New York CNN — US stocks rose sharply Wednesday morning following a decisive and consequential victory for former President Donald Trump in Tuesday’s US presidential election. The Dow soared 1,309 points, or 3% in morning trading, reaching a new high. This is the first time the Dow has gained more than 1,000 points in a single day since November 2022. If the Dow maintains its implied gains throughout the trading session, it will mark the sixth-best point gain ever for the index — but nowhere close to a record percentage gain. The S&P 500 and the tech-heavy Nasdaq both rose by 1.9%.

Last time Trump was elected, if you had your 401K in the Dow Index, you gained about 60% the first year.

I'm loving this. When I retired we guessed how long the money would last based on all the factors we could anticipate. If this keeps up I may not have to die at all.

Americans didn't vote for Donald Trump because they wanted to "preserve norms," whatever that could possibly mean coming from the mouths of people who broke every political rule in the book to destroy him. Presented with as clear a choice as possible between the establishment and a crew determined to crush it, Americans were very clear: TEAR IT DOWN. Trump didn't run to be a modest correction to the status quo, and he didn't win because of any particular policy proposal. He won because a majority of Americans are disgusted by our establishment and how it has abused us.

PARIS — French President Emmanuel Macron warmly welcomed Donald Trump back to the White House, in the first message of congratulations from a major U.S. ally to the Republican candidate. The French president wrote on X he was “ready to work together” with Trump, “as [they] did during four years,” in a reference to the former U.S. president’s first term. Macron’s message was quickly followed by similar ones the British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, Italy’s Giorgia Meloni and NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte. On Wednesday morning in Europe, Trump was closing in on victory with the Republicans taking Pennsylvania and other key states.

Los Angelenos tired of increased crime and rampant homelessness overwhelmingly voted out soft-on-crime, far-left district attorney George Gascón on Tuesday in favor of Nathan Hochman, a prosecutor with a more moderate approach. Hochman, a former federal prosecutor and a Republican-turned-independent, won the race with 61.5 percent of the vote to Gascón’s 38.5 percent, according to Los Angeles County Registrar vote totals as of Wednesday morning. The Associated Press called the race for Hochman early Wednesday. Gascón’s defeat is the latest in a string of losses for Golden State Democrats

For months, we heard regime media and many of the pollsters tell us how razor-thin this election was going to turn out to be. The final Real Clear Politics average of national polls between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris showed the Vice-President was ahead by one-tenth of one percent. As of the writing of this column, with votes still coming in from different pockets of the country, Donald Trump has won the popular vote by somewhere around 3.5%. The election really wasn't that close. All of the Battleground averages, many of them herded by pollsters and mocked by Nate Silver for so doing, tried to tell us that every swing

California has resoundingly voted "Yes" on Prop. 36, which reforms Prop. 47, a decades-old law that was supposed to usher in criminal justice reform but instead encouraged the escalation of crime. Vice President and Democrat nominee Kamala Harris may have won the presidential race in the state, but by voting for Prop. 36, the citizens have rejected the policies she codified in place with her endorsement of Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón and her assistance in seeing Prop 47 passed when she served as California's Attorney General. Seemingly fed up with increased crime across the state, California voters have voted "yes" to Proposition 36

In the wee hours of Wednesday morning, as they were waiting for the election workers in the so-called “blue wall” to tell them what they already knew, CNN’s Van Jones blamed sexism and racism for why Vice President Kamala Harris lost to President-elect Trump. “I am thinking about the people who are not a part of anybody's elite, who are hurting tonight,” he bloviated. Speaking as though he was delivering a sermon, Jones opined about how this election supposedly told black women that America rejected them, how they hoped Harris would essentially liberate them, and lamented how their hard work didn’t pay off:

Former President Trump was projected to defeat Vice President Harris in battleground Wisconsin, according to Decision Desk HQ. Trump is set to take the swing state’s 10 Electoral College votes, scoring a critical win for Republicans in the Midwestern “blue wall.” Trump won the Badger State by less than a point in 2016, marking the first time it went to a Republican since the 1980s, but President Biden flipped it back into Democrats’ column with a similarly slim margin in 2020. Heading into Election Day, Trump and Harris were less than a point apart in Decision Desk HQ and The Hill’s polling averages. Wisconsin is among a handful

We may be in the midst of the greatest political comeback in American history — which follows, by eight years, the greatest political stunt in American history. That stunt was Donald Trump’s first win, in 2016. The comeback — and it will still be a staggering story even if he comes up just short — is his extraordinary performance over the past four years following his defeat in 2020. I am not here going to adjudicate Trump’s sins or errors, though I am so mindful of them that I did not vote for him and wrote in someone else. Fox News Decision Desk projects former President Donald Trump has won the critical swing state of Pennsylvania over Vice President Kamala Harris. Polls showed a close race throughout the campaign for Pennsylvania’s 19 electoral votes. Pennsylvania was once characterized by then-Bill Clinton campaign strategist James Carville as "Philadelphia and Pittsburgh with Alabama in between." The two cities again were strongholds for Harris and Democrats down the ticket, while Republicans are projected to fare well in the midstate, particularly in Reps. Glenn Thompson’s, R-Pa., and John Joyce’s, R-Pa., districts. Both candidates also visited the Commonwealth multiple times.

The writing was seemingly on the wall shortly before midnight on Election Day when CNN all but called the race for former President Trump. The so-called journalists were somber as they basically resigned themselves to a second Trump presidency; laughably admitting that Vice President Harris “could not out run the Biden economy” the media had been telling Americans they were too stupid to understand. “Generally speaking, he is over performing with what he did in 2020 and she is underperforming what Joe Biden did in 2020.

Nebraska U.S. Sen. Deb Fischer won her re-election race against independent Dan Osborn, which ended up being one of the most competitive and closely watched Senate races in the state. This will be the Republican incumbent's third term in Congress after she was initially elected in 2012, when she became the first female senator from Nebraska to serve a full term. The Associated Press called the race for Fischer, who led Osborn by 3 percentage points with about 70% of the expected votes. Her victory also paves the way for Republicans looking to flip Senate control. Democrats currently have a 51-49 majority and numerous news outlets

He and his Republican allies have promised mass deportations that will ruin lives and sunder families; they have threatened to dismantle the Affordable Care Act and appoint the anti-vaccine conspiracy theorist Robert F Kennedy Jr to a position of authority on public health. Vice President Kamala Harris can still become the first female President of the United States of America — but only if President Joe Biden resigns. Harris lost decisively to former President Donald Trump — now president-elect Trump — on Tuesday, dashing hopes that a woman would finally break through the “glass ceiling” and reach the Oval Office. But she still can — if Biden follows through on a promise to be a “transitional” candidate, and steps aside for Harris. If he does not, Biden will have consigned Harris to the ignominious task of presiding over the Senate during the certification of Donald Trump’s victory over her on January 6.
