The mainstream media has been desperately trying to push any narrative that it can to undermine the new Trump administration, and, of course to drive a wedge between him and Elon Musk.[Snip] And then on Saturday, Trump finally criticized Musk. It’s true. In a post on Truth Social, Trump said he’d like to see Musk “get more aggressive.”Elon Is Doing A Great Job, But I Would Like To See him Get More Aggressive … .

Comments:

Who among us wouldn’t like that kind of criticism/encouragement?! The media has really bitten off more than they can chew with trying to trick these two men into disliking each other. Elon says he loves this president. Yes. I do too!

In the same vein as this reporting Trump's "criticism" of Musk, friends of mine just expressed their doubt in God by having their newborn daughter baptized today.

If this is criticism, it's pretty thin gruel. DOGE's work is critical to unwinding the Deep State and trying to restore fiscal balance to the Country. Once DOGE has made a reasonably complete pass through the government, most of the waste and fraud will be choked off and Trump will have a better idea how much savings he will have to work with. Unfortunately, we won't have a complete picture of where all the money went and who got it because the endpoint recipient can be several steps past where the treasury checks were cashed. This, of course, was the intent, to obfuscate who is getting the graft. I wouldn't be surprising to find that money was collected from several endpoints, aggregated, and then used to pay someone, a "Big Guy" perhaps, off. What we can be sure of is that enormous amounts were drained from taxpayers to pay for absurd "purposes" that were never designated as official recipients. MUCH tighter controls are needed and a report from recipients as to WHO they paid out to using federal largesse. I am sure both Trump and Musk are very eager to build a picture as to how this all worked, get spending under tight control, and root out thieves and accomplices. I suspect that the process will be ongoing for at least a couple years. THEN, a modern, secure, universal across government, easily and regularly auditable, and transparent system should be in place. THIS ALONE would be an historic accomplishment by Trump and Musk and I suspect there will be MUCH more coming out of this partnership. Technology across government is often grossly outdated, like keeping paper records in mine shafts and hand processing them. This is INSANE. Some of the saving Musk finds should be targeted to a massive government technology upgrade; which in itself will create MORE saving through efficiency. The savings should keep getting plowed into technology updates, which is a never ending job, but always yields MORE capability and savings. The American People are owed a government that works well and can provide fast and accurate service to them. Plus, such systems can be monitored and reviewed to keep them honest.

More like motivation, encouragement, etc. It's exactly what a direct report says to staff. It's a freakin' pep talk.

In late January, the Idaho House of Representatives passed a memorandum calling on the U.S. Supreme Court to “reverse” its 2015 gay marriage decision, Obergefell v. Hodges, “and restore the natural definition of marriage, a union of one man and one woman.” The memo passed 46 to 24 in the House and is heading to the Idaho Senate. If it passes the senate, it will be sent on to the Supreme Court as one more formal encouragement that it take up a case that might overturn Obergefell.[Snip] Back in 2020, sitting justices Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito argued that the Obergefell decision should be overturned — or at least fixed.

I’ve written about how the left uses language to (often falsely) shape political and social narratives. Abortion is “health care.” Illegal aliens are “undocumented citizens.” The homeless are the “unhoused,” or recently and more and more ridiculously, “people experiencing homelessness,” while people who have ties to Latin America are “Latinx” (although most Latinos in reality want nothing to do with the term). One the silliest arguments they regularly bring forth, though, is regarding the term “woman”—what does it mean? Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson doesn’t know; meanwhile, many leftists define it as “anyone who identifies as one.” Right. Enter Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers (D, but you probably already knew that),
