Another GOP politician has signed on to the mission currently underway by the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) and Elon Musk, at the direction of President Trump, to right the ship of state that was unapologetically rammed into iceberg after iceberg by the Biden administration since Jan. 2021.
Among those federal government entities getting dismantled by the DOGE whirlwind is the US Agency for International Development (USAID). And when the USAID's entrenched bureaucrats tried to thwart their efforts to clean things up for the American people exactly one week ago--by locking engineers out of the headquarters--Trump didn't stand by in silence, as my colleague Bob Hoge wrote on Feb. 2:

The Pentagon press office caused something of a kerfuffle last Friday when they announced the previously sacrosanct onsite work areas assigned to a few privileged outlets would be subject to an annual rotation. Under the new plan, the New York Times (print), NBC (television), National Public Radio (NPR), and Politico (online) would lose their respective slots to the New York Post, OANN, Breitbart News Network, and the Huffington Post. Needless to say, the people being rotated out of that plum real estate were not happy;

A federal judge has blocked Elon Musk's Department of Government Efficiency (Doge) from accessing the personal financial data of millions of Americans in Treasury Department records, according to court documents.
US District Judge Paul A. Engelmayer issued a preliminary injunction on Saturday to prohibit access, ordering Musk and his team to immediately destroy any copies of records.
The move comes after 19 state attorneys general sued the Trump administration after Doge, a cost-cutting initiative led by Musk, was given access to the records.
They argued access for Musk, a "special government employee", and Doge, which is not an official government department, violated federal law.

President Donald Trump’s Energy Secretary is making commercial nuclear power a priority for unleashing American energy abundance and innovation.
Chris Wright listed his priorities earlier this week upon taking over the Energy Department and one of them is significantly expanding commercial nuclear power in the U.S. as newer technologies take hold.
“The long-awaited American nuclear renaissance must launch during President Trump’s administration. As global energy demand continues to grow, America must lead the commercialization of affordable and abundant nuclear energy. As such, the Department will work diligently and creatively to enable the rapid deployment and export of next-generation nuclear technology,” reads an order Wright signed Wednesday.

With the Democratic Party protesting the crimes of the Elon Musk–Donald Trump administration with the skill and preparedness of a high school chess club that’s suddenly been told they’re starting the big football game, most liberals have pinned their hopes for real opposition on the courts. Lawsuits have been pouring down on the Trump administration like rain. To keep up, I check the helpful litigation tracker published and updated by Just Security. As of this writing, the website is following 35 separate lawsuits filed against Trump’s executive orders.
Many of Trump’s orders are illegal, and unconstitutional, and brazenly so. Most good-faith lawyers can see that, but “good faith”

Congress illegally spent at least $516 billion in 2024 on programs for which there was no authorization. Yes, billion, with a "b." A stunning report by the Congressional Budget Office underscores the reason for the legal assault upon President Trump's right to audit payments by the Treasury Department.
In a report titled "Expired and Expiring Authorizations of Appropriations for Fiscal Year 2024," the CBO observes: "Historically, House and Senate rules restrict lawmakers from considering an appropriation if it lacks a current authorization." Nevertheless, "CBO estimates that $516 billion was appropriated for 2024 for activities with expired authorizations, which the agency identified for each

Petards, hoisting, some assembly required. By Democrats.
For the past three weeks, Democrats have screamed about how an unelected multi-billionaire has gained access to the levers of federal spending, mainly to pull them to the OFF position. At first they claimed that Elon Musk had no authority to operate his DOGE project or access government information, until it turns out ... he did.
As attorney Tom Renz explained in a lengthy Twitter/X thread, Trump took an agency launched by Barack Obama in 2014 called the US Digital Service and renamed it the US DOGE Service, and made Musk a special adviser to it. Trump then installed Musk's team

A handful of House Democrats were barred from entering the Department of Education’s DC headquarters Friday, after President Trump talked up plans to bypass Congress and unilaterally close the agency down, returning its power to the states.
Rep. Mark Takano (D-Calif.) and 95 of his fellow partisans had demanded an “urgent meeting” Thursday with acting secretary Denise Carter before taking matters into their own hands Friday — only to be halted by security who “locked” the building doors, a congressional aide told The Post.
Video footage shows an officer informing the lawmakers that their meeting request had not been “accepted”

Did you know that Elon Musk is the real president of the United States?
Did you know that he is going to defund all public schools in America?
Did you know that Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security are going to stop issuing checks?
How about his dastardly plan to crash every airplane in America? The Democrats are panicked and just throwing * against the wall hoping something will stick. My timeline is filled with hoaxes about Elon Musk and DOGE and has been ever since the USAID scandals popped up. Not that Elon hasn't been the subject of much hate ever since he bought Twitter, but what is happening now is next-level

The NCAA has officially changed its gender eligibility policies to ban all biological males from women's sports one day after President Donald Trump signed an executive order to address the issue.
The governing body of college sports announced on Thursday afternoon its new participation policy for transgender student-athletes.
"A student-athlete assigned male at birth may not compete on a women’s team," the new policy reads.
The new policy still allows biological females to compete on men's teams. The previous policy, which had been in place in 2010, allowed biological males to compete in the women's category after undergoing at least one year of testosterone suppression treatment.

The White House is working on an executive order to fire thousands of U.S. Department of Health and Human Services workers, the Wall Street Journal reported on Thursday, citing people familiar with the matter.
White House on Thursday denied it is drafting an executive order to cut workers across federal health agencies.
According to the Wall Street Journal, under the order, which could come as soon as next week, the Food and Drug Administration, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and other health agencies would have to cut a certain percentage of employees.

A U.S. judge on Thursday temporarily blocked the Trump administration's proposed buyout for federal workers until at least Monday, giving an initial win to labor unions who have sued to stop it.
The ruling by U.S. District Judge George O'Toole in Boston pushes back a midnight deadline set by the Trump administration, which is pressuring federal workers to leave their jobs in an unprecedented drive to overhaul the federal government. O'Toole could opt to delay the buyout further or block it on a more permanent basis when he next considers the legal challenge by the unions at a hearing on Monday.
