California Gov. Gavin Newsom says he‘s not worried about a bill meant to combat homelessness exacerbating the problem because the state embraces everyone looking for “new beginnings.” The Democrat made the comment when asked about the possible unintended consequences of signing the $12 billion AB-140 housing bill. Officials are required to “develop a framework for the California Dream For All Program, the goals of which would … [make] homeownership more affordable.” “To the extent that people want to come here for new beginnings and all income levels, that’s part of the California dream and we have a responsibility to accommodate and enliven and inspire, and the California dream

I fully agree with the OP. It would be far cheaper to the economies of cities to charter a bunch of busses, round up all the homeless, and ship them to Cubafornia!!!

New Beginnings. Not exactly the Grapes of Wrath, possibly the stupidest pronouncement by Newsom yet.

Interstate bums. Can't easily 'ride the rails' these days. How are they getting around?

California passed "the beginning of the end" stage some time ago.
I laugh every time some media or political putz calls San Diego "America's Finest City." Not the one I drive through every day.

Newsome is a total air head! He’s living on a different planet, and so are those who vote for him. They know they are wrong but won’t change because admitting it would go against the meme. Go figure!

Newsom must have seen the Polls and they say he's going to lose in this Recall. So, he's going to stick it to those who are throwing him out of Power! Not to worry though, I'm betting Biden will find a Cushy job for him in his Administration!

Gavin Newsom is not only welcoming homeless people from all over the country to move to California for a new beginning, but also homeless people from all over the world in the form of poor and uneducated illegal aliens. That shows that Newsom and the leftist and socialist Democrats who have been running California actually live in a dream world!

Great idea, OP. Though I wouldn't want the job of cleaning out those busses after they arrive. Probably best to just abandon them.

My great uncle left the farm in 1900 and went to California for a new beginning. He worked on the railroad, lost part of his leg in an accident and was in the hospital when the San Francisco earthquake hit. He lived through that, got a prosthetic leg and worked as a barber. For men like him, California was a new beginning. Now, people are beginning to come into my home state who have had enough. I don't see them voting for Governor Hair Gell if he aspires to national office.

Gonna go pitch me a tent in Beverly Hills. Load up on the free goodies during my vacation and come back home to Texas with my buddy Elon. Maybe stop by Vegas on my way home.

I moved to California after my enlistment was up. New beginning and opportunities in was touted as the Golden State.
After having my vehicle broken into several times, tires slashed, violent home invasion, forest fires, floods, earthquakes, drive by shootings and the LA riots, I left. And never looked back.
Worst 4 years of my life. I would choose chemotherapy again to avoid ever going back.

Black Rock, with their cronies, mean to totally crash coastal property, but it for next to nothing from exasperated owners, kick out the "homeless" a la that dump truck scene in Soylent Green, and then rent it back to the prior owners at exorbitant rates, with yearly increases. It's so obvious.

I'm not sure if Newsome really that stupid or if the Marxists are simply trying to destroy everything so they can implement more controls, like a national police force.

Wait, don't his environmentalist friends demand fewer people around, and less strain on the resources?
If the GOP was a little smart they'd ensure they ran that comment against every single democrat running in 2022 with the question, if X didn't support the governors comments then why didn't X denounce it?"

Years ago, Martin Sheen declared that he wanted more homeless people to come to California.
Johhny Carson asked on his show if Sheen had lost his mind.
Um, Gav, baby. They aren't coming to California for new opportunities. They are coming because you can be homeless all year round without fear of freezing winter temperatures.

Good luck trying to get any tax money out of your new residents, Gov. You’re going to need it with all the actual taxpayers leaving.

Concerned citizens in Austin on May 1st passed legislation to remove the tent dwellers from taking over underpasses and city sidewalks...
Now they are working on RE-FUNDING the police as the safety of Austin residents has been compromised by the idiot Mayor and woke socialists on the City Council.
Rather than buy up hotels to house the homeless in Texas, why not head out to Kali-fornia where they are welcomed with open arms and socialist programs???
