New Zealand’s navy has suffered its first peacetime ship loss since World War II when the $100 million multi-role support vessel HMNZS Manawanui ran aground off the southern coast of Upolu Island, Samoa, caught fire and eventually sank—triggering an environmental disaster in the process.
With all 75 passengers and crew evacuated, the vessel’s loss brings fresh scrutiny to the leadership under its openly lesbian commanding officer, Commander Yvonne Gray.
The Manawanui, originally built in Norway and repurposed for New Zealand’s Royal Navy with a substantial $103 million investment, was conducting a seabed survey mission when it hit a reef, according to maritime news outlet gCaptain.

Pope Francis has announced his intention to make 21 new cardinals on December 8, among whom is the pro-LGBT Dominican friar Timothy Radcliffe. In 2023, the pontiff chose the woke friar to open the Vatican Synod on Synodality, who began his words by confessing, “I am old, white, a Westerner, and a man! I don’t know which is worse.” (snip) “I have no doubt that God does call homosexuals to the priesthood, and they are among the most dedicated and impressive priests I have met,” he stated. (snip) In 2013, Father Radcliffe argued that gay sex can be “Eucharistic,” expressive of Christ’s self-gift in Holy Communion.

The art of the traditional signature is becoming a thing of the past thanks to the rise of online contracts, e-signatures and PIN numbers.
Surveys show that just a fifth of young adults aged 18 to 24 now have a personal signature, and a similar share of adults use their signature so infrequently, they can't produce the same one consistently.
And that matches what teachers are seeing.
Dr Lori Koerner, the assistant superintendent for the Riverhead Central School District in New York, told DailyMail.com: 'I have encountered too many secondary students and employment candidates who cannot sign documents relative to their onboarding process.'

Democratic presidential nominee Vice President Kamala Harris said Monday on CBS’s “60 Minutes” that she owns a Glock semi-automatic pistol.
Correspondent Bill Whitaker said, “A hard left turn here, but you recently surprised people when you said that you are a gun owner and that if someone came into your house they would get shot.” Harris said, “That is not the first time I’ve talked about it.”Whitaker said, “What kind of gun do you own and when and why did you get it?”
Harris said, “I have a Glock, and I’ve had it for quite some time. And I mean, look, Bill, my background is in law enforcemen

SWANNANOA, North Carolina — Hundreds of special operations personnel in North Carolina have formed their own homegrown rescue and supply operation in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene after they grew tired of waiting for the federal government to get its act together.
The Post found an all-volunteer operation being run out of a Harley-Davidson dealership with ruthless efficiency and military precision.
“Who’s FEMA?” ex-Green Beret Adam Smith derisively responded when asked about the agency’s presence on the ground since the deadly storm ravaged the rural western part of the state.(Photo) “This disaster has definitively proven without a shadow of a doubt FEMA’s incompetence and incapability,” he said, noting that the agency

On Friday, the Arizona Supreme Court ruled that votes cast for a pro-ranked-choice voting constitutional amendment in the 2024 election will count — even though nearly 38,000 signatures supporting the amendment proposal were duplicates.
In its decision, the Grand Canyon State’s high court rejected a challenge seeking to have votes cast for Proposition 140 voided after a lower court special master disclosed that 37,657 pairs of signatures gathered in support of the measure were duplicates. As previously argued by the Arizona Free Enterprise Club (AZFEC), the finding “place[s] Proposition 140 thousands of signatures under the constitutionally required signature threshold to qualify for the [November] ballot.”

Of all the results from the latest I&I/TIPP poll, the most unsettling has to be that voters think Kamala Harris is at least as much of a fiscal and economic conservative as Donald Trump.
Our latest poll, taken of 997 likely voters, finds that more voters say they trust Harris (who’s already announced $4 trillion in tax hikes) than Trump to cut taxes by a 48%-45% margin. Among the crucial independent voters, the margin is even greater – 49% to 36%.
That’s not all.
More trust Harris to bring about energy independence, 48%-47%. Trump is essentially tied with Harris on growing

NBC News chief Washington correspondent Andrea Mitchell said Sunday on “Meet the Press” that Vice President Kamala Harris has to “double down” on doing serious interviews because she is not polling well with male voters.
Mitchell said, “They have to double down on doing more interviews and serious interviews because what I’m hearing from Democratic and Republican business people and a lot of men. She has such a big problem with men. I think there’s an undercount of the Trump vote. I think there’s misogyny in all of this, black and white men, big problem.”

President Biden uses a vulgar nickname for former President Donald Trump when the Democrat speaks about his predecessor in private, according to a forthcoming book.
“That f—king a—hole” is how Biden, 81, refers to Trump, 78, behind closed doors, CNN reported Tuesday in a preview of Bob Woodward’s tome “War,” out next week.
In public, Biden usually refers to Trump in roundabout ways, such as “my predecessor” or “the former guy” — when the incumbent deigns to mention the 45th president at all.
The president’s hot temper and penchant for profanity has been reported before, with Politico revealing in October 2021 that Biden regularly f-bombed West Wing aides in meetings,

Kamala Harris encountered some unexpected pushback during her 60 Minutes interview after being asked to explain her economic policies, causing her to fall flat on her face.
As The Gateway Pundit reported, Harris, expecting an easy interview, sat down with host Bill Whitaker to discuss her campaign for President and her policies, which are unknown to many Americans. She began by uttering nonsensical remarks about the Middle East as all-out war threatens to break out in the region.
“The work that we have done has resulted in a number of movements in that region by Israel that were very much prompted by, or a result of, many things, including

Volunteers in one tiny North Carolina town have revealed a disturbing incident that unfolded Sunday night as the region tries to recover from Hurricane Helene.
Videos have emerged on social media showing an unidentified helicopter with pilots wearing military-style headgear sabotaging direly needed supplies at a United Cajun Navy distribution site in Burnsville despite volunteers in a seemingly deliberate act of sabotage despite volunteers allegedly designating the area as a “no-fly, no drop” zone just hours before.

Vice President Kamala Harris took aim at Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis of Florida on Monday for reportedly not taking her calls regarding federal storm relief efforts as a second powerful hurricane bears down on Florida. "People are in desperate need of support right now and playing political games at this moment in these crisis situations…is just utterly irresponsible, and it is selfish," Harris charged on Monday. "It is about political gamesmanship, instead of doing the job that you took an oath to do, which is to put the people first."
