Joe Biden gave more than $1.23 billion of American taxpayers’ money to pro-abortion groups over the course of his one-term presidency, according to an analysis by Restoration of America. [Snip] Of particular note is the $563 million the administration gave to the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), which supports liberalizing abortion laws and has even defended the “right” to sex-selection abortion and supported China’s draconian one-child policy. [Snip] Restoration’s Hayden Ludwig said. “Simply returning control of abortion policy to the states doesn’t make the federal government neutral on abortion...Until that money spigot is cut off, the Left is still in the driver’s seat...we’re all culpable for that terrible sin.

An illegal immigrant from Mexico, named as a person of interest in the Los Angeles area fires, may avoid being detained by immigration officials because of California's sanctuary laws. Immigration officials confirmed Tuesday that Juan Manuel Sierra is a Mexican national in the U.S. illegally. He is suspected of trying to start fires in Woodland Hills, close to the Kenneth fire, after being found with a blowtorch, according to the Los Angeles Times. Why It Matters While Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) issued a detainer for Sierra, California's sanctuary laws may stop local law enforcement from notifying the federal agency

California Gov. Gavin Newsom has been taking a lot of heat—deservedly so—for the Golden State’s preparation for and reaction to the devastating wildfires that have torched the Los Angeles area. He was caught in an embarrassing fact check on live TV about a reservoir that was actually empty even though he had just said they were all full, he’s been caught up in a donation scandal where he asked contributors to use the notorious Democrat fundraising machine ActBlue, he’s shown a lack of leadership by saying things like "the local folks are gonna figure that out" when asked about the fire hydrants that didn’t work, and so much more.

President-elect Donald Trump announced Tuesday he will create an external revenue office upon his return to the White House that will collect all foreign-sourced revenue, such as tariffs.
“For far too long, we have relied on taxing our Great People using the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). Through soft and pathetically weak Trade agreements, the American Economy has delivered growth and prosperity to the World, while taxing ourselves,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

President-elect Donald Trump is reportedly being praised by Arab officials for doing more to move Israel and Hamas closer to a hostage and ceasefire deal than President Joe Biden has done in more than a year since the last truce.
Trump warned Hamas at the beginning of December that there would be “ALL HELL TO PAY” if they did not release all 100 of the remaining hostages, including seven Americans (three of whom are alive) by his Inauguration. Hamas began to show flexibility, then retreated. But Trump’s future Mideast envoys fanned out across the region, and Trump apparently pressured Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to show greater flexibility as well.

Republican strategist Scott Jennings clashed with CNN host Abby Phillip Monday night over whether disaster relief aid for wildfires in California should be made “conditional,” requiring policy changes. The area around Los Angeles has been impacted by multiple wildfires that rapidly spread through Pasadena and other localities, destroying thousands of buildings and leaving at least 24 people dead, prompting criticism of Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom of California from President-elect Donald Trump over the state’s forest management policies. Phillip noted that House Speaker Mike Johnson favored introducing certain conditions for California to receive federal aid to rebuild.

In a move that has alarmed national security experts and Republicans alike, outgoing President Joe Biden has removed Cuba from the U.S. State Department’s list of state sponsors of terrorism, despite the island nation’s well-documented ties to terrorist organizations like Hamas and Hezbollah. This decision, widely criticized as a dangerous concession, overlooks Cuba's continued support for terrorist groups, which threaten U.S. allies and interests in the Middle East and beyond. Biden’s move is not only a diplomatic blunder but a direct challenge to the nation’s fight against terrorism, undermining efforts to confront rogue regimes that promote violence and instability.

South Korean president Yoon Suk Yeol was reportedly arrested Wednesday by the country's Corruption Investigation Office for High Ranking officials, a first for a sitting South Korean leader.
This was the second bid to arrest the impeached president, following a failed attempt on Jan.3 when agents from South Korea's Presidential Security Service had blocked investigators from entering Yoon's residence. About 3,000 police officers were involved in the second attempt to secure access to Yoon's compound, news agency Yonhap said.
South Korean media outlets also reported Yoon in a pre-recorded video said that "the law of the country has collapsed,"

The FBI hacked about 4,200 computers across the US as part of an operation to find and delete PlugX, a malware used by state-backed hackers in China to steal information from victims, the Department of Justice announced on Tuesday.
In an unsealed affidavit, the FBI says the China-based hacking group known by the monikers “Mustang Panda” and “Twill Typhoon” used PlugX to infect thousands of Windows computers in the US, Asia, and Europe since at least 2012. The malware, which infects computers through their USB ports, operates in the background while allowing hackers to “remotely access and execute commands” on victims’ computers.

President Trump’s nominee for Defense Secretary, Pete Hegseth, answered questions before the US Senate Armed Services Committee on Tuesday morning.
Democrat Senators used up their time during the confirmation hearing to smear Hegseth.
However, newly-elected Senator and former Navy SEAL, Tim Sheehy (MT), won the day with a hilarious exchange with Pete Hegseth.
“How many genders are there?” Sheehy asked Hegseth. “Senator, there are two genders,” Hegseth said.
“I know that well, I’m a “she-he,” Senator Sheehy said to laughter.
“What is the diameter of a rifle round fired out of an M4A1 rifle?” Senator Sheehy asked Hegseth.

I remember the bumper stickers of “Vietnam veterans are sleeping on the street while a draft dodger sleeps in the White House” from the Clinton era. Like so many things that people used to be outraged about, that sort of thing became normalized as Republicans gave way and accepted that as the new moral order of things.
Biden then helped normalize it further by naming an aircraft carrier after Bill Clinton. Since there’s a vessel named after Harvey Milk, a pedophile, naming Navy vessels after sex predators has been covered.
As a basic matter of course, nothing should be named after living people. There should be no Obama streets.

The Government has today decided to assign the Migration Agency the task of "swiftly taking further and powerful measures" to ensure that the requirements in citizenship cases are upheld.
"It is currently in practice impossible to revoke a citizenship, says Migration Minister Johan Forssell (M)."
"It underlines the importance of never granting Swedish citizenship to individuals who may pose a threat to Swedish security."
The Migration Agency already tightened controls in 2024 to detect potential security threats. The additional measures the Government now wants to see are motivated by the serious security situation and the increased risk of security-threatening individuals coming to Sweden.

Senate confirmation hearings are set to officially begin this week for Trump’s nominee for Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth. No doubt, the media and some members of the Senate will try to use this opportunity to criticize Hegseth’s personal history and lack of Pentagon experience, but this is a mistake. Indeed, if the chaos in Kabul, wokeness and inefficiency in Washington, and the general decline of America’s military over the last four years under the leadership of Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin—a former four-star general and defense contractor board member—have taught us anything, it is that the Defense Department doesn’t need another Washington insider at the helm.

Is there a connection between Castro, Inc. and the fires that are ravaging Los Angeles? Yes, definitely. Karen Bass, the city’s mayor, has not only visited Cuba numerous times while serving in public office here in the U.S., but also volunteered to harvest sugarcane with the Venceremos Brigade organized by Fidel Castro in 1969, which served as a training program for leftist American agitators, spies, and terrorists. When a politician says "don't politicize" a significant event like the fires that have swept Los Angeles County, it's a good bet they are attempting to divert attention and shield themselves from the consequences of their inaction.
Such is the case with California Governor Gavin Newsom and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, who seem to be blaming others.
Bass traveled to Ghana for a wedding after the National Weather Service issued a fire watch, citing "critical fire conditions." The following day, the watches were upgraded to warnings. Meteorologists advised that a "particularly dangerous situation" was developing. Upon her return, Bass refused to answer a reporter's questions.

This past November, I cast a ballot that I never would have expected: I voted for Donald Trump.
As a lifelong Democrat, this decision was not rooted in ideology, but instead born of personal frustration with America’s broken systems – financial, judicial, and political.
My story is not just my own but a reflection of the shared struggles of countless Americans, in almost every economic class, who feel left behind and betrayed by a corrupted system now designed to serve the few at the expense of the many.
The initial catalyst for my frustration came during the 2008 financial crisis, a crucible that revealed the staggering flaws of America’s financial infrastructure.

Misguided environmentalist policies were major contributors to the California fires. The first policy led to a self-inflicted shortage of water, the second policy led to the buildup of tinder in California’s forest, the third to the large number of EVs that exploded. Additional environmental policies were indirectly responsible for the self-inflicted shortage of firemen, fire equipment, and powerlines that desperately needed to be fireproofed.
The first major factor that contributed to the massive fires was lack of water. Southern California has more than enough rainfall to put out fires. However, the majority of rainfall occurs during the rainy season.

~A week from today, America's uniquely unique "peaceful transition of power" will (supposedly) be over and Donald J Trump will be beginning his first full day as America's forty-seventh president. As I said the day after his tremendous victory, he should skip all the inaugural bollocks in DC and just have a brisk businesslike swearing-in on the Rio Grande by a justice of the peace (Coolidge-style) followed by 47's personal arrest and deportation of the first "undocumented" migrant to attempt to walk into America on his watch. It was a wholly serious suggestion - because America is dying before your eyes and there is no time to waste.

California’s eco-bureaucrats halted a wildfire prevention project near the Pacific Palisades to protect an endangered shrub. It’s just the latest clash between fire safety and conservation in California that is coming under scrutiny following the devastating outbreak of the Palisades Fire — the most devastating blaze in Los Angeles history, which has consumed the very same area. In 2019, the LA Department of Water and Power (LADWP) began replacing nearly 100-year-old power line poles cutting through Topanga State Park, when the project was halted within days by conservationists outraged that federally endangered Braunton’s milkvetch plants had been trampled during the process.

At least three protesters were removed from the room by Capitol police, prompting Senate Armed Services Committee Chairman Roger Wicker (R-Miss.) to angrily admonish the crowd.
“You are a misogynist! You are a Christian fascist,” yelled out one elderly man before he was shuttled by police out of the room.

More information now on how a potential ceasefire deal would look.
Revealing some potential details of the agreement, a Palestinian official told the BBC that "the detailed technical discussions took considerable time".
Both sides agreed that Hamas would release three hostages on the first day of the agreement, after which Israel would begin withdrawing troops from populated areas.
Seven days later, Hamas would release four additional hostages, and Israel would allow displaced people in the south to return to the north, but only on foot via the coastal road.

Secretary of Defense nominee Pete Hegseth accused the media of orchestrating a “coordinated smear campaign” against him as he spoke before the Senate Armed Services Committee on Tuesday, marking the first step in his contentious confirmation process.
Democrats and some Republicans have expressed doubts about the 44-year-old’s ability to serve as secretary of defense, which would have him overseeing more than 3 million military and civilian personnel around the world and an $800 billion annual budget.

When will America realize that climate change is a hoax?
By “climate change,” I mean the idea of an overwhelmingly anthropogenic and sudden rise in the Earth’s temperature to catastrophic levels. I have not seen convincing proof of climate change in this sense.
I have lived for almost 80 years, and I have not witnessed any perceptible change. The summers are hot, as they were when I was a child. The winters are cold, much too cold for my taste, just as they were when I was out sledding, building snow forts, and throwing snowballs at my friends.

Hamas is expected to release 33 hostages during the first phase of an emerging ceasefire agreement being finalized by negotiators in Doha, two Israeli officials said, the first positive sign in months that a truce in the Israel-Hamas war may be in sight.
Officials have expressed cautious optimism that a deal could soon be announced to halt 15 months of fighting that has destabilized the Middle East and devastated Gaza, allow for more aid into the besieged Palestinian enclave, and ensure the return of dozens of hostages held by Hamas since its attack on Israel on October 7, 2023.

Via La Costa is adjacent to the Skull Rock Trailhead, where a group of men had been hanging out before the fire started. When Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm and her staff of clowns bungled a four-day ramble in 2023 to show off the wonder of electric vehicles, the lasting impression would be the report of her advance team blocking an open charger so she wouldn’t have to wait for one. A federal report, however, reveals details that cast the entire charade in an even worse light.
The Granholm tour was to take her from Charlotte, N.C., to Memphis, Tenn., and was intended to justify the billions of taxpayers’ dollars the Biden administration was pouring into green energy initiatives. The message was lost when it was learned, two months after the incident,

Los Angeles is burning and the East Coast and Midwest have been walloped by cold and snow. Naturally, the global warming alarmists screech and honk about human reliance of fossil fuels. It a gross and irresponsible assumption.

The lights are going out all over Europe, we shall not see them lit again in our lifetime. Energy costs are de-industrializing one former economic power after another. This Telegraph article is mostly about the U.K.:
Sir Jim Ratcliffe has warned that Britain’s multibillion-pound chemicals industry is facing “extinction” because of soaring energy costs and the shift to net zero.

Sir Jim, the co-owner of Manchester United and one of Britain’s richest men, said: “De-industrialising Britain achieves nothing for the environment. It merely shifts production and emissions elsewhere.
Largely to China, which I believe now emits more CO2 than the U.S., the E.U. and India, combined.

The ad, first obtained by the Daily Caller News Foundation, touts Kennedy as “fearless,” and promotes his policy agenda to make America healthier and combat the chronic disease crisis. Kennedy, an environmental lawyer and former Democratic presidential candidate with deep party roots, launched an independent presidential bid in 2023 before bowing out of the race to endorse now-President-elect Donald Trump in August 2024.

Joe Biden and Kamala Harris convened Senior White House and Administration officials for a briefing on the federal government’s response to the Los Angeles wildfires.
The Los Angeles fires have killed at least 24 people and destroyed more than 12,000 structures, and the reported estimated damage is around $150 billion.
The damage is largely due to Democrats like Governor Newsom and LA Mayor Karen Bass after they slashed fire department funding and didn’t fill reservoirs.
On Monday Biden announced his Regime is giving $770 to people impacted by the California wildfires.

Democrats’ hopes of defeating any of President-elect Trump’s Cabinet nominees appear to be fizzling as Senate committees prepare for the first week of hearings.
Senate Democrats have yet to reveal more evidence to back up the allegations against Pete Hegseth, Trump’s pick to head the Pentagon, and a recently completed FBI background check isn’t moving the needle on that nominee.Only Senate Armed Services Committee Chair Roger Wicker (R-Miss.) and Sen. Jack Reed (R.I.), the ranking Democrat on the panel, have been able to review the report thus far, which hasn’t yet caused any serious political reverberations.

Pete Hegseth, President Trump’s nominee for Secretary of Defense, is facing a relentless smear campaign that ranges from the petty to the absurd. Chief among these efforts are allegations from a disgruntled former employee of Concerned Veterans for America (CVA), where Hegseth served as CEO—claims that lack credibility and have resurfaced years after her brief tenure.
Meanwhile, critics have seized on other manufactured controversies, including Hegseth’s Christian tattoo, which has been assailed as extremist. This attack on his faith—and on traditional Christian imagery—reveals a deep hypocrisy, as such scrutiny would never be applied to other religious traditions. But these efforts to discredit Hegseth obscure the larger issue:

Vice President Kamala Harris is a bitter sore loser. When JD Vance moves into the official residence at Naval One Observatory, it will be something of a surprise for him. Why? Well, that’s because Harris never invited him to tour the residence. There is no sit-down either. The Vance family will be exploring the property for the first time on January 20. It gets worse: Vance's wife, Usha, contacted the vice president’s office in November, asking if any parts of the house need child-proofing—all the Vance children are under 8. Harris' office initially rebuffed those overtures (via CBS News):

So much has happened since the election that it’s easy to forget how many amazing moments there were leading up to election day back in November.
One of the absolute best moments was when Trump showed up to an event driving a ‘Trump’ branded garbage truck in response to Joe Biden describing Trump supporters as garbage.
Now it has been revealed that the Trump garbage truck will be included in his inauguration day parade. This news is just awesome. It’s pure Trump.

Venture capitalist Marc Andreessen recently expressed what many felt at the re-election of Donald Trump: not triumph so much as relief.
“I hope this last 10 years increasingly is just going to feel like a bad dream,” he told podcast host Joe Rogan. “I can’t believe we tolerated the level of repression . . . and anger and . . . emotional incontinence and . . . cancellation campaigns.”
Much of it was orchestrated or encouraged by our government.
One could say many things about Trump’s Cabinet picks. At times, they seem to embody Government by Middle Finger.
But they also, undeniably, represent Government by the Canceled:

Where is Glenn Kessler, the person posing as a fact checker for The Washington Post, when you need him? Before publishing a claim that Joe Biden has left a “remarkable legacy” on the public health sector, shouldn’t we at least analyze his results?
Here’s this, from an article at the paper last Thursday:
Biden leaves behind a remarkable legacy in public health
History will remember Biden for his aggressive actions against covid-19, most notably for his part in a mass vaccination campaign that saved an estimated 3.2 million Americans in two years. But his work on health matters went far beyond the coronavirus pandemic.

On Joe Biden’s first day in office in January 2021, he signed seventeen executive orders. These orders are notorious and remained controversial throughout his term in office. They included such measures as stopping the Keystone Pipeline — an order that was blamed for rising gasoline prices throughout Biden’s term (the real cause of such price increases was the Biden administration’s massive spending sprees, but the pipeline shutdown made the situation worse). Other Biden orders on that first day included renewed environmentalist-extremist measures such as rejoining the “Paris Accords” (wildfires continue unabated despite this order).

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass’ political career is likely over after these fires in the county are contained and extinguished. She has zero chance of being re-elected if she’s not recalled first. Peter Hamby of Puck News, a Los Angeles resident, penned a damning story that took shots at everyone, from the social media folks who he claims are spreading misinformation to Elon Musk for trying to bait firefighters into saying there was no water available. Hamby contends there was enough water, though the blaze's size made combating it ineffective. We’ll leave you to debate that in the comments section below.

The Chinese government is considering a plan that would have Elon Musk acquire TikTok’s U.S. operations to keep the app from being effectively banned, Bloomberg News reported on Monday.
The contingency plan is one of several options China is exploring as the U.S. Supreme Court determines whether to uphold a law that calls for China-based ByteDance to divest TikTok’s U.S. business by Jan. 19, the report said, citing anonymous sources.
After that deadline, third-party Internet service providers would be penalized for supporting TikTok’s operations in the country.

Nearly 1,000 people have signed an online petition calling on a cinema in Brooklyn to stop screening a film about the Munich massacre during the 1972 Summer Olympics.
September 5, directed by Tim Fehlbaum, follows the terrorist attack carried out by the Palestinian militant organisation Black September. [SNIP] A petition organised by a group of New York cinema workers is calling on the cinema to stop platforming the film and has amassed more than 1,000 signatures.
The workers describe the film as “Zionist propaganda”, which misrepresents the militants who carried out the massacre as “antisemitic terrorists”.

WASHINGTON - U.S. Special Counsel Jack Smith concluded that Donald Trump engaged in an "unprecedented criminal effort" to hold on to power after losing the 2020 election, but was thwarted in bringing the case to trial by the president-elect's November election victory, according to a report published on Tuesday.
The report details Smith's decision to bring a four-count indictment against Trump, accusing him of plotting to obstruct the collection and certification of votes following his 2020 defeat by Democratic President Joe Biden. It concludes that the evidence would have been enough to convict Trump at trial, but his imminent return to the presidency, set for Jan. 20, made that impossible.

As he leaves office next week, President Biden will primarily be remembered for his astounding incompetence. As a new generation of officeholders from both parties battles the devastating consequences of his failed leadership, his destructive impact on his own party, agenda and voters will cast a long shadow. Among the myriad failures, five stand out as a cautionary tale for future leaders.
Breathtaking dishonesty
Even in the corrupt world of politics, Biden stood out for his obvious lack of integrity. His administration will be synonymous with gaslighting and influence-peddling.

Starbucks (SBUX, Financial), the global coffee giant, has revoked a key policy that allowed anyone, including non-purchasers, to use its café spaces, patios, and restrooms. This policy had been in place since 2018. The company announced a new code of conduct aimed at making U.S. stores more appealing and regaining high-end customers. According to a Starbucks spokesperson, the new rules will prioritize paying customers who wish to enjoy their coffee and use the facilities. The updated code, effective January 27, includes prohibitions against begging and disorderly conduct. If necessary, staff can seek assistance from local law enforcement.

California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) has made a deal with fellow far-left Democrats in the state legislature to set aside $50 million in taxpayer funds to fight the Trump administration and to shield illegal migrants from deportations — as the Los Angeles fires death toll reaches 24.
Newsom convened a special session immediately after President-elect Donald Trump handily beat Vice President Kamala Harris in the November election, saying another Trump presidency would require the legislature to “provide additional funding to the California Department of Justice (CADOJ) and other agencies” to prepare for legal battles.

Guess what? The Village People are actually going to play at Turning Point's Inaugural Eve Ball. (X) Not only that, they are also going to play at the victory rally at the Capitol One Arena in D.C., the day before the inauguration. Kid Rock and Billy Ray Cyrus will also be playing at that event. Trump will be at both the rally and the Inaugural Eve ball, so he's going to have a great time with them actually playing the song live.

AUSTIN — Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar announced Monday the state will end its current budget with a surplus of $23.8 billion.
It's not as high as the record $32.7 billion the state had two years ago, but lawmakers will still have a lot to consider as they develop the next two-year budget. That's separate from what's called the state's rainy-day fund, which is projected to have $28.5 billion by the end of the next two-year budget in August 2027. In all, lawmakers will have nearly $195 billion dollars in state revenues to spend in the next two-year budget. Over the next 140 days, lawmakers will have to develop and
