We Can Cure Democracy, But Can We Cure Stupid?

After four long years during which our democracy was under constant peril, one might say the November election cured that crisis, at least for now, returning the American voter and American values to center stage. Zealots of the Left, however, continue their tired chorus of accusation and cancellation. It is staggering how blind to election results and deaf to the voices of voters they seem to be. Wokeness may be in retreat but this core cadre, still including many in legacy media, continue their ranting about existential threats and trying to shame us into shedding crocodile tears over illegals. They have doubled down on their playbook even though

Excellent points. We spend a lot of time trying to figure out what the Left is saying, what they want but we are wasting our time. They are stupid and corrupt and we shouldn't waste any more time on them. We should shove them aside and focus on rebuilding our country. While there is a lot of cleanup yet to be done, especially in the judiciary, competence and success will win the day.

“ It is staggering how blind to election results and deaf to the voices of voters they seem to be.” I read this and realized this is the perfect explanation: communists may be “blind to the voices of voters.” But it’s only because they are blind in their quest to getting, and keeping, power. Nothing will stand in their way for domination over the masses.

We can try. And in fact, PDJT is doing the right thing to get started by dismantling the Dept. of Education. SAT scores peaked in this country in the year 1968. In the 1970s, when I was a kid going through the public school system, average SATs started a downward trend year-over-year. Jimmuh Carter seized upon this as a big national issue in 1976, with a pledge to fix it by creating a separate Department of Education. The results actually came in quite quickly: A soft slope down the average score turned into a cliff drop. President Reagan ran on getting rid of the Department, but then couldn't because Democrats controlled Congress Successive presidents either gave the idea lip service at best, or shoveled more money to the NEA and AFT along with a stranglehold on the public school education curricula, which was the only practical effect of the creation of the department. Get rid of it, send the decision-making authority back to the states, and we can be sure that educational results will improve across the board. And as a bonus, we'll see a lot less of Randi Weingarten going forward. Get it done, Congress...

A small voice from the hinterlands: Why is it that almost every article and comment in Lucianne continues the use of "democracy" instead of "Republic"? You all know the difference, and I think it's vital that we don't fall for a seriously bad habit.

Donald Trump's 2024 election victory over Kamala Harris is one of the better things that has happened in our nation for some time, and all of the various benefits of that win are still making themselves known. One of the areas in which Americans will benefit from this is in energy, and in Alaska, that benefit will be felt not only in reduced energy prices, but in jobs. Alaska's economy depends in large part on mining and energy development, and on the North Slope, where many of Alaska's Native communities are found, as much as 95 percent of the local economies are dependent on oil and gas development. Quite the statement, eh? Let me explain. I’m well into my 60s and for my entire adult life I’ve heard that public school teachers are underpaid. It has been repeated as a mantra for decades. Ignoring for a moment whether it is true or not -- and the answer to that is generally, it depends -- let’s accept the mantra and analyze why public-school teachers are still underpaid after all these years. It’s not spending. As most voters know, it seems that every stinking year there is some ballot initiative or measure or legislative move to increase spending for our woefully underfunded public-school systems. It never seems to end.

The group reportedly discussed classified details of upcoming attacks against the armed terror group. Someone accidentally looped in Jeffrey Goldberg, editor of "The Atlantic," into the chat. I guess that someone told him that the teachers' pension plan has money in the new "evil" Tesla. Remember when something similar happened to Hillary Clinton years ago? The modern Disney Co. shouldn’t have remade “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” — it has lost the innovative genius, the artistry, and the appreciation for Western classics that made Walt Disney’s original film one of the most iconic and beloved movies of all time. Yes, I know, everyone is tired of hearing about Rachel Zegler, the Wokest of Them All, but since the original Snow White (still one of the highest grossing films of all time) is a personal favorite of mine and it’s the weekend, let’s examine what used to make Disney movies great,

Later that decade, some drug companies began giving the general public more direct access to the information, according to the FDA, leading to the advertising that we see on TV today.
