The Department of Justice announced the arrest of Chinese national Shenghua Wen Tuesday on a series of weapons trafficking and illegal possession charges. Wen is in the U.S. illegally after overstaying a student visa.
"According to an affidavit filed on Nov. 26 with the complaint, Wen obtained firearms, ammunition, and export-controlled technology with the intention of shipping them to North Korea — a violation of federal law and United States sanctions against that nation. Wen and his co-conspirators allegedly exported shipments of firearms and ammunition to North Korea by concealing the items inside shipping containers that were shipped from Long Beach through Hong Kong to North Korea,"

President Joe Biden didn’t pardon Hunter because he’s a loving father who thinks his drug addict son was treated unfairly by the Justice Department. He pardoned Hunter to help cover up his own crimes, just as he’ll likely pardon other members of his family... He’s trying to protect himself, and this is one of the only ways he has left to do it. [Snip] In the end, the president might keep his son and other family members out of jail with last-minute pardons, but once the truth comes out,...,Biden will likely go down in history as one of the most corrupt presidents in American history.

President-elect Donald Trump is considering replacing Pete Hegseth, his controversial pick to lead the Pentagon, with one-time 2024 rival, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, people familiar with the discussions told The Wall Street Journal Tuesday.
The move comes as Hegseth, a 44-year-old Army veteran and former Fox News personality, faces increasing scrutiny over allegations of sexual misconduct and financial mismanagement. The defense secretary post requires Senate confirmation and Hegseth faces an increasingly uphill battle to win over GOP members with concerns about his past.

The California federal judge overseeing Hunter Biden’s tax charges issued a scathing five-page ruling in response to President Joe Biden’s pardon of his son, saying that the president justified his pardon with reasons that are false and offensive.
Judge Mark C. Scarsi wrote Tuesday that the reasons listed in “the President’s statement” for pardoning his son “stand in tension with the case record,” and while the president has the power to pardon, “nowhere does the Constitution give the President the authority to rewrite history.”

Today, Nate Cohn has an analysis of polling data collected by the NY Times and Siena College. What it shows is exactly what this earlier Vox article also found. Democrats did not lose the 2024 election because of turnout. Put another way, they didn't lose because the progressive base was unenthusiastic and decided to stay home. They lost because swing voters turned away from them and toward Donald Trump.
The low turnout among traditionally Democratic-leaning groups — especially nonwhite voters — was a reflection of lower support for Harris: Millions of Democrats soured on their party

It's not like this is a particular secret. It is common knowledge in political circles that the organization facilitates "smurfing," which is a method of laundering illegal campaign contributions through straw donors. It is a way to break up enormous political contributions that exceed campaign contribution limits into smaller donations that evade scrutiny.
Over the years the organization has gotten ever more blatant, laundering contributions through the identities of real people by making contributions in their names without their knowledge.

In dealing with his enemies in the Deep State, President Trump could follow one of two paths. One would be the path of peace, reconciliation, and forgiveness. This would certainly be easier in the short term and also garner approval from insiders and the media. Alternatively, he could seek to clean house and punish the worst and most insubordinate offenders from his first term. Which path Trump should take all depends on whether one believes the last eight years were normal partisan squabbles or if one believes that something monumental happened

The Biden administration might be in its final days but that doesn’t mean the flow of lethal U.S. weaponry to Ukraine shows any sign of slowing. Far from it.
That was confirmed Monday when an additional $725 million in military assistance, including counter-drone systems and munitions for its High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS), was announced by the White House.
AP reports it is unclear whether the munitions for the HIMARS are the coveted ATACMS — the Army Tactical Missile System — but Ukraine has been pressing for more of the longer-range missiles to strike additional targets inside Russia.

Goldberg launched straight into her defense of Biden during the ABC TV show’s “Hot Topics” segment by rattling off a list of people President-elect Donald Trump pardoned during his first term, including Roger Stone and Michael Flynn.
“That’s what presidents do every time. They do it every time, they pardon somebody, so I’m not sure why the pearl-clutching is happening now,

The word on the streets of D.C. and among the media swells is that Democrats are demoralized, shocked, and devastated, that they are blaming everyone but themselves and Kamala Harris for their losses. Only Carville is furious at the right people — young, arrogant campaign workers and Kamala herself. Curiously, it was Carville who once said “When you dehumanize a group, there’s lasting consequences because they know that they’re being dehumanized.” Well dehumanize us they certainly did. And even Carville realized that Kamala was a terrible candidate; Walz was worse.

A New Yorker who was kidnapped by Hamas on Oct. 7 was confirmed dead on Monday, according to the Israeli military.
Omer Neutra, 21, had long been assumed to be alive, but was actually killed during the terrorist attack, with his body taken to the Gaza Strip by Hamas, the Israel Defense Forces said.
Neutra, of Plainview, Long Island, had been serving as an IDF tank commander. “Omer was a man of values, blessed with talents and a Zionist in every sense of the word,” Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in a statement. “He immigrated to Israel to enlist in the IDF,

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre claimed Monday that President Biden pardoned his son Hunter Biden of tax and gun crimes because “war politics” prompted Hunter’s prosecution — while insisting the Justice Department is not broadly politically biased, as President-elect Donald Trump claims.
Jean-Pierre used the term “war politics” three times as she fielded fiery questions aboard Air Force One from journalists as Biden, 82, flew to Angola for an official visit hours after the pardon, which Biden said was necessary because his son was being “selectively, and unfairly, prosecuted.”
“Karine, when the president says that the justice system is infected with politics,

A New Jersey lawyer was tossed out of a town council meeting by cops last week for waving an American flag to protest a “stupid” new rule that bans so-called “props” from being used during the meetings.
Joel Bassoff, a local resident and attorney, was ordered to be removed from the Edison Township Council meeting after he pulled out the star-spangled banner while addressing council members on Nov. 25, footage obtained by New Brunswick Today shows.
Bassoff was among the slew of furious locals who were voicing their objections over the township’s new ordinance that prohibits them from using any props — including the flag and even the US Constitution —

A Delaware judge ruled on Monday that Tesla (TSLA.O), opens new tab CEO Elon Musk still is not entitled to receive a $56 billion compensation package despite shareholders of the electric vehicle company voting in June to reinstate it.
The ruling by the judge, Chancellor Kathaleen McCormick of the Court of Chancery, follows her January decision that called the pay package excessive and rescinded it, surprising investors, and cast uncertainty over Musk's future at the world's most valuable carmaker. In a post on X after the decision, Musk said that "shareholders should control company votes, not judges."

Vivek Ramaswamy eviscerated a reported agreement that New York City would pay up to $220 million to a Pakistani-owned hotel in Manhattan to house illegal migrants.
"A taxpayer-funded hotel for illegal migrants is owned by the Pakistani government, which means NYC taxpayers are effectively paying a foreign government to house illegals in our own country. This is nuts," Ramaswamy wrote on X. [SNIP] The agreement was expected to generate revenues of up to $220 million USD "for the Pakistani government."

One will be hard-pressed to find a more debilitating and humiliating experience this year for a member of Congress than what happened to Rep. Dan Goldman (D-NY) on CNN today.
As The Gateway Pundit’s Kristinn Taylor reported, Joe Biden last night granted his son Hunter Biden a blanket pardon in the federal gun and tax cases against him Sunday night after promising several times he would never do so.
The pardon, which covers any federal crimes by Hunter from 2014 to 2024, ends a case that was blown open by IRS whistleblowers who spoke out after the Biden Justice Department slow-walked an investigation into Hunter. This allowed

President Biden was adamant that his son “Hunter was treated differently” when he broke his public pledge and issued a rare sweeping pardon spanning almost 11 years for his troubled son late Sunday.
But the 54-year-old is far from the only one to have been charged with similar firearm and tax evasion crimes.
Several legal experts believe that he already received favorable treatment than others who have committed comparable transgressions.

Good old ‘Hanoi’ Jane Fonda recently appeared on Bill Maher’s podcast and played dumb on the topic of fare left policies.
When Maher suggested that the extreme left is one of the reasons that Joe Biden lost the election, Fonda stupidly asks him ‘who is the far left?’ as if she doesn’t know. When Maher uses the example of leftists saying that men can get pregnant, she claims to have never heard anyone say this.
Maher tells her that she likely watches media that never tells her any of this, which is likely correct. Fonda is probably MSNBC’s number one fan.

The Hunter Biden pardon is an outrage.
It is not just leniency for Hunter’s two criminal convictions, it’s part of a long-running coverup of the alleged influence-peddling operation perpetrated by the whole Biden family – including Joe.
If we let this go without further investigation and exposure, the Bidens will walk away from the White House with no accountability for their alleged ill-gotten gains.he Hunter pardon was a shock, but not a surprise. Nobody seriously believed Joe when he vowed repeatedly not to pardon his son. Nobody believed hapless White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre when she was sent out many times to repeat the lie.

Oh, the shamelessness of Karine Jean-Pierre: The White House press secretary on Monday defended President Biden’s pardon of son Hunter as justified because of “how politically infected these cases were” — that “war politics infected the process and it led to a miscarriage of justice.”
What garbage.
First off, KJP herself had insisted repeatedly and vehemently that Joe wouldn’t pardon Hunter — even after the First Son was convicted.
Is she claiming the “political infection” somehow popped up in the last two months?
Second, all the prosecuting was done by the Biden Justice Department, yet she has not a word of blame for Attorney General Merrick Garland for failing to stop the “infection.”

Special Prosecutor David Weiss says Hunter Biden's tax crimes cannot be dismissed – despite his father's presidential pardon.
Hunter's lawyers filed papers asking a California judge to dismiss the case as soon as Joe Biden pardoned him on Sunday.
But in a response on Monday, Weiss, the senior Justice Department official who ran the prosecutions against the felon First Son, argued that it's not that simple.(Video) In their filing, Weiss and his prosecutors Leo Wise and Derek Hines slammed Hunter's lawyers for trying to 'blot out guilt' and erase the shocking deeds he admitted to in court.
They said that the court should instead close the case with a note acknowledging

California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) convened the state legislature for a special session on Monday designed to “Trump-proof” the state, including by passing $25 million for use in lawsuits against the incoming administration.
As Breitbart News noted after the election in November, Newsom announced the special session — not to deal with pressing problems facing the state, but rather for the political purpose of leading the so-called “resistance” (i.e. opposition) to President-elect Donald Trump. Trump responded on Truth Social, saying Newsom was “using the term ‘Trump-Proof’ as a way of stopping all of the GREAT things that can be done to ‘Make California Great Again’.”
