President Joe Biden’s administration is weighing the idea of more mask mandates for Americans during the coronavirus pandemic — even if they are vaccinated, according to a report published Wednesday.
Details of the masking discussions were reported by the Washington Post.
The White House is weighing these options as the “Delta variant” of the virus is spreading, even among the vaccinated.
The report noted that federal health officials are considering whether they would update masking guidance, asking all Americans to wear masks indoors in public places.
The White House would likely face strong pushback from vaccinated Americans

We’ve all seen this before, as has every leader of every country in the world. A sitting President of the United States cannot put together a coherent answer to a simple question. (snip) Asked an unchallenging question of 12-year-olds and vaccination, he drifted off in the middle of a sentence, and, as he so often does, looked down, got that Deliverance banjo player look on his face, and appeared to be listening to something in his earpiece, and then strung together a sequence of words that were not grammatically related to the rest of the sentence, but which, on their own, were coherent.

They won’t be the Cleveland Baseball Team.
After months of speculation and internal discussion, the Cleveland Indians announced on Friday that they will be changing their team name to the Cleveland Guardians. The change is set to take place following the 2021 season. The franchise originally announced its intention to shed the “Indians” nickname in December, acknowledging that the moniker is offensive and insensitive to indigenous peoples. Cleveland’s MLB team has been known as the Indians since 1915.

President Joe Biden said he asks Secret Service agents to keep out of his bedroom at breakfast time because he hasn't dressed yet. Biden gave some insight into his morning routine at a CNN town hall on Wednesday. He said he liked to start his days wearing his robe and eating breakfast undisturbed by his protection detail. Secret Service agents usually stay close to the president as he moves around the White House, where he lives with his wife, Jill. Asked by CNN's Don Lemon what life behind the scenes was like at the White House, Biden said the Secret

The NFL has laid out its strongest incentive yet for players to get the vaccine.
According to a memo shared on Twitter by NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the league has mandated that a game cannot be rescheduled due to a COVID-19 outbreak among unvaccinated players — and that team will be forced to forfeit, resulting “in a loss for playoff seeding.” (Snip) Additionally, if a game is canceled and cannot be rescheduled, neither team’s players will be paid for the game.
Vaccinated players who test positive can return to the team immediately after two negative tests, while unvaccinated players will be required to isolate for 10 days, according to the memo.

A group of scientists discovered ancient viruses frozen in two ice samples taken from the Tibetan Plateau in China, and most of them are unlike anything ever seen before.
The findings, published Wednesday in the journal Microbiome, came from ice cores taken in 2015 that scientists said began to freeze at least 14,400 years ago. (Snip) When researchers analyzed the ice, they found genetic codes for 33 viruses. Of the 33, genetic codes for four of them showed they are part of virus families that typically infect bacteria. Up to 28 were novel, meaning they had never before been identified.

A report published by Outside Interactive alleged that America’s historically racist policies have contributed to “the nature gap,” resulting in black Americans having less enjoyment of the so-called “great outdoors.”Erin Key, the report’s author, is pushing for minorities to use their free time outdoors in nature through the use of grants and advocacy work. She does not, however, mention that there are no modern laws prohibiting non-whites from visiting public nature sites.“Though many don’t like to speak about it, so many of our living relatives experienced racism when it was legal —

Are all those media items featuring Joe Biden eating ice cream not a diversion from the serious issues of the day but rather a coded warning?
Consider this explanation from the Alzheimer’s Association Caregiver Tips & Tools:
"Ice cream. It takes all of your worries away. (snip) And dementia (here is the best part!) allows one to fully enjoy the treat, with no concerns for calories, weight gain or dietary needs, completely guilt free! For people with dementia, ice cream is far more effective and safe than Prozac, or any other “happy” drug on the market!"

The Mississippi Attorney General on Thursday asked the Supreme Court to overturn Roe V. Wade.“The conclusion that abortion is a constitutional right has no basis in text, structure, history, or tradition” Mississippi Attorney General Lynn Fitch told the Supreme Court justices.“There are those who would like to believe that Roe v. Wade settled the issue of abortion once and for all,” Fitch said in a statement posted on her official website. “But all it did was establish a special-rules regime for abortion jurisprudence that has left these cases out of step with other Court decisions
