The US Supreme Court put off ruling on the case of fired Special Counsel, the improbably named Hampton Dellinger. In a ruling with dissents by four justices, the Supreme Court agreed to put off ruling on the government's appeal of the order reinstating Dellinger until the DC Circuit issues its ruling on Wednesday. "In light of the foregoing," wrote Chief Justice John Roberts for the majority, "the application to vacate the order of the United States District Court for the District of Columbia presented to THE CHIEF JUSTICE and by him referred to the Court is held in abeyance until February 26, when the TRO is set to expire."

This is absolutely SOP. The SCOTUS almost never rules before the lower courts have finished with a case. This means precisely nothing about how the case may be decided if it does come to the SCOTUS. My expectation is that the appeal court will correctly decide that firing was permissible and that will end it with SCOTUS not needing to descend into the business of the lower courts. SCOTUS TAKES cases 'in the fullness of time, and never is in a hurry, and extremists for the lower courts to handle the overwhelming majority of cases.

Damned tablet. The last sentence should have said, and was typed as: SCOTUS takes cases 'in the fullness of time, and never is in a hurry, and it is extremely interested letting the lower courts handle the overwhelming majority of cases.

Don't blame them. We are in a country that rushes to the courts every five minutes and then complains about how long it takes.

Roberts is looking, as he always does, for a soft landing on this issue. The real and honest response is, "Constitutionally, the President is the Chief Executive and has THE REQUIRED AND NECESSARY power to administer the Executive Branch as he sees fit, within the Constitution, to manage the Executive to meet his goals." This is a BOLD and TRUE declaration of the Constitutional power of the President. Robert's is NOT a bold man. He is hoping the lower court will make a flawed ruling or even blow off the issue so it doesn't come to the court. Then, if needed, the SCOTUS could make a "technical" rebuff without addressing the essence of the problem and ending the idiotic debate over the scope of Presidential power, which is deliberately WIDE. Roberts is doing everything he can to avoid making that statement because he wants to keep the court out of the mess. But the Left is illegitimately using the court as a tool and it needs to be addressed and SHUT DOWN. Roberts MUST see this and is a coward not to reassert the purpose of the court to make legitimate legal decisions for the American People. Kicking the can down the road is not an acceptable course of action. A solid statement by the SCOTUS would contribute greatly to putting the Country back on the right course, the Constitutional course, now and for the future.

The United States District is a Democrat bastion and will rule against Trump, so by putting it off the only thing Roberts has done is put it off.

Speaking at a Black History event Thursday in the White House, President Donald Trump praised the memory of Prince Estabrook, a slave and Massachusetts Minuteman who was wounded at the 1775 Battle of Lexington. Trump noted that the African American patriot was “one of the first in the nation to spill blood in that very, very tough time,” and went on to announce that his statue will be erected in the coming National Garden of American Heroes — a project the president put forth in his first term, and has revived. The new “statue park,” Trump explained, will “honor hundreds of our greatest Americans to ever live, including countless black American icons.”

The media got the memo: start attacking Trump again because everything he’s doing is being well-received by the voters. So, CNN highlighted the four lefty polls showing Trump’s declining approval to manufacture a fake narrative that the nation is turning against him. The overall aggregate still has him with a higher approval rating. Now, they’re saying the Department of Government Efficiency's (DOGE) work is hurting Trump:

New York City filed a lawsuit against the Trump administration on Friday to recoup $80.5 million of congressionally approved migrant funding the feds quietly seized from the city’s coffers last week. The city’s Law Department blasted President Trump for conducting an “unlawful money grab” that snatched Federal Emergency Management Agency payments without any advance notice, according to the suit filed in the US District Court in the Southern District of New York. The payments were dispersed to help pay back local governments, including New York City, for shouldering the massive cost of the migrant crisis.
