Ric Grenell, President Donald Trump’s Envoy for Special Missions, slammed Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass’s (D) fire “recovery czar” for his large three-month salary of $500,000 paid by charity groups.
Bass announced former L.A. police commissioner Steve Soboroff as the head of the rebuilding efforts following the devastating fires that destroyed homes and businesses and claimed at least 29 lives over a three-week period. Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency has Democrats furious and the Washington establishment a-boil — desperately trying to mire DOGE’s “break things and move fast” in lawfare and other counterpunching.
But the drive to uncover government waste and projects directly opposed by the public must not stop.
President Trump and his minion Musk need to keep the disruption growing, shining sunlight into dark fiscal corners.
Friday saw lefty “consumer advocacy” group Public Citizen team up with the University of California student government to sue to stop DOGE from getting Education Department data, citing supposed privacy concerns even though it’s working lawfully through the renamed US Digital Service.

Twice this week, President Donald Trump has publicly noted that he will impose constraints on Elon Musk, a special government employee and the world’s richest man, as Musk works to cut federal spending. Arriving Sunday evening in Washington, Trump told reporters on the tarmac that, “I think Elon’s doing a good job. He’s a big cost-cutter. Sometimes we won’t agree with it and we’ll not go where he wants to go. But I think he’s doing a great job.”
In the Oval Office Monday, Trump said that Musk has “access only to letting people go that he thinks are no good if we agree with him

The left is screaming that all these are acts of vengeance. But that is not what is happening at all. Donald Trump is restoring some health and sanity to the American government, and every American owes him a debt of gratitude.
Though few noticed or realized the full implications of what was happening, the nation has passed through an extremely dangerous period. When Old Joe Biden and his henchmen decided to wage lawfare against Trump, they corrupted the justice system and endangered the very idea of a loyal opposition that the majority allowed to operate freely in an atmosphere of mutual respect.

Fox News' Jennifer Griffin has stepped in it again, and this time she earned a rebuke from newly-minted Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth.
For several years, it's been obvious that the Pentagon reporter has had it out for the modern iteration of the Republican Party. Feel free to speculate as to exactly why, but it seems to revolve around the fact that the Obama and Biden administrations were, for all intents and purposes, simply neoconservative cut-outs. A simple glance at her reporting makes it clear that Griffin believes the status quo first established under President George W. Bush is unassailable, and any attempts to change it cause her great consternation.

President Donald Trump issued an executive order Friday “to assess any ongoing infringements” of the right to keep and bear arms. The order began by stating the purpose and importance of the Second Amendment: The Second Amendment is an indispensable safeguard of security and liberty. It has preserved the right of the American people to protect ourselves, our families, and our freedoms since the founding of our great Nation. Because it is foundational to maintaining all other rights held by Americans, the right to keep and bear arms must not be infringed. The order then makes clear that President Trump wants an assessment of any infringements

President Trump has ordered security clearances stripped from a new hit list of antagonists.
Just days after revoking Joe Biden’s access to classified information and secure federal buildings — “because I don’t trust him” — Trump said his new top target is ex-Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, who orchestrated the “Dirty 51” letter from former intelligence officials on the eve of the 2020 election.
The infamous missive falsely claimed that Hunter Biden’s laptop, the contents of which The Post revealed, was Russian disinformation.
Blinken’s security clearances will be revoked, following the same presidential directive aimed at Biden and the 51 ex-spooks last week, Trump told The Post in an exclusive interview.

Last month in this space we wrote about British Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s apparent embrace of various dystopian novels in formulating his policies for Great Britain. Most obvious was the government’s embrace of the totalitarian principles laid down in George Orwell’s Nineteen Eighty-Four, especially regarding curbs on free speech and the filtering of common reality through the politically correct scrim of Newspeak. Then there was the demographic catastrophe described in Jean Raspail’s Camp of the Saints. The radical left judiciary continues to sabotage the Trump Administration’s efforts to drain the swamp.
CNN reported on Saturday that a federal judge halted Elon Musk’s government efficiency team from accessing a critical Treasury Department. US District Judge Paul A. Engelmayer, who Barack Obama appointed, cited a risk of “irreparable harm.”
The order temporarily stops access to a sensitive payment system that distributes Americans’ tax returns, Social Security benefits, disability payments, and federal employees’ salaries.
Moreover, Engelmeyer ordered the destruction of any downloaded information from the payment system by anyone given access to it since January 20, the date Trump was inaugurated.

Born in 1918, Spiro Agnew was the first-generation progeny of Greek immigrants in Baltimore. Agnew served in WWII, and won a Bronze Star for his service. After the war Spiro obtained a law degree, and dabbled in politics after being head of a PTA.
Before you knew it Spiro was Baltimore County Executive in 1962–1966 as a Republican, a rare occurrence in solidly Democrat territory. As County Executive, Agnew projected moderation: new schools, improvements to water and sewer, and the passage of an anti-discrimination bill.
In 1966, Agnew received the Republican nomination for Maryland governor.
By contrast, the Democratic race for the Democratic nominee in 1966 was a mess.

A federal judge Friday evening refused to block the Labor Department from giving Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) access to confidential systems or firing employees for refusing to hand over the credentials.
U.S. District Judge John Bates found the plaintiffs hadn’t show enough injury to have legal standing to bring the lawsuit. “This data includes the medical and financial records of millions of Americans,” wrote Bates. “But on the current record, plaintiffs have failed to establish standing. Possessing nuclear weapons provides any regime with a protective shield against foreign intervention, removing the fear of retaliation. Given this reality, no diplomatic effort -- regardless of its structure -- will convince Iran to relinquish its nuclear ambitions voluntarily.
For the Iranian regime, the tactic of negotiating to buy time has paid off really well. Iran successfully reached a deal with the Obama administration which provided it with financial relief, and diplomatic legitimacy, and the promise of nuclear weapons in just a few years, which just so happens to be this coming October.

A federal judge has blocked Elon Musk's Department of Government Efficiency (Doge) from accessing the personal financial data of millions of Americans in Treasury Department records, according to court documents.
US District Judge Paul A. Engelmayer issued a preliminary injunction on Saturday to prohibit access, ordering Musk and his team to immediately destroy any copies of records.
The move comes after 19 state attorneys general sued the Trump administration after Doge, a cost-cutting initiative led by Musk, was given access to the records.
They argued access for Musk, a "special government employee", and Doge, which is not an official government department, violated federal law.

Chris Wright listed his priorities earlier this week upon taking over the Energy Department and one of them is significantly expanding commercial nuclear power in the U.S. as newer technologies take hold.
“The long-awaited American nuclear renaissance must launch during President Trump’s administration. As global energy demand continues to grow, America must lead the commercialization of affordable and abundant nuclear energy. As such, the Department will work diligently and creatively to enable the rapid deployment and export of next-generation nuclear technology,” reads an order Wright signed Wednesday.

Democrats held three press conferences just this week alone fretting over DOGE potentially having more oversight capability into the federal government. But that’s three more press conferences than they’ve ever held in response to China’s cyberattacks that infiltrated our systems and actually stole sensitive data.
Democrat members of the House Ways and Means Committee held a press conference attacking the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) for being granted read-only access to the Treasury Department’s payment system. Senate Democrats also held a similar press briefing, calling DOGE’s oversight a “hostile takeover of the Treasury Department.”

President Trump announced Friday that he is “immediately revoking” former President Joe Biden’s security clearances and access to daily intelligence briefings – telling The Post he doesn’t “trust” his predecessor with such sensitive information.
Trump, 78, argued in a Truth Social post that the former president set the precedent when he barred him from receiving access to the same briefings four years ago, citing Trump’s “erratic behavior.”
“There is no need for Joe Biden to continue receiving access to classified information,” Trump wrote.“Therefore, we are immediately revoking Joe Biden’s Security Clearances, and stopping his daily Intelligence Briefings,” the president continued.

In recent weeks, there were rumors that John Fetterman was going to flip to the Republican party, but he has shown through his actions that he is definitely a Democrat.
However, he does have a very realistic view of the troubled future of his party.
During an appearance on the Tara Palmeri podcast, Fetterman was asked what Democrats can do to win back male voters like him. His answer was not very encouraging for Democrats.

One of the most troubling things about the Pentagon is that it hasn’t passed an audit in years. Trump’s new Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth is aiming to change that.
He is committing to having the Pentagon pass a clean audit within four years, or by the end of Trump’s second term.
That might seem like a long time, but you must take into account the absolutely massive size of the project. We’re talking about something that spans the entire armed forces of the United States.
The Hill reports: Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth on Friday committed to getting the Pentagon to pass a clean audit within four years after the Defense Department

Attorney General Pam Bondi’s first interview on Fox News’s Sean Hannity did not disappoint. It’s refreshing to see an attorney general in command of the department, unlike Merrick Garland, who was either AWOL, aloof, or got bent over by Joe Biden. Bondi’s hearing had some tense moments, but she was a lock for confirmation once it ended. She was beyond qualified, having served as attorney general for Florida. Even CNN’s Elie Honig, a former assistant US attorney, said she was probably the most qualified candidate to be nominated in 50 years.

Petards, hoisting, some assembly required. By Democrats.
For the past three weeks, Democrats have screamed about how an unelected multi-billionaire has gained access to the levers of federal spending, mainly to pull them to the OFF position. At first they claimed that Elon Musk had no authority to operate his DOGE project or access government information, until it turns out ... he did.
As attorney Tom Renz explained in a lengthy Twitter/X thread, Trump took an agency launched by Barack Obama in 2014 called the US Digital Service and renamed it the US DOGE Service, and made Musk a special adviser to it. Trump then installed Musk's team

President Trump announced he will immediately remove several members of the Kennedy Center board and install himself as chairman – claiming the current leadership doesn’t share his “vision” for the arts.
Trump, 78, said a new board that supports his “Golden Age in Arts and Culture” will be established, while blasting Washington’s John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts for previously hosting drag shows “targeting” children.
“At my direction, we are going to make the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C., GREAT AGAIN,” the commander in chief wrote in a Truth Social post Friday night.

Federal workers in Washington, D.C., are experiencing job instability for the first time ever, and the whole city is in a "panic," according to one report.
President Donald Trump and Elon Musk's Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) are cutting spending and terminating government programs left and right, leading to layoffs, buyouts and a shell-shocked Capitol not even 3 weeks into his second term.
"Washington already feels like a transformed place," Politico senior editor Michael Schaeffer wrote in a Friday column. "And it won’t just snap back even if the crusade ends tomorrow. … something essential in the culture has shifted."

Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) chief Elon Musk’s efforts to clean up waste and fraud in the federal government will soon shift its focus to the Social Security Administration (SSA) in a move likely to create a firestorm with Democrats. [Snip] Just Facts, a nonprofit research institute, previously reported that the agency disbursed roughly $2 billion in fraudulent or improper payments in 2022,... [Snip] "Social Security will not be touched, it will only be strengthened," President Donald Trump said during a press conference on Friday. "We have illegal immigrants on Social Security and we're going to find out who they are and take them out."
