With the early primary polls on her side, Democrat Party insiders say Kamala Harris is thinking seriously about trying again for the presidency in 2028.
“Of course, she’s going to try and run again,” someone the Daily Mail describes as a “well-connected Democratic strategist,” told the outlet. The strategist added that Kamala’s ambition is only one thing driving this decision.
“Despite some hesitation, Harris has generated a lot of sympathetic reactions from professional Democrats in Washington,” reports the Daily Mail. “They describe her campaign as ‘near flawless’ but say she struggled to separate herself from President Joe Biden’s record.”

Jaguar’s managing director responded to the backlash the company received over its new advertisement featuring androgynous models but not a single car, saying the ad was “bold” and never intended to be “woke,” adding that the company’s message was lost “in a blaze of intolerance” by critics on social media.
“If we play in the same way that everybody else does, we’ll just get drowned out. So we shouldn’t turn up like an auto brand,” Jaguar managing director Rawdon Glover told Financial Times.

Joe Biden broke down in tears as Jill hailed her 'husband and hero' during the president's final farewell dinner at the White House, but there were no signs of Kamala Harris.
The outgoing US President was overcome with emotion as the First Lady paid tribute to his decades of service during a party on the South Lawn thanking Democrat supporters and donors.
On Friday evening, Jill praised her husband's 40 years of service, including his last four years as the President of the United States.

Denver Mayor Mike Johnston suggested last week that he could use police officers to prevent federal immigration officers from entering his city to carry out mass deportations when President-elect Donald Trump returns to office.
"More than us having [Denver police] stationed at the county line to keep them out, you would have 50,000 Denverites there," Johnston, a Democrat, told the news website Denverite. "It's like the Tiananmen Square moment with the rose and the gun, right? You'd have every one of those Highland moms who came out for the migrants. And you do not want to mess with them."

Advisers to Robert F. Kennedy Jr. reached out to the Health and Human Services Department multiple times after Donald Trump tapped him to lead the massive agency, hoping to jumpstart coordination before his takeover in late January. They were rebuffed.
Kennedy’s inability to communicate with the agency he may soon manage, confirmed by an administration official with knowledge of the episodes granted anonymity to describe internal deliberations, is just one consequence of the president-elect’s continued foot-dragging on signing the standard trio of ethics and transparency agreements with the federal government — something his team pledged to do shortly after the election.

A new memoir by former “World News Now” anchor Kendis Gibson depicts a workplace culture at ABC News fraught with alleged hazing, bullying and racism — which he alleges contributed to a suicide attempt.
Gibson’s book, “Five Trips: An Investigative Journey into Mental Health, Psychedelic Healing and Saving a Life,” chronicles his nearly five-year journey experimenting with illegal drugs to combat mental health issues, including depression, panic attacks and suicidal ideation, which he claims was amplified while working at ABC.
In 2014, Gibson started his dream job as a correspondent at ABC News — recounting that he received a “heartwarming reception” from the “Good Morning America” bunch:

It wasn’t that long ago that I was typing the words “Kamala Harris” dozens of times a day. Then suddenly… it stopped. Elections had consequences for my keyboard. Her name has still been in the news, mostly because her campaign is still trying to collect money even after raking in over one billion dollars during election season. Just to show you how great she would have been on the economy, she somehow ended up millions in debt.
Mostly, however, she’s been pretty silent—and now we know why. Like he ever-vacationing boss Joe Biden, Harris is taking some leisure time, though she’s not relaxing in Rehoboth Beach, she’s sunning in Hawaii.

Maybe Pfizer could concoct a vaccine to prevent the transmission of Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS). Or at least lessen its symptoms. That would actually benefit people, both here and abroad.
Case in point: filmmaker, producer, and actor Rob Reiner, AKA “Meathead,” recently found himself in the grip of a particularly debilitating bout with TDS.
Not long after Election Day, Reiner tweeted: “I’m finding it very hard to sleep these days. It is 3:15 am. I am laying awake dreading January 20th 2025.”
He subsequently added, “I have big decisions to make. For the good of myself, my family, and my country.” Really, oh self-important one, what decisions are those?

Happy Tuesday, dear Kruiser Morning Briefing friends. Nobody wants to hear about Granyard's lip balm preferences.
We're dishing up extra helpings of "elections have consequences" here today
A lot of loathsome government characters have been foisted upon American citizens since early 2020. At first, it was the COVID tyrants who were sowing misery throughout the land. Just when we thought that no one could be more awful than Anthony Fauci and his mask Nazis, the "J6 WAS AN INSURRECTIONNNNNNNNN!" nutters began stinking up the joint.
It's difficult to choose the worst of that crowd — they're all awful human beings —

The Muslim schoolgirl who accused her teacher of Islamophobia and began rumours that led to a jihadist decapitating him in the street in France has admitted lying and apologised to the victim's family in a remarkable court hearing today.
History and geography Samuel Paty was murdered on October 16, 2020 by Abdoullakh Anzorov, an 18-year-old Islamist radical of Chechen origin.
Anzorov tracked down 47-year-old Paty and brutally hacked his head off after seeing pictures and videos of him circulated on social media as part of a ruthless campaign of harassment.

How bad are things at CNN and MSNBC? So bad that they were both recently beaten in ratings by the Hallmark Channel.
We are just three weeks off of one of the most contentious and historic presidential elections in recent history and more people are watching the Hallmark Channel than the supposed journalists and political analysts of CNN or MSNBC.
One has to wonder how CNN justifies Anderson Cooper’s $20 million dollar salary when people would rather watch Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story.

Rivian (RIVN.O), opens new tab said on Monday it has received conditional approval for a loan of up to $6.6 billion from the U.S. Department of Energy to build the electric vehicle maker's production facility in Georgia.
The announcement comes ahead of the inauguration of President-elect Donald Trump, who is expected to undo many of the Biden administration's EV-friendly policies and incentives.
Operation of the Georgia plant, where Rivian plans to build future vehicles such as its smaller, less expensive R2 SUVs and R3 crossovers, will begin in 2028, the California-based startup said in a statement.

Mr. Goodman was treated for his pain and discomfort with ibuprophen, Tylenol, and anti-nausea medication. Unfortunately, in a later incident, Mr. Goodman lost consciousness on his way back from the prison library and was put in a wheelchair to be taken to the medical wing but a front wheel fell off, the wheelchair lunged forward, wrenching his neck. On the whole, Mr. Goodman reports that “the staff has been quite professional, several even being understanding or sympathetic” during his anguish as well as kindness from fellow prisoners—some “also political prisoners.” Prayers and blessings for Mr. Goodman.
