Prime Minister Carney Declares Canada’s
“Relationship with America is Over”

Original Article

Canada Prime Minister Mark Carney delivers a speech to the nation notifying the Canadian people that the era of an economic and military collaborative relationship between the United States and Canada is over. As the majority of Canadians cheer, the Prime Minister said that Canada as a free independent and sovereign nation will now embrace its connections to the United Kingdon and European Union and seek to replace their national dependency on the United States by severing ties in North America and entering a new era of close relations with Great Britain and Europe.

Comments:

What relationship would that be? When asked to secure their border and stop flow of Chinese fentanyl they refused. Cutting off noses to spite their weak faces?

Lol, Canada military? Uh sure ok pal. You're still going to hide under our shield. Economics? Ok, great, you can close the border and ship everything to/from the rest of the world. That'll be a lot cheaper than just dropping the tariffs your country has imposed on US goods for generations. What a horrible liar and intellectually dishonest person.

Well, if the Canadians intend to rely upon the military super-powers that are France and the UK, then we should plan *now* to see lots of Russians and Chinese on that side of the border in the coming years. And they will be up to no good. Closing and militarizing a 3,000 mile long border sure isn't my choice, but if Canadians fall for appeals to moronic jingoism, then they deserve all the Russians and Chinese they're going to get... and we'll need to double up our order for wall-building materials. Folks along the Mediterranean coast in France will also need to brace for an invasion of fat English-speaking people during the summers. Note to my friends in France: Those will be Canadians, *not* Americans.

I went to Canada when I was 10. In Ontario is was like being in America. In Quebec they were aloof French people who refused to speak English. I went back to Ontario in 1983, and they weren’t very nice there by then. Prices on almost everything were high, gas was 50% tax, and it wasn’t any fun there. Have not been back since. Too bad- it could be a wonderful relationship.

#12: I was last there in May of 1993, in Toronto for some MLB games involving the Blue Jays. It was a road trip with two other guys starting from the DC area. We weren't treated badly in Toronto and the only hassle we got was at the border crossing, where the Canadian government had just begun demanding that all Americans visiting Canada carry passports. (Before that time, passports were never necessary to cross the border either way.) So I have nothing but crocodile tears for present-day Canadians who are being hassled about travel requirements to the US. Canada started this non-sense, and it started a long time ago. If Canada decides to go the way Carney wants, the Blue Jays will have to relocate somewhere in the US. Anybody want to put in a bid for an MLB team? Tip: You only need to bid 69 cents on the dollar... you can get it cheaply!
