Violence and the Left

On the left, everything is violent except violence. We see this often in the context of speech, but Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez extended the universe of violence to include denial of health insurance coverage: “This is not to say that an act of violence is justified, but I think for anyone who is confused or shocked or appalled, they need to understand that people interpret and feel and experience denied claims as an act of violence against them,” the congresswoman told CBS News’ Jaala Brown on Thursday. Ocasio-Cortez is an unusually dull-witted person, but even she should understand that shooting someone in the back is violent. Turning down an insurance claim might be correct

Someone needs to tell Mr Hinderaker that there is no longer such a thing in America as HEALTH INSURANCE but what United Health Care is selling is PRE-PAID HEALTH CARE and because the demand for PRE-PAID HEALTH CARE ("free" care in the UK!) is INFINITE, it is necessary for the company selling PRE-PAID HEALTH CARE to carefully monitor the claims to be sure they are necessary, or, more accurately, fall within the provisions of the contract the subscriber VOLUNTARILY entered into.

Those criticising insurers like United and other big companies often hold up Canada and England's socialized medicine as examples of what the US needs to implement to correct the problem of "BIG INSURANCE". However, they leave out that the long waits for specialists (if they are even available) and denials of many treatments and medications under the socialist medical systems. The grass is not greener under a government run system. It is worse.

Excellent point: FTA: "On the left, everything is violent except violence." And Sandy O-Crazio the Tip Stealing Barmaid tells us that if a particular free medical procedure is denied....it is "interpreted ....as an act of violence". This is the insanity of the childish, hair trigger tantrum left. If you deny me anything that I decide that "I DESERVE" then it is "violence"....so this will justify shooting someone in the back with a gun and killing them -- which is actual violence. So their faux 'violence' is justification in their warped, childlike, dangerous bratty minds to shoot a manager of a company who has denied them a claim. Or not....oh yeah.... this Luigi puke never was even a customer of United HealthCare....he just decided that this particular CEO "needed" to be murdered. A radicalized leftist with violent intent is a very dangerous person. Remember the BLM white guy who just shot a demonstrator because they disagreed on policy? IIRC that was in Portland or maybe Seattle during the height of the violent BLM rioting. He was found a week later or so, and decided to shoot it out with the police, with predictable results. Too bad Luigi didn't decide to shoot it out and have a similarly quick end.

"In principle, an insurance company might be happy to write a policy that covers everything. ... But no one would ever buy such a policy because it would be prohibitively expensive." I can certainly understand the anxiety of being hit with huge medical costs but insurance companies, as indicated above, are never obligated to cover such expenses, no matter the personal tragedy involved. Insurance, BY DESIGN, only covers a typical range of expenses for most people. It is NOT catastrophic coverage. People that rail against insurance companies for the impact of their own health problems are irrational. People who think that killing an insurance executive will solve health problems are maniacs.

NEW YORK — ABC News has agreed to pay $15 million toward Donald Trump’s presidential library to settle a defamation lawsuit over anchor George Stephanopoulos' inaccurate on-air assertion that the president-elect had been found civilly liable for raping writer E. Jean Carroll. As part of the settlement made public Saturday, ABC News posted an editor's note to its website expressing regret over Stephanopoulos' statements during a March 10 segment on his “This Week” program. The network will also pay $1 million in legal fees to the law firm of Trump’s attorney, Alejandro Brito. The settlement agreement describes ABC's presidential library payment as a “charitable contribution," with the money

The entire country met Minnesota’s own Tampon Tim Walz this past August when Kamala Harris selected him as her running mate. The more the country saw him, the less it liked him. Walz thrilled Democrats in convention assembled when he called Trump running mate J.D. Vance “weird.” That proved a poor choice of words on Walz’s part. The more the country saw Walz, the weirder it thought he was. He made a poor vice presidential candidate. Taking the path of least resistance under fire, he declared himself “a knucklehead.” He is worse than that, but it was a revealing concession. In the glare of the national spotlight Walz was exposed

For years, we've been told that recycling is the best way to keep the planet healthy and reduce pollution. Even as a child, I can remember that being impressed upon me in school, with more than one guest presentation, including songs, being taught to us to get it firmly in our heads that we need to recycle. To this day, I still feel guilt when

New, shocking revelations have emerged regarding the USCP officer who shot and killed Ashli Babbitt on January 6th, 2021. According to a new report, then-Lt. Michael Byrd, who claims to have saved "countless lives" that day, was paid tens of thousands of dollars in taxpayer money after the shooting and even demanded cash from a memorial fund meant for the families of slain officers. The report also reveals Byrd's long history of professional misconduct. Naturally, after a House Oversight subcommittee requested more information, the USCP claimed it could not find any records associated with the officer's disciplinary record. One Internal Affairs investigation involved him leaving his post to play cards.

Earlier this week President Biden wandered up the street from the White House to the Brookings Institution. At Brookings Biden regurgitated the talking points he has cited in support of his economic record. The White House has posted the text of his speech under the groaning title Remarks by President Biden on His Middle-Out, Bottom-Up Economic Playbook.” I have posted the Reuters video at the bottom. Biden was introduced by Brookings co-chairman Glenn Hutchins and, more briefly, by Brookings president Cecilia Rouse. From 2021 to 2023, Rouse served as Chair of the White House Council of Economic Advisers. According to her, “inequality and climate change” are what it’s all about.

Scorched earth is one of the most brutal strategies in war. It can be an offensive or a defensive strategy and usually leaves a wasteland of destruction and starvation in its wake. It seems that Joe Biden, on his way out of the Oval Office, is using this strategy against America. One of the most famous examples of an offensive use of scorched earth is Sherman’s “March to the Sea“ from Atlanta to Savannah from November to December 1864. Sherman not only burned Atlanta to the ground, but he also left a trail of destruction for a wide swath all the way to the ocean, everything from military targets to infrastructure

Barack Obama had long been rumored as the catalyst for the 2020 Biden nomination—and thereafter played the whispering puppeteer behind the subsequent lost Biden administration years. As such he and his coterie proved the virtual architects of the Biden administration, one of the most unpopular and failed presidencies in American history. Recall earlier that after a flailing candidate Joe Biden lost the first three 2020 primaries and caucuses, his inert campaign was headed nowhere. Barack Obama and fellow Democratic insiders abruptly engineered the withdrawal of his rival 2020 presidential candidates: hard left but likely sure-loser candidates, including Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, and Pete Buttigieg. He is of course the guy who solicited the corrupt statement signed by the Dirty 51 impugning the authenticity of the evidence found on Hunter Biden’s laptop. That may have been a stroke of evil genius, but Blinken sounds like the man who taught Joe Biden everything he “knows” about world affairs and grand strategy over the course of Biden’s life in public office over the past 50 years. Yet Blinken is only 62. It’s possible, but unlikely. Perhaps it was John Kerry.

If your third-grader is competing in the 2025 Scripps National Spelling Bee, good news: “W-O-M-Y-N” is now an acceptable spelling of “women.” (What a time to be alive!) In fact, “W-O-M-Y-N” is explicitly listed on the National Spelling Bee’s list of 50 “study words” that’s distributed to third-graders. Nobody knows when spoken language began, but written language developed independently in Mesopotamia, Egypt, China, and Mesoamerica. Presumably, shortly after the emergence of writing, was the emergence of the crotchety, ornery, spinster schoolteacher who’d shame you before the class when you misspelled a word.
