Democrats' Biggest Problem Is Their Voting Base

I think we can all agree that the Democratic Party is in deep trouble. Whatever poll you look at, the results are the same: approval for the Party is in the mid-to-high 20s, with ordinary voters disgusted by their antics and their bizarre priorities and values. Admittedly, many Democratic Party elected officials are genuinely ideologically captured--cultural or even economic Marxists who believe that the West needs to be destroyed, that children need to be sterilized and mutilated, and that the primary role of government is putting dollars into the pockets of Leftist lunatics. The people who get nervous are the same ones that helped lead us into 4 years of Biden hell. They supported Biden because he was "Good old Joe from Scranton" and Trump was a lightning rod for the Left. They played it safe and we all paid for it. The dems played them and they fell for it. Trump is "dragging us" into doing things because Trump KNOWS that success will lock MAGA government into place for quite a while, and send the hapless dems wandering in the wilderness. He also knows the sooner the "nervous people" see results the sooner they will calm down, hopefully before the midterms. Trump also knows the enormous inertia that has built up in Washington, all designed to maintain the status quo that is killing America. Hitting the entrenched bureaucracy hard, fast, and continually is the most likely way to win and get things straightened out. The amount of screaming coming from dems, bureaucrats, and the Leftist judiciary proves that Trump is being successful.

Policing as Public Health 2 replies

Twenty-first-century policymakers profess a deep commitment to “public health,” and they now apply the concept to the problem of violent crime in cities. When Joe Biden took office as president in 2021, for example, he promoted the adoption of public-health interventions to address an uptick of murders; last June, U.S. Surgeon General Vivek Murthy declared gun violence a public-health crisis. These initiatives may be well-intentioned, but they ignore a hard truth. Police departments play a critical role in controlling violent crime and should be part of the public-health approach. Advocates of such an approach to crime tend to be reluctant to engage the

The White House said Russia and Ukraine have both agreed to "eliminate the use of force" in the Black Sea following talks in Saudi Arabia, a sign of progress toward the war-ending peace deal that U.S. President Donald Trump is seeking to secure. In two separate statements on the outcomes of the talks between the sides, the White House said Moscow and Kyiv had "agreed to ensure safe navigation, eliminate the use of force, and prevent the use of commercial vessels for military purposes in the Black Sea." Moreover, the United States "will help restore Russia's access to the world market for agricultural and fertilizer exports, lower

Having lost the White House and being in the minority in both chambers of Congress, Democrats are leveraging their expansive network of left-wing district court judges to sabotage the implementation of President Donald Trump’s agenda. In a single day this week, district court judges issued rulings blocking Trump’s executive order banning transgender individuals from enlisting or serving in the military, determined that dismantling the U.S. Agency for International Development by Elon Musk and the Department of Government Efficiency likely violated the Constitution, demanded the Trump administration provide details about flights transporting alleged Venezuelan gang members to El Salvador on Saturday, and ordered the reinstatement of Department of Education grants

In February, Vice President J.D. Vance surprised many at the Munich Security Conference by raising concerns about the erosion of democratic values among our allies. He explicitly stated, “In Britain and across Europe, free speech, I fear, is in retreat.” This caused no small amount of consternation on both sides of the Atlantic, but it clearly needed to be said. Even as American voters decisively returned free speech advocates to the Presidency, Senate and House of Representatives — the European Parliament passed and the EU is expeditiously implementing troubling censorship laws such as the Digital Services Act (DSA).

As of March 15, at least 46 federal court decisions involving Donald Trump's agenda or Elon Musk's Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) have at least temporarily paused some of these initiatives. There's a logjam of cases making their way from lower courts to the Supreme Court, where the fate of most of those initiatives will be decided. Trump knew that federal courts, with few exceptions, would oppose him. Most of the judges were appointed by Joe Biden and Barack Obama, and the cases have been filed in left-friendly districts like Boston, Maryland, Seattle, and Washington, D.C. More than 160 lawsuits have been filed,

TURTLE CREEK, Pennsylvania — When Joe Mastrangelo joined the fledgling Eos Energy Storage in 2018 in Western Pennsylvania’s Mon Valley, he said the plan was to build the batteries in China and ship them back to the United States. “That quickly changed to us moving all of the manufacturing back to the United States because it would be easier for us to scale up production. We ended up building a whole supply base to the point where 90% of the product made here comes from the United States,” he said.Mastrangelo is standing in the middle of one of the buildings in the massive 92-acre

In June 2021, Jon Stewart appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and ridiculed people that dismissed the possibility of a lab leak origin for Covid. He quipped: “Oh my God! There’s been an outbreak of chocolatey goodness near Hershey, Pennsylvania. What do you think happened? ‘Oh, I don’t know, maybe a steam shovel mated with a cocoa bean.’ Or it’s the f---- chocolate factory! Maybe that’s it.” At the time, former CBS News anchor Dan Rather called Stewart’s rhetoric “dangerous and short-sighted.” Washington Post columnist Paul Waldman fumed that “celebrities” shouldn’t be considered reliable sources of information and Forbes rounded up viewers uncomfortable with Stewart’s words.

If you have had difficulty finding some reason to support the Democratic Party and its increasingly bizarre policy positions, you are not alone. Two national polls released on Sunday reveal that the party’s favorability ratings have plunged to catastrophic lows. According to a new NBC News survey, just 27 percent of registered voters hold a positive view of the Democratic Party — its lowest rating since 1990. Likewise, a new CNN poll indicates that only 29 percent of U.S. adults regard the party favorably — a low not seen since 1992. These polls confirm an equally ominous Quinnipiac survey conducted last month.

Instead, as Politico laments, they were just warming up:President Donald Trump’s week was poised to be bruising. The Democrats have become and remain today a “Brahmin Left” party. “Brahmin Left” is a term coined by economist Thomas Piketty and colleagues to characterize Western left parties increasingly bereft of working-class voters and increasingly dominated by highly educated voters and elites, including of course our own Democratic Party. The Brahmin Left character of the party has evolved over many decades but spiked in the 21st century. The chart below illustrates this trend.

As Robert F. Kennedy Jr. settles into his role as President Donald Trump’s health secretary, one major promise he’s made is still on table - banning pharmaceutical ads. Kennedy has been a longtime critic of the promotion of drugs on TV, and others high up in Trump’s cabinet and advisorship have agreed in recent months. Drug advertising on TV The backstory: Up until the mid-1980s, pharmaceutical companies gave information about their products only to doctors and pharmacists. Later that decade, some drug companies began giving the general public more direct access to the information, according to the FDA, leading to the advertising that we see on TV today.
