Crime, homeless encampments, riots, crime, loopy left-wing government, crime, litter, violent protests, imperious left-wing activists seeing off mainstream liberal Democrats, boarded-up shops downtown, a vicious social-media-driven politics of personal destruction, crime, crime, and crime, to say nothing of the crime — today’s Minneapolis is where Minnesota Nice turns into Minnesota Nasty.
Let’s talk about the crime first. Everybody does.

ditto NYC too now it’s nyc . Only real activity is medical visits or grocery shopping if one doesn’t get delivery . There is some semblance of inside dining , but astronomical prices are the norm .Food again an activity .OH , but at home adult beverage consumption is all time high ..watch that get more taxes from our criminal gov’t .But we are doing our best using that liquid buffer against the brutish cityopolis & it’s criminal insanity.

We're seeing a once in a lifetime shift in populations from cities that just 5 years ago were attracting new residents and downtown living. The exodus from California and cities like Portland and Seattle to places like Boise, Spokane, Cheyenne, the resort areas of Utah and Colorado, and as far as the Smokies. Most (if not all) running from the decline that they themselves voted in. Even in Denver, people are moving out of the city into the surrounding suburbs changing voting patterns in formerly conservative areas like Douglas County. The "ultra-progressive" politicians from Boulder now hold the Governor's office, the Speaker of the House, and Senate President.
I'm not optimistic.

My brother in Tennessee says they are moving into his area in droves. I hope to God they stay out of my area of Kentucky.

Sadly, many of those transplants (not all, but most) continue to vote and support the same politicians that created the demise of their former locales and extend it to their new homes.
I've always said Texas needs a border wall. Around its northern, eastern, and western boundaries.

We live in a suburb immediately North of Seattle. (we share borders). So far our city council hasn't succumbed to the madness of the Seattle city council but soon will. Last year some idiot put up a BLM sign on city hall but it was taken down after a few weeks. Seattleites are moving into my town. This week Zillow raised the value of my 3 bedroom mid-century rambler by $22,000, in one week. We should probably sell before the JoHo administration brings crime by allowing every criminal alien to move to every city, town and village in the country but that's the problem, where does on move too.

Minnesota is now the perfect place to dump illegal immigrants, more Somalis and maybe even the American prisoners that idiot democrats let out on the streets so they wouldn't catch the COVID. Every country needs a good garbage dump.

"Let us not fool ourselves - without Christianity, without Christian education, without the principles of Christ inculcated into young life, we are simply rearing pagans."
--- Peter Marshall
"The choice before us is plain, Christ or chaos, conviction or compromise, discipline or disintegration. I am rather tired of hearing about our rights and privileges as American Citizens. The time is come, it now is, when we ought to hear about the duties and responsibilities of our citizenship. America's future depends upon Her accepting and demonstrating God's Government."

So, Kevin: you and your buddies at National Review are upset at the direction the country is taking?
Not so long ago, we had a guy in the White House who could have stopped all this from happening. And you snarked on him every chance you got.
Embrace the suck, you little puke.

#9 - Perfect. Thank you.
Hard to believe that the state of Minnesota was once populated mostly by Scandinavian and German immigrants.

Many years ago, when I first heard a national radio host say, “Liberalism is a metal disease”, I laughed it off as a ratings ploy. But since then, over time, I have come to believe that truer words have never been spoken. Liberalism will act and spread just the same way a disease does. Once it infects a host city or state, it will consume all its resources, as it provides no productive benefit to the host. Eventually this will destroy the host by causing a collapse of the financial systems and social structures, leaving it in ruins. Then just like a disease, it will migrate to a healthy host city or state, where it will start its destructive cycle all over, again, until the new host is destroyed. We see this playing out all over this country as many of the previous commentors have pointed out.

Truth is, Collectivists are masterful at herding sheep. Conservatives, not so much. It takes courage to be an Individualist.
Unfortunately the sheep don't understand that they are better cared for by large groups of Individualists with biblical values, promoting sound social policies that begin with the protection of the nuclear family.

Minnesota nice is a farce, I was shocked at how rude many people were when I moved from Iowa to the Rochester area in the late '90s--for an engineering job. There are nice people, but there's something in the water up here. Kevin seems to think that the police officer present when Floyd died of an overdose needs to be charged with murder. This is insane. Anyway, elections in MN have been rigged since at least the early 2000's, it's not going to get any nicer here. Considering a move to South Dakota or Texas, maybe even back to Iowa.

LMAO (Texas) Mini-SODA. Freezing your socialist butts off. Monday is 70 degrees and I'll go for a bike ride. You Somalians can get your LIMO to the office and tell your citizens that you got them covered until May. No worries. By June it will warm up.

The insane, vicious Demonrats destroy another city. Fortunately, I have never liked cities, avoided them my whole life, never could wrap my head around why someone thought living in an apartment in a city could even remotely compare to living in suburbia or, especially on 10 or more acres in the country.
I just shrug and go on. They are destroying themselves, their homes and the place that they live and I don't really care.

The real test will be the Minnesota State Fair which draws huge crowds to an urban area. Security is generally lax and the inner-city rioters could have a field day if they decide to get violent.

There is a problem now with most big cities. We know what it is but are not allowed to discuss it at the peril of being canceled or banned. It's the biggest most gigantic elephant in the room.

Disturbing. While Minnesota politics are different, much of this is happening in California too.
