A Democratic city council member who once welcomed the “change” from socialist Seattle Mayor Katie Wilson is now admitting he is “gravely concerned” about the business exodus affecting the major American city. This comes as blue states like Washington and New York face a business exodus in favor of more market-friendly red states. Starbucks, a major player in Seattle’s business scene, recently announced a major expansion into Nashville while simultaneously cutting Seattle-based corporate jobs, a move that has intensified concerns about Seattle’s business climate and economic competitiveness. There are too many people who view wealth as an evil thing. A lot of those views stem from jealousy. God does not oppose wealth - he opposes people who put wealth before Him.

These blue state and cities that want to supper tax the very rich reminds me of the tale of the Goose That Laid the Golden Eggs. For those who have not heard the story, there was a goose that laid solid gold eggs every month. But the people of the village got greedy. They killed the goose to get all the eggs at once. But when they cut it open there were no golden eggs.

How bizzarre. One wonders if a goobernment decides to vilify a specific group and then create laws to prosecute that group, would not those most capable of leaving leave? And those that can't leave live under expanding legal persecution and enforce. Eventually leading to the total dehumanization that leads to most disgusting and vile forms of 'cleansing'. It happened once before in a very enlightened 'free' society in the 1930s. Is one witnessing history repeating itself?

Just ban billionaires from leaving NYC or Seattle. Put them in prison and just tax the hell out of them until you’ve extracted the last ounce of blood. I mean, that’s what socialists (who often then become communists) do. It’s robbery of personal life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness sanctified by the government. Holy, holy, holy is the Leftist state. But I say to hell with that!

More than anything else a city needs a thriving business community and needs laws enforced against criminals. A socialist will never do either.

Saka is a two faced liberal. When Wilson was elected, he virtue signaled about an “inclusive Seattle that uplifts working families, expands universal preschool for all, ends food deserts, and creates safer, more connected neighborhoods across our city.” Then reality hit Saka and he became “gravely concerned.” Translation, Saka is concerned he might lose his next election.

Too funny. Democrats have a history of forgetting who works for whom. They can compel and confiscate higher taxes from the producers, but that power only goes so far because businesses have the option of leaving. Why stick around and be unappreciated, demonized, and lectured on your duty to be fleeced, when you can be welcomed with open arms by moving your businesses to a friendlier state? For some reason, the commie/socialist/Marxist class expects their targets to put up with bullying when they can pick up and leave. Politicians are limited in what they can take before the businesses move on. The funny thing is, the left never sees it coming until it's too late. Saying "Bye" is probably the best way to convince a business it's time to leave.

Starbucks just laid off 61 headquarters employees and are "streamlining" their store locations there. Starbucks is an iconic and successful business, but Seattle had better make sure they do all they can to keep them. If SB leaves, others will follow and some are leaving now. The red states will benefit but, as others have said, we don't need any leftist ideas from the people who don't understand that the leftist ideas is what made them decide that they wanted to move in the first place, or they will end plucking their golden goose to death.

It's going to take a serious, "We're sorry.", from all those Communist cities in order for ANY corporate entity, once gone, to ever move back... and that's after they first roll back 90% of their punitive corporate taxes funding their socialist |benefits buffet." Good luck changing all that overnight too, of course, not having any money in the budget makes that all but a foregone conclusion. The leftist loons of the Democrat Plantation have done such damage that may literally require generations to undo. It goes to show what happens to an electorate when a large enough portion of the entitled masses have no ability to critically analyze a situation and honestly evaluate the downstream effects of potential decisions BEFORE they are made. In other words, this is happening in all the "Blue-Zones" because they long ago lost their, "Common-Sense" gene, replacing it with the "Moral Superiority" gene.

After several key Republican senators didn't vote – and another key GOP bloc defected – the war powers resolution advanced, 50-47.
