What Investors Are Telling Us About Green Energy

Original Article

A little more than a year ago, a New York Times headline proclaimed what so many have said is absolutely, undeniably so: “The Clean Energy Future Is Arriving Faster Than You Think.” Despite the story’s examples that were supposed to buttress the claims, reality tells a different story. A recent analysis by Bloomberg found that “the fast money on Wall Street has taken a close look at key sectors in the green economy and decided to bet against them.” “Despite vast green stimulus packages in the U.S., Europe, and China, more hedge funds are on average net short batteries, solar, electric vehicles, and hydrogen than are long those sectors;

As the editorial writers state, green energy is red (communist). I'd like to see the end of large scale solar and wind projects, eyesores, which are intermittent power, unacceptable for a modern society or for a growing one. Electric vehicles, too. Get rid of 'em. Bad thinking. End the electric vehicle mandates. Elon Musk can build cars that run on gasoline or diesel.

"Green" has been proven to mean that it costs a LOT more, and doesn't work well, if it works at all.

I'm with poster #1, and the Editorial Board of Issues and Insights. Green energy is definitely communist, with the whole idea to control energy production and usage, and the masses. That's why their human induced global warming lies are so important, and needed to continue this idiocy of wind turbines, solar panels, and EVs. Another thing, FTA: "Could green energy’s declining popularity be tied to its high costs?" If these loons have managed to replace enough of the coal fired electrical generation, and oil and gas, wait for the hew and cry from the masses when their power goes out routinely at inopportune times. Yeah, they'll be REAL popular then!

The Public's awareness of the impracticality, shortcomings, and inordinate expense of Green Energy is arriving sooner than the Global Megalomaniacs had imagined. Fortunately for them, they own the EU, and the American Commiecrat Party.

Alternative energy works great on small-scale, individual use, but it is still expensive. Out here on the homestead we have solar power. However, our solar panels, lithium batteries and the shed to store them, the trenching for laying the cabling between the two, and the propane back-up generator required a total investment of $100,000 in 2020. We are freed from monthly PG&E bills, and no longer suffer long outages during winter storms. The cost of the system was rolled into a mortgage re-fi, so we'll eventually re-coup the cost when the surviving spouse needs to sell or our heirs. However, it is not workable as national policy.

Ecuador is having power cuts precisely exactly because the country depends heavily on hydropower and it didn't rain for a while. the only country on Earth so far as I know that depends heavily on renewables and isn't industrially vulnerable as a result, is Canada, and that is because it is so big it crosses many climate zones. Everybody else can' t imitate that.

Until electricity can be entirely produced from "green" sources, all evs are dependent on sources that are not green. Even solar and wind have their drawbacks...wind when the wind doesn't blow, ugly for the landscape and the solar farms killing birds and using vast amounts of land. Hydro means damning up once wild rivers. Even nuclear has the threat of something going wrong and if it does, that something will be not be good at all..What we have now with ICE vehicles is the best of the choices we have today. Sometime in the future we may have some marvelous source of energy but it's years away.

Most Americans don’t have warm feelings for the federal government’s tax collection agency. A Pew Research Center poll found that more than half of the country has an unfavorable opinion of the Internal Revenue Service. Only 42% have a favorable opinion. Donald Trump needs to capitalize on this discontent, and at the same time seize the momentum that Javier Milei created when he shut down Argentina’s tax bureau. According to the Pew Research Center, the IRS “was among the least popular” of the 16 federal agencies and departments it asked Americans about in a 2023 survey. While more Democrats held a favorable opinion of the IRS (53%) than unfavorable (40%),

This is an actual headline that appeared in a “journalism” newsletter 13 days before the election: “How much coverage of Donald Trump is too much?” The column is from Tom Jones, senior media writer at the Poynter Institute and, you’ll not be surprised to learn, a man consumed by Trump Derangement Syndrome. I’ve said in the past that Jones’ daily “Poynter Report” column would be more accurately titled, “Why I Hate Donald Trump and Fox News.” (For what it’s worth, Jones would dispute this. In 2020, I sent him an email pointing out glaring biases evident in his commentary. He

Democrats have denied that their serial attempts to imprison former President Donald Trump and a long list of his former aides, political allies and supporters amount to an illegal campaign of political lawfare. But how else do you describe President Joe Biden’s shocking demand this week that “we gotta lock him (Donald Trump) up”? Of course, immediately after saying it, Biden even in his attenuated mental state realized he had said something horribly wrong. So he backtracked, auto-erased his initial comment and said, “politically lock him up.” Which of course is a non-sequitur. Lock him up for what? Does it really matter?

Two impeachments, 88 felony counts (with guilty verdicts on 34 of them), a massive fine, two assassination attempts, unrelentingly hostile media coverage, a last-minute candidate switcheroo, and Donald Trump is still showing signs that he will win the election in two weeks. So, what do Democrats still have up their sleeve to stop Trump? They must have something. Back in May, we asked what the Democrats’ Plan B was if their lawfare campaign against Trump failed, and offered five options – four of which have come to pass. Here is what we said then.

As Election Day looms and polls tighten up, a solid majority of Americans remain unhappy with the Democratic Party’s machinations to remove President Joe Biden as its candidate and replace him with Vice President Kamala Harris. And it’s not strictly partisan. Many Democrats are also upset at how the party switched candidates, the latest I&I/TIPP Poll shows. As Harris continues to struggle, the national online I&I/TIPP Poll of 1,240 registered voters indicates lingering widespread disappointment with the Democratic Party’s maneuvers to get rid of the age-impaired Biden last July. The poll asked voters whether they agreed or disagreed

Go to Kamala Harris’ campaign website and among the very short list of alleged achievements is this: “She cast the deciding vote to lower drug prices and cap insulin prices for our seniors.” The only problem is that drug costs for seniors have skyrocketed since Harris signed that bill. Harris is pointing to the criminally misnamed “Inflation Reduction Act,” which got zero Republican votes, and which was supposed to lower the cost of prescription drugs by giving, as Harris puts it, “Medicare the power to negotiate lower drug prices with Big Pharma.”

Eight years ago, the mainstream media told us in no uncertain terms that noncitizens don’t vote in American elections. “There is no evidence,” they said. The likely number “is zero.” They were provably wrong then – there’d been multiple accounts of noncitizens who’d registered and voted in elections. In the years since, the evidence of this problem has piled up higher. But the media are still at it. It’s “extremely rare,” they say. It never “affects the outcome of a race.” Republicans are looking to “blame illegals” if Donald Trump loses, etc. Here’s one example of the disconnect. An audit of Texas
