Thune, Cornyn or Scott?

REPOST BY REQUEST: I say gently, don’t look for President Trump to expend valuable political capital on this.
Senator John Thune has been groomed by Mitch McConnell to be his replacement for decades. Thune’s ascension to the role of Senate Majority Leader was, maybe is, essentially a foregone conclusion.
Senator Thune will carry the full support of roughly 15-to-20 senate DeceptiCons (deceptive conservatives), and perhaps a dozen more squishy ones in the middle who want great committee positions. The important dynamic that comes into play is Senate Committee Chairman “leverage” for Donald Trump’s nominees.

He's not even in office yet and the sabotage begins, from our own side even. We really are doomed as a nation.

Scott although I have others I would prefer but NO to Thune and Cornyn - who like McConnell - did nothing to help Kari Lake in AZ or Sam Brown in Nevada.

Warning from NYC: Thune is every rich Manhattan liberal's favorite "sane" Republican.

I prefer Scott. I live in Florida and he was a Great Governor for us! I think Cornyn and Thune are yes men for McConnell. I think Scott will work best with Trump!

RINO John Thune is a major fetch-dog for RINO Mitch "MultiUselessMultiFreeze" McConnell. They enjoy Smoke-Filled-Rooms.

This move by uniparty McConnell shows that a majority in the senate means nothing. I can name at least 4 republican senators who are really democrats, and will only vote with Trump if it means protecting their seat of power.

We badly need a change from more of the same McConnell clique. Cornyn and Thune are known for doing nothing but being McConnell lapdogs. Scott is the best choice.

Scott .. or JD Vance
I know Cornyn well. He is a bitter Democrat never-Trumper akin to Liz Cheney. He supports gun control and sponsored a bill for it. He was one of people behind the scenes against Ken Paxton (TX AG) in an absolute fake prosecution done to try to get rid of an especially effective anti-Biden AG.

Scott. Call your senators and make your voices heard. One of mine, Hagerty, already supports Scott, but Blackburn has lost my confidence over the years. I'll be calling her anyway.

Interesting article. We should anticipate McConnel and his corps of RINOs would kick it hard as they can on his way out. No, Trump should throw support behind Scott -- what difference does it make for him not to?

I was a delegate to the 2022 Texas Republican Convention.
John Cornyn was actually booed off the stage, unable to finish his speech.
His only useful roll for the rest of his term in the Senate, is to be 1 number
to count in the narrow majority.

Cornyn is rotten to the core, for certain. Thune, probably so, too. Scott seems the best of this group.

Scott is a good choice but I’d prefer someone like Cruz or Cotton. McConnell’s flunkies the three John’s Cornyn. Thune and Bassario are stinking RINOs. They show not be considered.

If McConnell trained him Thune cannot be worth a damn.
Which is one more reason to believe RINO's and squishy Republicans will make him their leader.

Assuming it's not Scott, why would the result have to be accepted? A new Senate begins the 1st week of January. Let them decide.

Agree that Scott is the correct choice. Washington (both parties) has thwarted Trump's agenda at every turn. That's not likely to change.

Cornyn of Texas a particularly odious Deep State lapdog. Thune would be carbon copy of Mitch. Rick Scott is the man. It is OUR job to get on the phones and email and slam our Senator with demands they better vote for Scott. This is an enormously important time and we cannot sit back and allow McConnell to continue to rule from behind Thune/Cornyn. I am sending Senator Cruz many messages that I expect him to oppose go along get along no change Thune/Cornyn changes.

Same ole, same oh with these folk. They think we gave them the majority to keep doing the same thing. We have to let them know we gave Trump a mandate and that mandate applies to their behinds. No more RINO shenanigans. I'm stuck with Tim and Lindsay. Tim will be okay, but Lindsay will be McCain all day until six months from the 2026 election. In SC, we have to work to do better than both Tim Scott and Lindsay. Hopefully, Tim will get a spot in the Trump administration, which I believe is his aim. We can at least replace him with a real MAGA conservative.

I’m glad that the Senate got flipped to a Republican majority. I just wish that all Republican senators were willing to work with him. Those that have a bad case of TDS do more harm by obstructing him just for spite.

Senators don't like to be told what to do.
McConnell will get his boy Thune installed.
Really depressing that McConnell is so self centered
