On illegal immigration, it’s Trump filing
the lawsuits

One of the main themes of resistance to the not-yet-1-month-old administration of President Donald Trump is the reliance on lawsuits (often filed with friendly judges) as the president’s adversaries try to kneecap his policy initiatives. So far, the court strategy has had a lot of at least temporary success because we have seen one injunction after another ordering the Trump administration to stop doing this or that. Now Trump is fighting back with some lawsuits of his own on the critical issue of illegal immigration. In the past week, the Justice Department has filed suits against the city of Chicago and the state of Illinois

Would this explain a few things? You bet! As for me, though, I prefer Hanlon's Razor in these moments. James Carville made some news last night on a podcast with Al Hunt, lamenting the inability of Democrats to organize any effective opposition to Donald Trump. Trump's flood-the-zone strategy for the first weeks back in the Oval Office has Democrats floundering, even someone as experienced as Carville. "We're getting overwhelmed," he told Hunt, and "it's all too incomprehensible."

FT. WAYNE, Ind. — Sitting here at the bar/restaurant at the Ft. Wayne Hilton, a nice Midwest hotel located across the street from the gorgeous Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, I was forced to do something I don’t usually do. Watch CNN. Some rogue from hotel management decided to hold customers hostage to CNN that evening in this deeply Republican state. Not that long ago, I frequently watched CNN. It was a reliable, respectable news outlet. Liberal but serious. But sadly, the unfortunate folks at CNN went full Trump Derangement Syndrome circa 2017.

State attorneys general of nearly half the country have signed a secret resistance pact against a key facet of President Donald Trump’s immigration policy, according to The Heritage Foundation’s Oversight Project. “Of all the things in the world they could have picked — gas, groceries, protecting minorities, making sure kids can get their genitals chopped off, whatever else they claim is their top priority — instead, it’s birthright citizenship,” Mike Howell, executive director of The Oversight Project, told The Federalist. “It shows that the border policies were always political.”

Cellphone usage has exploded in the 21st century, and schools have implemented a variety of regulations to control students being on the devices, but now, bans are sweeping the country. The use of cellphones in schools has only grown, and for teachers, it has become a significant problem. As lawmakers push forward laws empowering teachers and school administrators to restrict cellphone use in the classroom, here is why they are being supported and where they’re being implemented.Various research has led to the push for cellphone restrictions in schools, raising the alarm about how the devices distract from students’ learning in classrooms. A fall 2023 Pew Research survey found that 72%

President Trump said Wednesday that he spoke with Russian President Vladimir Putin and directed members of his national security team to "immediately" begin negotiations aimed at ending Russia's war with Ukraine. The call between Mr. Trump and Putin is the first known conversation between the two since the president returned to the White House for a second term. It comes a day after Russia released Pennsylvania schoolteacher Marc Fogel, who was serving a 14-year sentence and was designated as wrongfully detained late last year. "I just had a lengthy and highly productive phone call with President Vladimir Putin of Russia," the president wrote on Truth Social

During his bid to reclaim the White House, President Trump pledged to pare down the federal government and said Elon Musk would play a role in that effort. The Democrats evidently expected this project to go the way of the ineffectual Simpson-Bowles and Grace Commissions. Consequently, they were less than pleased when Trump rebranded the United States Digital Service (USDS) as the United States DOGE Service and promptly sicced it on the bureaucratic leviathan. The public differs with the Democrats, however. According to Newsweek, a recent Reuters/Ipsos poll found that “61 percent of U.S. adults support Trump’s plan to downsize the federal government.”

The Democratic Party is polling about 31 percent approval, a near-historic low. Despite enjoying a huge lead in fundraising, legacy media favoritism, and incumbency, in the 2024 election, Democrats lost the White House to Donald Trump. Ever since, they have offered nothing new, no novel agenda, no innovative policies—nothing other than screaming that they are loudly against everything and anything that the president is for. In the past, what did they accomplish by following their prior two impeachments with attempts to de-ballot Trump?

In 2007, Al Gore was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for simply talking about climate change. Now, the person who has arguably prevented more climate change than anyone else who preaches about climate change, Elon Musk, has been nominated for the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize. Some may assume the Peace Prize is usually given to someone who directly prevents or ends war, such as Theodore Roosevelt and Jimmy Carter, who were instrumental in resolving conflicts like the Russo-Japanese War and the Egypt-Israel peace process.

In a clear display of political bias, celebrities recently canceled multiple performances at the Kennedy Center in protest of President Donald Trump. Once celebrated for its commitment to artistic expression, this arts institution has allowed partisan politics to shape its programming decisions. Trump’s shakeup, in which he ousted 18 members of the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts board and replaced them with a Trump-aligned majority, has made left-wing crybabies spiral into a black hole and flee the Washington, D.C. institution.

A bombshell report has exposed that more than $151 million meant to feed soldiers at 11 of the Army’s largest bases was repurposed for undisclosed uses. This revelation, first reported by Steve Beynon of Military.com, comes as junior enlisted soldiers struggle to access nutritious food on base, with some being forced to survive on substandard meals. The funds in question are deducted directly from service members’ Basic Allowance for Subsistence (BAS), a monthly $460 allotment meant to cover food costs for soldiers living in barracks.

President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine, during a closed-door meeting on Wednesday, rejected an offer by the Trump administration to relinquish half of the country’s mineral resources in exchange for U.S. support, according to five people briefed on the proposal or with direct knowledge of the talks. The unusual deal would have granted the United States a 50 percent interest in all of Ukraine’s mineral resources, including graphite, lithium and uranium, as compensation for past and future support in Kyiv’s war effort against Russian invaders, according to two European officials. A Ukrainian official and an energy expert briefed on the proposal said that the Trump administration also sought Ukrainian energy resources.

Federal District Judge Tanya Chutkan is poised to issue a temporary restraining order that would block nearly everyone in the Trump administration from accessing any data produced by any federal agency or dismissing any federal or contract workers. The order comes in response to a suit filed by 13 states — New Mexico, Arizona, Michigan, California, Connecticut, Hawaii, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Nevada, Oregon, Vermont, and Washington — claiming "that President Trump has violated the Appointments Clause of the United States Constitution by creating a new federal Department without Congressional approval and by granting Musk sweeping powers over the entire federal government without seeking the advice and consent of the Senate."

Canadian hockey fans booed “The Star-Spangled Banner” — setting off a brawl-filled game that ended with a US win Saturday night. The game of the NHL-run 4 Nations Face-Off tournament could have been mistaken for a boxing event — with three fist fights breaking out between American and Canadian players following the widespread booing of the US national anthem by over 20,000 angry fans. As soon as the singer, Royal Canadian Air Force member David Grenon, began belting, “Oh, say, can you see,” the crowd at the Bell Centre in Montreal let out an aggressive and booming chorus of boos that nearly drowned out the anthem entirely.

The Gaza strip is still home to “hundreds of miles” of Hamas terror tunnels — and it could take years to eliminate them and vanquish the terrorist organization, Israel’s consul-general revealed to The Post. “It will take time,” Ofir Akunis said during a sitdown this week. “We can stop [the war] after Hamas is not there — maybe it will take another year or two years.” “It took six years, six years for the Western world, to defeat Germany,’ Akunis noted. Should hostilities resume, the war would “look different” than the last 15 months of fighting, Akunis said, declining to elaborate.

However, it was previously reported that Jack Smith’s prosecutors sought legal counsel from high-powered DC law firms as Trump’s new DOJ was set to take over. MSNBC host Rachel Maddow has once again found herself in hot water after making false claims about President Donald Trump giving Elon Musk a $400 million contract to buy armored Teslas. The liberal pundit, known for her questionable takes and liberal meltdowns, fabricated this narrative despite no evidence to back up the allegation. This latest misstep only adds to the growing list of inaccuracies from Maddow and other left-wing media figures attempting to distort the truth to discredit Trump and Musk.
