Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) sees the Middle East on fire, and he considers it an opportunity. That was the bottom line of his kid-gloves Senate confirmation hearing on Wednesday for his nomination to be secretary of state. During the hearing, Jim Risch, the chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and a Republican from Idaho, announced that a three-phase ceasefire deal had been reached between Israel and Hamas—and Rubio had a reply: “We don’t know yet for sure, but there are opportunities available now in the Middle East that did not exist 90 days ago,” he said. “Whether it’s what’s happened in Lebanon, whether it’s what’s happened in Syria, whether

Rubio twice tried to slip in a massive amnesty bill as a "border security" bill. TWICE. I will never fully trust him, never. I always expect him to revert to form and stab Trump in the back at some inopportune time.

Everyone jumping on the Trump bandwagon. No telling what these people truly believe. Can see Rubio using SoS as a jumping point to President. That hasn't been successful since the early years of our country though.

Journalist Matt Taibbi spoke to Brian Kilmeade about Mark Zuckerberg coming out against government censorship of social media and revealing the pressure he faced from the Biden administration to censor content on Facebook and Instagram. "On the whole, it is a net positive," Taibbi said. "Zuckerberg coming out and saying all this confirms a lot of what I reported and a lot of the information that came out from Jim Jordan's committee investigation into the Facebook Files. Even if it is not 100% sincere, it confirms some things and suggests that maybe these tech companies are afraid to continue doing this kind of thing."

The first round of confirmation hearings for Trump Cabinet appointees shows that Democrats aren’t interested in governing — only grandstanding. Look at the circus of Defense nominee Pete Hegseth’s Tuesday hearing. Hawaii’s Sen. Mazie Hirono, a lefty stalwart, debuted an utterly bizarre line about Hegseth greenlighting military invasions of Greenland or takeovers of the Panama Canal; she also asked if Hegseth would follow a hypothetical order from Trump to shoot protesters. Virginia’s Tim Kaine sternly wagged his finger at Hegseth over allegations of bad behavior toward women — pretty rich coming from a man who went puppy-eyes gaga in public for . . . Bill Clinton.

Joe Biden is leaving office the way he came in — under a cloud of self-delusion and amid a rancid stench of lies. He promised to be a standard-bearer of decency, a respecter of norms and the rule of law. He presented himself as a unifier who would help the country heal after the pandemic, a man of integrity and impeccable character, unlike his wretched predecessor. Yet behind closed doors, in the devious recesses of his soul, Joe plotted and planned just two things: self-aggrandizement and vengeance. Joe paid lip service to a grab bag of virtuous goals but, really, he was all about himself.

IDF Reserve Brig. Gen. Amir Avivi says "two things" changed regarding the Israel-Hamas cease-fire agreement after fifteen months of conflict in the Middle East. "This deal has been on the table since May last year and Hamas opposed it completely. Why? There was no real pressure on Hamas," Avivi told "Your World" on Wednesday. "Israel wanted to stop some of the humanitarian aid, especially some of the gasoline, but the administration wouldn't let us do that. So Israel has no major leverage on them." "What's changed is two things," Avivi told Fox News. "One, Israel defeated Hezbollah and Hezbollah cannot support Hamas anymore.

Senate confirmation hearings are set to officially begin this week for Trump’s nominee for Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth. No doubt, the media and some members of the Senate will try to use this opportunity to criticize Hegseth’s personal history and lack of Pentagon experience, but this is a mistake. Indeed, if the chaos in Kabul, wokeness and inefficiency in Washington, and the general decline of America’s military over the last four years under the leadership of Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin—a former four-star general and defense contractor board member—have taught us anything, it is that the Defense Department doesn’t need another Washington insider at the helm.
Why This Lifelong Democrat Voted for Trump 4 replies

This past November, I cast a ballot that I never would have expected: I voted for Donald Trump. As a lifelong Democrat, this decision was not rooted in ideology, but instead born of personal frustration with America’s broken systems – financial, judicial, and political. My story is not just my own but a reflection of the shared struggles of countless Americans, in almost every economic class, who feel left behind and betrayed by a corrupted system now designed to serve the few at the expense of the many. The initial catalyst for my frustration came during the 2008 financial crisis, a crucible that revealed the staggering flaws of America’s financial infrastructure.

Foreign aid has been a pillar of America’s global strategy since the Marshall Plan and Japan’s postwar reconstruction—historic successes that created allies with booming economies. Today, foreign aid spending has surged to heights not seen in decades. But key agencies like USAID have veered off course with pet projects replacing strategic interests. Accountability is virtually non-existent. It’s time for serious reform. Under the Biden Administration, USAID’s budget exploded, funneling billions to activist NGOs and organizations favored by the progressive wing of the Democratic party. The largest recipients of USAID funding are foreign governments and NGOs—practically guaranteeing minimal oversight and no chance of return on investment.

In the last week or so, there has been a sudden burst of recognition of the extent to which Democrats and the media worked together to cover up Biden’s progressing cognitive decline. Some examples among many include: CBS correspondent Jan Crawford on December 30 (“That [the most under-reported story] would be, to me, Joe Biden's obvious cognitive decline that became undeniable in a televised debate")

This duplicity not only undermines public trust but also raises serious concerns about the company’s role in shaping public discourse. A glaring example of Meta’s hypocrisy is its handling of political figures. Don’t forget that they proudly throttled posts about Hunter Biden’s laptop in the final weeks of the 2020 presidential election to protect Joe Biden, even having a Facebook spokesman post on Twitter that they were doing so.
