Bill Gates-Funded Company Releases
Genetically Modified Mosquitoes in US

Original Article

Genetically modified mosquitoes have been released for the first time in the United States as part of an experiment to combat insect-borne diseases such as Dengue fever, yellow fever, and the Zika virus. UK-based biotechnology firm Oxitec, which is funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, said it released the mosquitoes in six locations in Monroe County’s Florida Keys: two on Cudjoe Key, one on Ramrod Key, and three on Vaca Key. It’s part of an effort to help tackle a disease-transmitting invasive mosquito population—the Aedes aegypti mosquito species—that’s responsible for “virtually all mosquito-borne diseases transmitted to humans,” according to the company.

Comments:

Who gives them permission to release anything? Are they absolutely sure that these mosquitoes will not carry infections?

OP additional comment: Here is where they got permission. Apparently their stated mission is to rid the world of disease-bearing mosquitoes… EPA has approved pilot project and this article tells what it is about: https://www.oxitec.com/en/news/oxitecs-friendly-mosquito-technology-receives-us-epa-approval-for-pilot-projects-in-us

If this were a movie, releasing these genetically modified insects would be the precursor to the invasion of giant mosquitos who drain a man of all life energy in seconds and leave society in chaos. Oh, wait, it's not a movie and we already have Democrat/Marxists doing that.

FTA:"They’re expected to mate with the local biting female mosquitoes, and in doing so, they will pass on a lethal gene that will ensure their female offspring die before reaching maturity." A good idea for mosquitoes. And then for Billy Boy, a 'light bulb went on'....... Gee, could this work on people? Maybe some foreign proteins made inside your cells and then ...years later, "Oh, darn it accidentally made you sterile? That's a real shame. But, remember, we are immune from lawsuits by federal law."

This kind of thing has been done before with great success. Screw worms used to be a terrible problem here, I guess all over the U.S. Using sterilized flies, they were driven all the way down to central America by the 1980's. I haven't heard about them since. BUT, since we now live in a different country, and especially considering someone with Gate's agenda, I wouldn't trust them as far as I could throw 'em.

People are entirely missing the point. These are invasive, harmful as hell mosquitoes from the middle east, and they carry disease. IMO, this process is a legit one. But look at the process of genetic modification as a model for controlling the reproductive capability of other species.....maybe way up the food chain. And note that the effect doesn't actually occur until the maturation of the second generation. So, for some longer lived species, that could be say 25-30 years after the initial genetic changes.

Gypsy moths were an academic experiment. DDT was banned because a lesbian science writer/professor had cancer, looked for a reason for the cancer, and wrote Silent Spring. Tens of millions of Africans have died because of that book.

A Charlottesville doctor who dropped everything to attend a complicated labor, hours away, is being hailed as a hero. Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey signed a law on Friday banning voters from adding signatures on unsigned mail-in ballots after election day. The measure, Arizona Senate bill 1003 (S.B. 1003), was approved earlier in the state legislature in party-line votes. The new law codified a ruling by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit on Oct. 6, 2020, within one month of the 2020 election. It also ended disputes over unsigned mail-in ballots between the state Republicans and Democrats. Current Arizona law allows election officials to contact the voters to fix the signatures on the ballots if the signatures don’t match other signatures from records in the Department of Motor Vehicle,
