The Biden-Harris administration has had a particularly poor response to Hurricane Helene, all while Milton is on its way to hit Florida as a Category 5 storm. Both President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris have used the storm as a way to go after former and potentially future President Donald Trump, with Harris' campaign even looking to use Trump's fellow Republicans against him. This includes Sen. Thom Tillis of North Carolina, whose state was hit particularly hard, especially Asheville.
On Sunday night, the Kamala HQ thought it was the right time to quote Tillis and reference Trump's X account.

In a significant shift from his party, former Democratic Congressman Peter Deutsch, who served six terms in Florida’s 20th District, has publicly endorsed Donald Trump for president.
Citing his growing concerns about the Biden administration’s foreign policy failures, Deutsch emphasized that global security is his top priority in the upcoming election. During a call organized by Trump’s campaign, Deutsch pointed to Biden and Harris’s handling of world conflicts, particularly their approach to the Hamas-Israel war and Iran, as reasons for his endorsement.

As RedState reported earlier, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis held a press briefing on Monday to discuss the state's preparations for Hurricane Milton, which is projected to hit the Sunshine State Wednesday night as a devastating Category 3 storm.Understandably, DeSantis wanted to provide assurances to residents that the state was doing everything it could ahead of the storm. Unfortunately, one of the so-called reporters decided to play politics during the briefing by pressing DeSantis over an anonymously sourced NBC News story that alleged he refused to take a call from Democrat presidential nominee Kamala Harris after Hurricane Helene hit.

I’m old enough to remember the criticism of the federal government’s response to Hurricane Katrina in 2005. The Bush administration bore the brunt of the criticism, especially when the mainstream press pilloried the president for not traveling to the area more quickly to see the damage for himself.
There was a racial component to the criticism, of course, because Bush was a Republican and many of the victims of Katrina were black. The Sunday after the hurricane, Nancy Giles said on CBS This Morning:
After meeting with Louisiana officials last week, Rev. Jesse Jackson said: "Many black people feel that their race, their property conditions,

Using a security loophole that allows the US government access to anybody's electronic traffic, Chinese hackers gained access to an unknown quantity (perhaps all) of internet traffic on American networks. In an exclusive report in Saturday's Wall Street Journal the secret breach was revealed. Good thread too: The attack SOUNDS like the hackers could potentially have access to everything that crosses certain networks by using backdoor access that the US government mandates to permit wiretapping when authorized by a warrant.

Here’s how the First Amendment debate over governmental prohibitions on free speech has been framed:
The Democrats want the government to prohibit people from spreading “disinformation” that they don’t like.
The Republicans correctly point out that the First Amendment, in general, prohibits such a prohibition.
The Democrats then respond that the First Amendment does not apply because disinformation is like falsely shouting FIRE in a crowded theater – people’s safety is at risk.
Republicans then point out that the analogy between political speech and falsely “shouting FIRE in a crowded theater” is rooted in a Supreme Court case dating back to WWI. In that case,

Biden decided to trade one of the world’s most dangerous arms dealers for a woke WNBA player to pander to what he thought was his base. There were plenty of warnings that this corrupt move would endanger Americans.
I warned that, “Biden undermined national security, freeing the ‘Merchant of Death’, an arms dealer with reported ties to Al Qaeda and Hezbollah, who had been busted trying to sell surface-to-air missiles to Marxist narcoterrorists who tried to sell 30,000 AK-47s to kill Americans.”
Now you’ll never guess what Viktor Bout, the Russian arms dealer freed by Biden, is up to now.

Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-Fla.) is refusing to take calls from Vice President Kamala Harris regarding storm recovery efforts, more than a week after Hurricane Helene ravaged parts of the state. And he has a very good reason for doing so. According to a source close to the situation, DeSantis has been avoiding the Democratic presidential nominee’s outreach because her calls “seemed political,” and the governor is focused on recovery, not campaigning.
“Kamala was trying to reach out, and we didn’t answer,” a DeSantis aide told NBC News, emphasizing that DeSantis is committed to keeping the focus on helping Floridians, not engaging in political posturing.

The Georgia Supreme Court on Monday reinstated the state’s six-week abortion ban while it reviews an appeal from the state of a lower court ruling that had struck down the law.
The decision goes into effect at 5 p.m. local time, meaning that most abortions will again be illegal in the state after six weeks of pregnancy after that time. The state Supreme Court's decision, however, left in place the lower court’s ruling blocking a separate provision of the law that had given state prosecutors broad access to the medical records of abortion patients without due process protections.

The Supreme Court decided not to hear a challenge to a lower-court ruling preventing emergency abortions in Texas if they violate the state’s strict abortion ban.
The Biden administration sought to appeal a ruling from the conservative-leaning U.S. Fifth Circuit of Appeals that sided with Texas on whether state-level abortion restrictions took precedent over federal law on emergency health care.
In June, the justices dropped a similar Idaho emergency abortion case, leaving the underlying legal questions unresolved. As a result, emergency-room doctors will continue being able to perform abortions even in states with abortion bans

One would think that after 60% of machines in the state’s largest county were programmed to fail in 2022, disenfranchising thousands of Republicans and stealing statewide elections, the RNC would ramp up efforts to ensure Arizona’s elections are fair in 2024.
Last month, it was revealed that the state had failed to verify the citizenship of 218,000 registered voters.

It comes as FEMA has faced mounting backlash in the weeks since Hurricane Helene tore through the southeast and killed at least 227 people,

In 2005, in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina wrecking Louisiana and neighboring states, Democrats (and media allies) pounced on George W. Bush for his failures (real and fabricated) in Katrina’s aftermath.
Hurricane Helene witnessed a predictable pattern. Biden stayed at the beach; Kamala pretended to be on the phone; and Trump characteristically flew in with supplies, organized a charity drive, and convinced Elon Musk to rush in 500 Starlink internet terminals, followed by FEMA blocking Musk’s and everyone else’s efforts. Blocking Starlink is essential to concealing FEMA’s perfidy. Success will be measured by how many Republicans can be kept from voting.

Nearly two dozen Democrats warned Vice President Kamala Harris in a Politico article over the weekend her relaxed campaign strategy could hurt her chances of defeating former President Donald Trump.
With few days left on the 2024 campaign trail, Harris has opted to spend time rubbing shoulders with California elites and traveling for friendly interviews in Manhattan instead of focusing her time in swing states. Harris has not sat for many local interviews in battleground states, and she has mostly avoided the national press and conducted zero press conferences.

On the heels of fresh polling showing Donald Trump pulling ahead of Kamala Harris in key Pennsylvania counties, new voter data information released shows that the number of voters registering as Republican surged in September. The numbers are impressive, with the GOP gaining nearly twice as many new voters as the Democrats. This is obviously good news for Trump, who is coming off his triumphant return to Butler, PA, and for Senate hopeful Dave McCormick, who is closing the gap in his race to defeat Democrat incumbent Bob Casey. Data geeks can find the county-by-county breakdown of voter registration numbers here.

In Israel, Oct. 6, 2023 was a day marked by optimism. Saudi Arabia was moving toward normalizing relations with the Jewish state, a once-unthinkable step that would dramatically improve Israel’s relationships with the Arab world.

Some of the audience tries to guess what this statement means while Harris’ supporters do not care and will vote for her regardless of what she says. Those who care to understand must speculate for an explanation. To whom will “billionaires” pay this undefined “fair share?” We can guess that she is talking about paying taxes.

Republican Gov. Chris Sununu of New Hampshire said Saturday night Vice President Kamala Harris “rushed” the selection of Democratic Gov. Tim Walz of Minnesota as her running mate due to President Joe Biden withdrawing from the presidential race under pressure.
Harris tapped Walz to be her vice president over Democratic Gov. Josh Shapiro of Pennsylvania Aug. 6, a little over two weeks after Biden announced he would not seek reelection July 21, following mounting calls from within his party to step aside after his disastrous performance during a June 27 debate. Sununu said that Democrats “stole the nomination” for Harris by forcing Biden to drop out.

Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) torched left-wing NBC News host Kristen Welker on Sunday for suggesting that former President Donald Trump was making false claims about the Biden-Harris administration’s disastrous response to Hurricane Helene.
Cotton fielded the activist-minded questions from Welker Sunday on NBC News’ “Meet The Press” while talking about FEMA funds and the staggering amount of money that the administration has given to illegal aliens.
“Trump has made, quite frankly, a series of baseless claims, including that the Biden administration is intentionally withholding aid from areas where Republicans live, also saying that FEMA funds

Former President Donald Trump will participate in a remembrance event on Monday to commemorate the one-year anniversary of Hamas’ attack on Israel.
Jewish community leaders will gather to remember the 1,200 people murdered on Oct. 7, 2023, as well as the victims of antisemitic violence around the world since that day, the Trump-Vance campaign said. October 7th, 2023, was the day in which the most Jewish people were murdered since the Holocaust. Hamas and other Iranian-backed proxies launched a war, not just against Israel, but against all of our shared values.

In the wake of his disastrous debate performance, Tim Walz has become a laughingstock. That is appropriate. But the relatively benign view expressed by CNN–Walz is a nice guy, but an incompetent governor–doesn’t tell one-quarter of the story. The reality is far worse.
I don’t suppose Walz is actually the Manchurian Candidate, but his admiration for Communist China is both obvious and bizarre. Who, after all, would choose the China of 1994 as a honeymoon destination? And go there another 30 times? Walz now says he “misspoke” when he said he had been to China 30 times, and it wasn’t actually that many. Walz “misspeaks” a lot.

For too long we have harboured those who hate us. We are now a year on from the October 7 massacre that saw 1,200 innocent Israeli citizens tortured, raped and murdered by barbaric Hamas terrorists.
But for the 101 hostages that remain trapped in the hands of Hamas, including a Brit, the ordeal still isn't over. [SNIP] The response here in Britain to this evil attack exposed a profound sickness at the very heart of our society. Thousands immediately took to the streets here in the UK to celebrate the biggest loss of Jewish life since the Holocaust.
