In a historic and unprecedented move, the Trump administration on Friday night fired the Joint Chiefs chairman, the Navy's top officer, the Air Force vice chief of staff, and the judge advocates general of three service branches.
President Donald Trump, in a social media post, announced the firing of Joint Chiefs Chairman Gen. Charles "CQ" Brown and nominated currently retired and little known Air Force Lt. Gen. Dan "Razin" Caine to take the post.
Then, minutes later, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth announced that he had fired the Navy's top officer -- Adm. Lisa Franchetti, the first woman to hold the post

The Associated Press sued three Trump administration officials Friday over access to presidential events, citing freedom of speech in asking a federal judge to stop the 10-day blocking of its journalists.
The lawsuit was filed Friday afternoon in U.S. District Court in Washington, D.C.
The AP says its case is about an unconstitutional effort by the White House to control speech — in this case refusing to change its style from the Gulf of Mexico to the "Gulf of America," as President Trump did last month with an executive order.

The Supreme Court on Friday dashed President Donald Trump’s plan to immediately fire the head of an independent agency that investigates whistleblower claims, allowing Hampton Dellinger to remain in the job through at least the middle of next week.
By declining to back Trump’s emergency appeal, the conservative court nominally sided with Dellinger, who President Joe Biden appointed in 2024 to lead the Office of Special Counsel for a five-year term but who White House officials fired in a brief email days after Trump returned to power. The Dellinger appeal was the first to reach the Supreme Court tied to Trump’s whirlwind of activity since returning

The White House national security adviser, Mike Waltz, said on Friday that the Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, was expected to sign a minerals agreement with the United States imminently, as part of broader negotiations to end the war with Russia.
“Here’s the bottom line: President Zelenskyy is going to sign that deal, and you will see that in the very short term,” Waltz said during remarks at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC). The statement comes amid an increasingly public dispute between Zelenskyy and Donald Trump, with Waltz telling Fox News this week that the Ukrainian leader needed to “tone it down” and sign the proposed agreement.

President Donald Trump briefly quarreled with Maine Governor Janet Mills on Friday after announcing that the Democratic-run state will not receive any more federal funding until it complies with his recent executive order barring men from competing in women’s sports.
Trump directly asked Mills whether Maine will abide by federal law when it comes to protecting women’s sports. Mills responded she is “complying with state and federal laws.” Trump shot back.
“We are the federal law. You better do it because you’re not going to get any federal funding at all if you don’t,”

Hamas terrorists brutally murdered two toddlers, Ariel and Kfir Bibas, with their “bare hands” in November 2023 while the Israeli children were held captive in Gaza, the Israel Defense Forces revealed on Friday.
“Ariel and Kfir Bibas were murdered by terrorists in cold blood,” IDF spokesman Daniel Hagari said in a statement. “The terrorists did not shoot the two young boys—they killed them with their bare hands. Afterwards, they committed horrific acts to cover up these atrocities.”
The revelation comes after Hamas failed to return the body of Shiri Bibas together with her two sons in violation of the cease-fire agreement’s first phase lasting six weeks.

Canada has won a thrilling contest in overtime 3-2 against the USA amidst a politically charged atmosphere in Boston.
Conor McDavid's sudden death overtime strike gave Canada a thrilling 3-2 victory in the 4 Nations Face-Off final in what was a thrilling spectacle at a packed TD Garden, where resale tickets were going for as much as $2,300.
Much of the added interest came as a result of the tense geopolitical stand-off between the two North American nations following President Donald Trump's incendiary remarks.
Earlier in the day, Mr Trump reiterated that he intended to make Canada the 51st state of America,

After Hamas terrorists paraded the coffins of the Bibas children around Gaza before their Thursday release, it was hard to imagine that there was any room for the family’s tragic ordeal to get even worse. And yet, somehow it has.
A short while ago, the Israel Defense Forces announced a forensics examination identified Kfir and Ariel Bibas (who were nine months old and four years old at the time of their abduction) as two of the bodies returned by Hamas, determining that they were brutally murdered in November 2023.
While this tragic news was expected, another detail came as a shock: “During the identification process, it was determined

Are regular rideshare apps not thrilling enough for you? Need some excitement, or is it your fantasy to ride in a dark window-tinted SUV with an armed bodyguard like a scene out of “Succession?”
Well, now you’re in luck.
Protector is now available on the iOS and Mac App Store, offering rideshare services like we know with Uber and Lyft, but with a twist. Your ride comes with a personal “protector” in the form of former military and law enforcement professionals who are, of course, armed with guns.
To describe the new app in simple terms, one mobile app advisor, Nikita Bier, took to X on Wednesday.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Thursday he had a “productive meeting” with retired Lt. Gen. Keith Kellogg, who was acting as President Donald Trump’s envoy for Ukraine and Russia.
The upbeat meeting seemed to scale back a growing confrontation between Zelensky and Trump over bilateral U.S. peace negotiations with Russia.
“I had a productive meeting with Special Envoy Kellogg – a good discussion, many important details. I am grateful to the United States for all the assistance and bipartisan support for Ukraine and the Ukrainian people,” Zelensky said on social media Thursday afternoon.
“It’s important for us – and for the entire

Not too long ago, I decided to try a bold experiment. I returned to the University of Georgia to take some agriculture classes. The reason I considered it bold is that I was old enough to be many of the students' mothers (had I been an extremely young teen mom, of course). I learned a lot of lessons about this current generation of teens and twenty-somethings and how college has changed since my first go-round two decades prior, but what really threw me was when a professor asked for my pronouns.
My class was given a virtual assignment to upload a video introduction of ourselves

In my opinion, there often is remarkably little correlation between spending and results. Our educational system is an obvious instance: the more we spend, the worse our schools get. I seriously believe that if we cut education spending by 50%, our kids would be better educated.
This is a basic difference between liberals and conservatives. Conservatives measure results, while liberals measure inputs. Thus, if we want better schools–or a better military–the liberal solution is obvious: spend more money. Whether the money actually does any good is of little or no interest. When the checks are written, the liberal’s job is done.
Which brings us to the Department of Defense:
