” of New York’s Gov. Andrew Cuomo, the New York Post reported.

The House’s select committee investigating the Jan. 6 insurrection is likely to encompass more than a violent Capitol riot. It’s shaping up to be Congress’ final word on national-security breakdowns that led to the attack — and how much those failures are tied to Donald Trump. With a few exceptions, congressional oversight of the former president and his administration is effectively moot. But Democratic leaders expect that the select panel, whose work began in earnest this month, will turn up troubling new details of Trump’s behavior as he championed an effort to overturn President Joe Biden’s 2020 election victory.
