President Trump appeared at the Al Smith Dinner in New York yesterday. The New York Post covered his appearance here, Fox News here. I have posted the video of his speech at the bottom. The video posted by C-SPAN includes Jim Gaffigan’s introduction (C-SPAN video posted on YouTube here). Harris herself was absent from the dinner. She appeared only by video. Cardinal Dolan was unforgiving in his comments on her absence. He was disappointed and and he didn’t hide his disappointment. He’s quoted in both the Post and the Fox News stories. If she wins, we will have to pray for him. I found Trump’s remarks of interest throughout.

The US is investigating a leak of highly classified US intelligence about Israel’s plans for retaliation against Iran, according to three people familiar with the matter. One of the people familiar confirmed the documents’ authenticity. The leak is “deeply concerning,” a US official told CNN. The documents, dated October 15 and 16, began circulating online Friday after being posted on Telegram by an account called “Middle East Spectator.” They are marked top secret and have markings indicating they are meant to be seen only by the US and its “Five Eyes” allies — Australia, Canada, New Zealand and the United Kingdom. They describe preparations Israel

Over 1 million voters have cast a ballot in Georgia just days after the critical swing state opened up its early voting polls. The milestone sets a new turnout record for early voting in the Peach State during a general election, the Georgia Secretary of State (SOS) office confirmed with Newsweek over email Friday. State officials celebrated the record over social media, including Republican Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, who posted to his X (formerly Twitter) account, "Great job, Georgia!" "1 Million voters have cast their ballots early," Raffensperger wrote. "Election directors across Georgia have been working tirelessly to make this possible."

Former President Barack Obama came out swinging at Friday’s rally in Arizona, questioning former President Donald Trump’s competence. The 44th president sharply criticized his successor throughout the appearance in Tucson, taking aim at Mr. Trump’s ability to articulate policy positions and his age. Mr. Obama’s comments come just months after President Biden, 81, dropped out of the race over concerns about his coherence. If elected, Mr. Trump, 78, would be the oldest president in U.S. history by the end of his term. “Along with his intentions, there is also a question of his competence,” Obama said. “He’s giving two, 2 1/2-hour speeches. Just word salads.

A tentative agreement has been reached between Boeing and the roughly 33,000 machinists that went on strike last month, the union announced Saturday. “We are finalizing the strike settlement agreement, which will be completed soon, along with additional contract details to provide you with a clear understanding of the offer,” the International Association of Machinists (IAM) said in a post on social platform X. The latest proposal from Boeing includes a 35 percent wage increase over four years and reinstates an incentive pay plan, with a guaranteed minimum annual payout of 4 percent. The union, which represents roughly 600,000 active and retired machinists,

CNN senior political data reporter Harry Enten said Friday on “News Central” that Vice President Kamala Harris’s campaign has “stalled” while former President Donald Trump is “more popular” compared to 2016 and 2020. Enten said, “If you believe Donald Trump has somehow become less popular over time, let me change your mind about that. In fact, he is more popular at this point in the campaign than he was at this point in the 2020 campaign or the 2016 campaign.” He continued, “I think there’s this real question in. Kamala Harris’s mind, in the campaign’s mind, why is Trump more popular now than he was at this point in 2020 and 2016?.

Democrat Senate candidates in key swing states are pleading to Trump voters for support – a bad sign for their own campaigns and a flashing warning sign to Kamala Harris. In Michigan, Rep. Elissa Slotkin (D-MI) is openly courting voters who support Trump. In Pennsylvania, Sen. Bob Casey’s (D-PA) campaign released an ad showing Donald Trump signing a bill in the Oval Office, with the narrator touting Casey sided with Trump on his historic trade deal ending NAFTA. And in Wisconsin, leftwing Sen. Tammy Baldwin’s (D-WI) campaign released an ad broadcasting her alignment with Trump on trade policies. Candidates on the ground often have a better sense

Al Smith, the beloved four-term governor of New York, was the first Catholic to appear on a major party ballot for president. The 1928 presidential campaign was marred by the Herbert Hoover organization unleashing a wave of anti-Catholic bigotry, aided by the Klu Klux Klan and other nativist groups, that accused Smith of being an agent of the papacy and hence the devil himself. Protestant preachers railed against him from the pulpit. Even mainstream protestant churches warned against Smith's "dual loyalties." The Smith campaign was such a disaster that neither major party would put up a Catholic candidate for thirty years, when Democrats nominated John F. Kennedy.

Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Commissioner Nathan Simington said his priority is making sure the public was not misled after an accusation of "significant and intentional news distortion" in a formal complaint regarding the "60 Minutes" interview last week with Vice President Kamala Harris. "This complaint might come before the commission for adjudication," Simington told Fox News Digital. CBS News has taken heat in recent days for airing two different answers to the same question in its "60 Minutes" interview last week with the Democratic nominee. Harris was mocked by conservatives when footage of her offering a lengthy "word salad" was aired by CBS' "Face the Nation"

After meeting with Scholz, he met with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and French President Emmanuel Macron to talk about the fighting in Ukraine. “The key question is the nature of security guarantees and so that’s what we will talk about tomorrow,” Macron said. No, it’s not “the economy, stupid,” in spite of the schizophrenic stock market since our remarkably resilient capitalistic economy ran head-on into the socialist-cum-communist Biden-Harris regime, with its $1.8-trillion deficit. And no, it’s not domestic policy, where we have had the luxury of being on the receiving end of these: High taxes. High food prices. High gas prices. Sky-high regulations. Alarmingly high crime rates throughout the country, particularly in states run by Democrats, where arrests are few, bail is nonexistent, and raging criminals enjoy no consequences for their assaults, rapes, murders, racist attacks, etc.

The network had agreed that there would be no fact checks and no interruptions, yet the partisan duo proceeded to do exactly that. In fact, Trump was fact-checked at least five times, while Harris was left to say whatever the heck she wanted (much of it lies). Perhaps the most infamous moment came when Muir, using his most arrogant, self-important tone, interrupted Trump on crime statistics. Yes, the former president fought back and tried to explain why Muir was wrong,

Washington— The judge overseeing Donald Trump’s 2020 election interference case made public Friday a heavily redacted trove of documents that provide a small glimpse into the evidence prosecutors will present if the case ever goes to trial. The nearly 1,900 pages of documents collected by special counsel Jack Smith’s team were initially filed under seal to help U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan decide what allegations can proceed to trial following the Supreme Court opinion in July that conferred broad immunity on former presidents for official acts they take in office. The information that could be seen in the redacted version released Friday appeared to be material that for the most part

Volume I consists of a series of interviews from the House Select Committee on Jan. 6 while Volume II is mostly tweets from the former president.

On the campaign trail this month, former President Donald Trump has repeatedly vowed to “close the federal Department of Education” and expand school choice — a wildly popular concept that cuts across party lines, new polling shows. Good news: If he wins the White House again, he can do both. The federal Department of Education is an unconstitutional waste of time and money. Its very existence arguably violates the Tenth Amendment: The word “education” appears nowhere in the Constitution. The federal government has spent well over a trillion dollars on K-12 education since the department’s inception, while failing to improve student performance.
