The Biden administration has made a precedent-setting arrest related to anti-climate change activities this fiscal year, highlighted in a new report that shows a ramped-up enforcement effort against environmental offenses. On Thursday, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) issued a final report on enforcement efforts under President Biden, which detailed how climate-related penalties were enforced this fiscal year.

...hydrofluorocarbons, a synthetic compound commonly used for refrigeration or air conditioning, by 85% by 2036..." Every few years another refrigerant is banned by the 94% of EPA employees who aren't in the office.

Terrible article. The arrest is mentioned in about one sentence, and no clarification of what, exactly he was accused of doing. The rest of the article is a bunch of background stuff seeming to have very little to do with the arrest story.

Poster #2 says exactly what I cam here to post. The headline is clickbait and the article does not really provide any information. Perhaps if the headline was different I may have found the information useful, but I kept looking for more about why the guy was arrested.

I googled him, he was brining in refrigerant from Mexico and reselling it, no doubt to people who need to keep their older ACs running and can’t afford to replace their entire HVAC systems. The administration throws the book at this guy, but smuggle in illegal aliens from Mexico and the administration greets them with open arms, EBT cards, plane tickets, Obamaphones, “free” healthcare and of course, voter registration.

Didn't the Supreme Court say that bureaucrats / Agences cannot write the rules and regulations: Congress does. If the rules and regulations that are being enforced by the EPA were made up by desk jockeys in Washington DC but enforced as law, any enforcement of those rules and regulations should be illegal per the SC ruling. The EPA is ripe for DOGE review and cuts to get them under control and stop the "climate change" agenda.

The EPA is power mad and out of control. We have a small creek that runs in front of our historical society building. It occasionally get clogged with brush. This is a small creek that you can almost jump across and we have to file with the EPA before we can clean it out.

Daniel Penny has been found not guilty of criminally negligent homicide in the chokehold death of Jordan Neely on a New York City subway car in 2023. Penny, 26, pleaded not guilty to charges of second-degree manslaughter and criminally negligent homicide. The judge dismissed the second-degree manslaughter charge against Penny on Friday after jurors said they could not come to a unanimous decision. The jury could only consider the negligent homicide charge if Penny was cleared of manslaughter, which is what the dismissal did.

Bashar al-Assad has been overthrown, fleeing Damascus after a rapid rebel advance. But the Syrian dictator is far from the only president likely to be despairing today, for Vladimir Putin is another big loser here. For Putin, the collapse of the Syrian regime and removal of Assad from power poses two critical problems. Firstly, it represents a critical strategic loss. Secondly, it represents a stark decline in Russia’s global prestige. Russia now seems almost certain to permanently lose both its naval base at Tartus and its air base at Latakia, its only such bases in the Middle East. The loss of Tartus is particularly painful, as the base allowed Russia to

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg is trying to "strong-arm" the jury in the Daniel Penny case into deciding on a verdict by dismissing manslaughter charges when they appeared deadlocked, former U.S. assistant attorney Andy McCarthy says. "Bragg added a baseless recklessness charge to the indictment so the jury would have two counts, increasing the odds of conviction by giving the jury something to compromise on," McCarthy wrote in National Review. The manslaughter charge required prosecutors to prove that Penny acted with recklessness when he put mentally ill homeless man Jordan Neely in a chokehold on May 1, 2023. Neely had barged onto a subway car while high on drugs, threatening

Calvin Coolidge was taciturn by nature, it’s true. But the nickname obscures important elements of his life and career. For example, did you know that Coolidge starred in what is today known as Franklin Roosevelt’s medium, radio? Or that as president, he gave hundreds of press conferences and established “a record for speechmaking in the last two decades,” according to the New York Times? Or that Coolidge wrote his own speeches? Or that his Autobiography stands as “the forgotten classic of presidential writing,” in the words of historian Craig Fehrman? “The words of the President have an enormous weight,” Coolidge wrote, “and ought not to be used indiscriminately.”

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg's office has been aggressively pushing for the media to note that if convicted of second-degree manslaughter at trial, Marine veteran Daniel Penny faces no mandatory minimum prison term, Penny's lawyers told the judge this week. The 26-year-old aspiring architect would face a maximum punishment of 15 years behind bars, if convicted for Jordan Neely's death on a Manhattan F train. Neely rushed onto a subway car with women and children, shouted that someone would "die today," and warned that he wasn't afraid to go to prison for life. Penny grabbed him in a chokehold or headlock, took him to the ground, and he later died.

President Biden's decision to use his presidential powers on Sunday to pardon his own son will be a decision that lives in infamy in presidential politics. It is not just that the president used his constitutional powers to benefit his family. It is because the action culminates years of lying to the public about his knowledge and intentions in the influence-peddling scandal surrounding his family. Even among past controversies about the use of this pardon power, Biden has cemented his legacy for many, not as the commander in chief, but as the liar in chief.

The letter, first reviewed by Reuters, comes as Ukraine has re-upped its request for NATO membership to help put an end to Russia's war, including a recent uptick in attacks on its energy infrastructure. It also comes as the Biden administration has granted Ukraine new permissions to fight back against Russia in their final months in office.

President Joe Biden delivered a short address from the White House on Sunday, claiming credit for the toppling of the regime of Syrian dictator Bashar Assad, who was ousted by rebels after a long and brutal reign lasting decades. Biden claimed that a combination of U.S. policies — isolating Assad; tying Russia down in Ukraine; and allowing Israel freedom of action against Iran and its Hezbollah proxy — weakened the regime and left it without defenders. Biden said: Over the past four years, my administration pursued a clear, principled policy towards Syria. First, we made clear from the start that sanctions on Assad would remain in place unless

The re-opening of the Notre Dame Cathedral, which suffered extensive fire damage in 2019, occurred on Saturday, and dozens of world leaders were on hand for the festivities. There was one notable absence, though. President Joe Biden was nowhere to be found. Instead, Jill Biden showed up with her daughter. That alone spurred questions given the president has long claimed to be a "devout Catholic." Yet, he couldn't be bothered to show up for a once-in-a-lifetime event that other world leaders flocked to? Of course, while the White House will likely claim a scheduling conflict (there was nothing on the president's schedule for Saturday),

This is too funny. For President Trump at Notre Dame, it’s an ordinary walk to his seat, except something happened. It starts out with Poland’s President Andrzej Duda standing up to greet President Donald Trump. They are friends, and Duda is one of the EU heads of state that is seriously thrilled to see President Trump return (Hungary’s Orban is another). However, after Duda stands things get funny because all the other dignitaries then feel obligated to stand and greet President Trump. President Trump ended up turning his simple walk to his seat, into a reception line of foreign dignitaries who stood at attention to greet him.
