Trump and Thanksgiving

We’re always living in history, of course, but there are times when we’re more aware of it than usual. In the years after 9/11...America seemed increasingly adrift. Or, if not adrift, ...of being transported by some ungovernable current... [Snip] The advent of Trump was an eye-opener. [Snip] He was human. He was real. He wasn’t one of the careerist hacks we’d become used to when election time came around. He was a billionaire who’d dipped his toe into these dirty waters because he saw that America was headed in the wrong direction and realized that things were getting too urgent for him not to do anything about it.

Comments:

The author points out President Trump has surrounded himself with a “Dream Team of brilliant, fearless Americans from outside the Beltway...genuinely patriotic...as determined as he is...to hand the country back to its rightful owners” going so far as to suggest they look more like “the Founding Fathers.” It is the author’s hope, as well as MAGA supporters, that President Trump “turns out to be one of the Republic’s greatest presidents—a deliverer of peace and prosperity and a champion of freedom.” Grace and blessings on your path, Mr. President!

Contrast this Thanksgiving with that of 4 years ago. For me, optimism has replaced anguish. Calm has replaced anger (over the blatant fraud that stole the 2020 election). And I have piece of mind, knowing that an experienced Donald Trump (who learns lessons well) will grant no quarter for the vanquished - democrats, bureaucrats, and latent deep staters alike. This Thanksgiving, I feel very good about the future of our nation.

I'm thankful for the author who so eloquently put into words so many of the thoughts I've been trying to organize in my brain. And I'm thankful for Harlowe, having posted yet another good find. God has once again powerfully shed His grace on America. It's truly undeserved, truly humbling, for which I'm truly thankful. God bless President Trump and God bless the unseen friends in this forum and God bless America.

Does anyone remember the kerfuffle when Trump made that statement against McCain? Trump went on Fox and Friends morning show shortly thereafter where they asked him about that. I fully expected that to be the end of his campaign or have him apologize and stumble on. To my delight Trump just laughed and blew it off like the non story it really was. I boarded the Trump train that morning and have been a passenger ever since.

#2~ With heartfelt humility, thank you. Indeed, “God has once again powerfully shed His grace on America” and it is truly undeserved for which MAGA patriots are profoundly grateful. May we respect His grace and strive to restore our country to its founding of “In God We Trust” and religious morality to live accordingly.

Shot, smeared daily, lied about, called Hitler and worse for the last few years. A lesser man would have said the heck with it, retired to Mar-a-lago with his billions and played golf every day.

On Thanksgiving Day in 1944, a young American platoon sergeant named Mac St. Johns led his men on a scouting mission in the French countryside. They were looking for German soldiers known to be in the area. [Snip] But a voice in his head told him not to do so. [Snip] As we celebrate Thanksgiving this year, many of us are also celebrating President Trump’s election victory. [Snip] If we have been given a second chance this year, let us be supremely grateful. Let us be penitent. Let us demonstrate wisdom. [Snip] Above all else: let us be still…and listen.

Russian President Vladimir Putin praised U.S. President-elect Donald Trump on Thursday as an experienced and intelligent politician, but said he did not believe Trump was safe after attempts on his life. [Snip] Speaking to reporters in Kazakhstan...said he had been shocked by the way the U.S. election campaign had unfolded. He cited "the absolutely uncivilised methods used to battle against Trump, up to and including an assassination attempt--and more than once". [Snip] ...he had been even more shocked though by how Trump's family and children had been criticised by political opponents during the U.S. election campaign.

EXCLUSIVE: Nearly a dozen of President-elect Donald Trump’s Cabinet nominees and other appointees tapped for the incoming administration were targeted Tuesday night with "violent, unAmerican threats to their lives and those who live with them," prompting a "swift" law enforcement response, Fox News Digital has learned. The "attacks ranged from bomb threats to ‘swatting," according to Trump-Vance transition spokeswoman and incoming White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt. Sources told Fox News Digital that John Racliffe, the nominee to be CIA director, Pete Hegseth, the nominee for secretary of defense, and Rep. Elise Stefanik, the nominee for UN ambassador, were among those targeted.

Bill Wells, the mayor of El Cajon, California, claimed in a Monday post on X that the State of California “is threatening to take pensions and charge police officers with felonies if they comply with federal deportation laws. [Snip] Wells makes it clear that El Cajon, a city of approximately 100,000 people located 17 miles east of San Diego, is not a sanctuary city and that his police officers “are being put in an impossible position.” [Snip] If they comply with federal immigration authorities, they risk felony charges and losing their hard-earned pensions. Legal Insurrection readers will recall that in my post on the United Nations climate conference in Azerbaijan this week, its president boldly declared that oil and gas were a ‘gift from God’. The eco-activists attending the event were enraged. [Snip] The Czech division of the International Climate Intelligence Group (Clintel) organized a two-day climate conference in Prague on November 12-13, 2024, where climate scientists declared that the “climate emergency” is over. The conference concluded with a communiqué drafted by the participating scientists and researchers that targeted the climate hysteria promoted by the United Nations body, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).

There has been a lot of commentary about the abusiveness and unlawfulness of the International Criminal Court issuing arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant. [Snip] But the ICC is more than a corrupted institution, it’s a dangerous institution. Not only were its claims substantively contrived, it reached way beyond its jurisdiction, as Israel (like the U.S., China, Russia, India, and others) is not a member. [Snip] If they can issue an arrest warrant for Bibi Netanyahu, they can issue an arrest warrant for an American president.

Rob Reiner’s X account, which boasted 2.3 million followers, was no longer accessible as of Thursday, with the platform returning a message that the account “doesn’t exist.” As one of Hollywood’s most reliable Democrat fundraisers and cheerleaders, Reiner used his X account to champion establishment party politicians —

California Attorney General Rob Bonta issued a list of suggestions Nov. 26 for shoppers to avoid scams during the holiday season and requested consumers file reports about department stores that lack gender-neutral children’s sections. State law, established by the passage of Assembly Bill 1084 in 2021, which took effect at the beginning of 2024, requires department stores with at least 500 employees across California locations to offer children’s sections that do not separate items based on gender. “By requiring large retailers to maintain a gender-neutral section, AB 1084 makes it more difficult for these retailers to engage in gender-based pricing discrimination and reduces the imposition of gender stereotypes on children,”

What is happening in Britain today could all too easily happen here, and that’s why every American should note the rising tide of antisemitism there, and particularly its frankly and unapologetically menacing edge. GB News reported Wednesday that “leaflets with the writing ‘every Zionist needs to leave Britain or be slaughtered’ were found spread around the streets of Hendon, a predominantly Jewish neighbourhood in north London.” The message itself was bad enough, but the fact that it has gotten so little attention was a disquieting indication of how much antisemitism has already become normalized amidst the left’s relentless propaganda campaign to isolate and demonize Israel
