Outgoing Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell (Ky.) said former President Trump has hurt the Republican Party’s ability to compete and that the “MAGA movement is completely wrong.” “I think Trump was the biggest factor in changing the Republican Party from what Ronald Reagan viewed and he wouldn’t recognize today,” McConnell said, according to a new biography penned by Michael Tackett of The Associated Press. These excerpts were first reported Thursday by CNN. McConnell said Trump has “done a lot of damage to our party’s image and our ability to compete.” “Trump is appealing to people who haven’t been as successful as other people and providing an excuse for that,

When politicians stay in Washington too long they are ruined. I don't know if it is something in the water or if they get involved in crooked schemes and become vulnerable to blackmail. I thank Mitch for keeping Merrick Garland off the Supreme Court. I can't think of anything else to thank him for.

What a close headed buffoon! You cannot hide with the internet these days. Now everyone knows what you are, McConnell, and want you gone!

“I think Trump was the biggest factor in changing the Republican Party from what Ronald Reagan viewed and he wouldn’t recognize today,” McConnell said. Next, we will hear McConnell is endorsing Harris. McConnell has no business putting words in Reagan's mouth. Strongly suspect Reagan would totally DISAGREE with McConnell. Under McConnell, the Republican party has slowed morphed into the Democratic party. Reagan made sure the Republican party was a separate alternative from the Democratic party. So does Trump.

Mitch, when you bring no facts, no reasoning, just "Trump bad," I can't give you any credence. Yes, Jan 6 was terrible, but you have never adduced any facts to prove that Trump's action was the cause of it. To me, it appears that a perfectly legal rally, which included a perfectly legal speech, which was followed by a perfectly legal presence at the Capitol where there was woefully inadequate security as engineered by Trump haters and capitol police firing flash bang grenades into a perfectly peaceful crowd, with the crowd containing agents provocateurs who removed signs, fences, and urged the crowd toward the Capitol with bull horns, none of whom have been prosecuted for those crimes, devolved into a perfectly predictable and engineered riot. So, if all you've got is what you said, pipe down and crawl back to your Chinese oligarch in laws.

McConnell has done more damage to the Republican Party than anyone has. He has destroyed Republican senate candidate chances whenever he didn't like their views or didn't think he could control them. As a result, we have let the democrats have the senate when we could have easily won. As leader, he has also given the democrats just about everything they wanted and roadblocked Republican presidents from achieving their goals. So, for him to say Trump had hurt the party is not only comical but exposes him for what he is, an arrogant Rino who puts his power and self over the Republican Party and the country.

Yes McConnell derailed the Garland appointment. And yes he ushered through Trump's judicial picks. But ladies and gentlemen, THAT WAS HIS FRIGGIN' JOB. McConnell has done more harm to Trump and most importantly to the country than the good he has done just doing his job competently. And I agree with poster 25, he and his Chi Com wife are not only wrong about everything. Remember she was the first one along with Betsy DeVos to resign purportedly because of Trump's January 6 issue. But quite frankly he and the frau are corrupt from top to bottom. We should be taking bets on who took more money from the Chi Coms, Mr. and Mrs. McConnell or the Biden family. I'll bet it's reaaaaal close. His reign as a Senate leader can't come quickly enough.

Donald Trump or Kamala Harris? To answer a question like that, American voters tend to dive straight into politics. With Election Day fast approaching, our collective political lens may unfortunately trump (no pun intended) our ability to focus on the core qualifications of America’s top job – and which “applicant” is most qualified to do it. Case in point: While volunteering for a nonpartisan group dedicated to improving elections, I spoke with many individuals who felt that because politicians had failed to fulfill their promises, they had no intention to vote. Later, I asked a friend if he had watched any of the presidential or vice presidential debates.

The way the presidential candidates are wrapping up their campaigns could not be more different. Former President Donald Trump is ending on the positive message that he will solve the country’s problems. Vice President Kamala Harris, increasingly desperate, is repeating her rant that Mr. Trump is bad. It’s generally true in politics that it’s better to motivate people to vote in favor of ideas rather than against something. This should tell you that Mr. Trump thinks he’s ahead while Ms. Harris knows she’s behind. Everyone who will vote in the Nov. 5 contest has lived through both administrations. Under Mr. Trump, people remember low inflation, a more secure southern border

If Vice President Kamala Harris loses North Carolina, she will lose the election. This will not be because North Carolina’s 16 electoral votes will push her over the 270-vote threshold. Rather, a Harris loss in North Carolina will signal the abandonment of two key constituencies — Black men and blue-collar manufacturing workers — also critical to her victory in other battleground states. In the early stage of Ms. Harris’ Democratic National Convention coup, where she ripped the nomination out of President Biden’s weakened hands, anxiety rippled through the Trump camp. Suddenly, Ms. Harris’ momentum erased a large Trump lead. Unexpectedly, Trump-red North Carolina morphed into Harris blue.

Trump grabs 47% support among likely voters nationwide, with Harris at 45%, according to a Wall Street Journal survey released on Wednesday evening - on a ballot that also includes third-party and independent candidates. That's a switch from the Journal's previous national survey - conducted in late August - which indicated Harris with a two point edge.

Another proposal includes funding and capital for vocational training "to help expand pathways for Black men to get good-paying jobs." Programs that distribute resources based on economic disadvantage and race have lost challenges in court.

“Democracy dies in darkness” is the Washington Post’s slogan, but can it handle the light? The Post has been doggedly portraying the election between former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris as a choice between tyranny (Trump) and democracy (Harris). Yet when it commissioned a poll on threats to democracy shortly before the election, it did not quite work out. Voters in swing states deem the greater threat to democracy to be Kamala Harris, who is running on a “save democracy” platform. The poll sampled 5,016 registered voters in Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.

Pennsylvania Senate candidate Dave McCormick slammed his opponent in the highly-anticipated race, Sen. Bob Casey, for "retaliating against McDonald's" after former President Donald Trump visited a location of the fast-food company in the Keystone State while on the campaign trail. A trio of Senate Democrats, Casey, Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren and Oregon Sen. Ron Wyden, issued a letter Monday to the CEO of McDonald’s, slamming the company for reported price gouging, just one day after Trump worked the fryer at a franchise of the fast-food chain during a campaign event Feasterville, Pennsylvania.

Hillary Clinton is comparing Donald Trump's upcoming Madison Square Garden rally to the 1939 pro-Nazi event at the same iconic location. Trump's 2016 Democratic rival is still out railing against him and warning Americans against giving him another term with just 12 days left until Election Day. The former Secretary of State said Trump is seeking to 'reenact' the Nazi rally that took place in the New York City venue just over six months before the start of World War II.The video player is currently playing an ad. Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said Thursday on CNN’s “The Source” that she found it “so distressing” Americans would vote for former President Donald Trump. Clinton said, “Here we are. It’s 12 days before the election of the President of the United States of America. It’s absolutely bonkers that we are talking about what he might do to violate the law to punish his political opponents. I mean, this is so un-American. I’ve been around longer than you have, and I’ve agreed and disagreed with presidents, Democrats and Republicans over a lot of decades. I’m concerned about Mika Brzezinski’s mental health and I am not even kidding. We recently covered one of her anti-Trump on the air meltdowns and it was so over the top that it was a little bit funny. [Snip] MIKA BRZEZINSKI: As important as Trump’s fascism is--and is the lead story every day--his cozying up to dictators, his obsession with Hitler that has now come out, what he has said about our veterans, and what he wants to do with the military against his political adversaries. It’s all huge news! [Snip] I’m talking about us women, he’s killing us!

For the first time in 36 years the Washington Post will not be endorsing a candidate for president, the paper’s publisher announced on Friday in a move that shocked and angered some current and former staffers who have been critical of former president Donald Trump. Publisher William Lewis announced the decision in an opinion piece on the organization’s website. Lewis said the Post is “returning to our roots of not endorsing presidential candidates,” repeatedly noting that the Post is an “independent newspaper.” In his piece, Lewis quoted the paper’s editorial board in 1960, when it similarly explained that the paper wouldn’t be endorsing a presidential candidate.

On Wednesday night, another “October Surprise” story against Donald Trump dropped, and like the others, it doesn’t pass the smell test. According to the story, which The Guardian published, a former model named Stacey Williams, “who says she met Donald Trump through the late sexual abuser Jeffrey Epstein... has accused the former president of groping and sexually touching her in an incident in Trump Tower in 1993, in what she believed was a ‘twisted game’ between the two men.” It was curious that after it broke, I couldn’t find any domestic media outlets that had picked it up.

There’s plenty of debate over whether Virginia is truly in play for 2024, but one thing is certain: multiple polls have shown the race neck-and-neck within the margin of error. The possibility that Donald Trump could flip Virginia may well have been a factor in Joe Biden’s exit from the race. Sure, there have been polls showing Kamala Harris with a formidable lead there as well, but in the end, we won't know until after Election Day. One promising sign that Virginia was looking good for Trump was Gov. Glenn Youngkin's executive order ordering that all votes for the 2024 presidential election be cast by paper ballot,

Former sports anchor Keith Olbermann called for the “immediate” arrest of Elon Musk in an unhinged X rant on Thursday, bizarrely claiming the SpaceX CEO — who has endorsed former President Donald Trump in the 2024 election — is “operating on behalf of Russia,” and demanding that President Joe Biden “lock him away in a military facility — now.” “We need to arrest and detain @elonmusk [Musk] immediately,” Olbermann declared in a Thursday night X post. (X) “He is operating on behalf of Russia,” Olbermann added — without evidence — in an apparent nod to the “Russia collusion” hoax commonly regurgitated by the political left.

The Atlantic’s “Trump loves Hitler” hit-piece hit a snag as several people who worked alongside — and for — retired Marine General John Kelly have come out to publicly dispute his claims. In the article that was published on Tuesday, Kelly was quoted as saying that Trump had often praised “the German generals,” and when asked to clarify, had told Kelly he wanted the kind of generals that Hitler had. Kelly also claimed that Trump had praised Hitler for doing “some good things” like rebuilding the German economy after World War I. But according to a few who worked either alongside or for Kelly in the Trump White House —

The Biden administration has considered creating a new “information czar” for national security to combat foreign disinformation operations about elections and other issues, according to White House National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan. Asked about creating such a post on the National Security Council on Thursday, Mr. Sullivan said the idea has been a topic of debate throughout the intelligence and defense agencies. Mr. Sullivan gave an audience at the National Defense University a rare glimpse inside the hidden debate about how to police foreign speech that the U.S. government finds abhorrent. “I think on the ’czar’ [proposal], that’s something we’ve been grappling with and thinking about across the national security enterprise,”

Lancaster County officials announced an investigation Friday after election workers found some 2,500 voter applications they suspect are fraudulent. Two batches of applications were dropped off last minute at the county elections office to meet Pennsylvania’s Oct. 21 voter-registration deadline, officials reported at a Friday news conference. District Attorney Heather Adams said investigators found problems with 60% of the voter-registration forms they’ve reviewed so far, including incorrect addresses, false identification information, false names and names that don’t match Social Security information. “Staff noticed that numerous applications appeared to have the same handwriting [and] were filled out on the same day,” Adams said.
