Following the second assassination attempt on Donald Trump, a common refrain from the left was that political violence is a "both sides" issue. MSNBC tried that line multiple times, as did some of the major newspapers, with the idea being that you can't call out Democrat rhetoric because Republican rhetoric has caused issues as well. So what was the evidence for that equivocation being used as a way to deflect from someone trying to murder Trump again? CNN's Dana Bash provided a perfect example of it when she accused JD Vance of inciting "bomb threats" in Springfield, OH. To be sure, the claim

I'd never heard of Dana Bash until she was set to debate PDJT on ABC. Can't say I missed anything when I didn't know she existed, and my world was better when I'd never heard of her. Now, I wish she would just go away. Of course, now that she's made a name for herself on ABC (Always Backing Communists) she's going to exploit her 15 minutes of "fame" as much as possible. As with the rest of the DemonCrats, if she didn't have double standards, she wouldn't have any!

Democrats and media probably had the calls made in order to help prove their point that Trump was spreading hate.

The repeated attempts on former President Donald Trump’s life have deepened conservatives’ distrust of the government and the criminal justice system, including suspicions that Democrats and high-ranking officials are rooting for attempted assassins. White House officials aren’t backing off their rhetoric. A day after the assassination attempt Sunday, they framed Mr. Trump as “dangerous” and a “threat” to Democracy. At the same time, Republicans are intensifying scrutiny of the Secret Service and whether it is purposefully leaving the former president vulnerable. Rep. Elijah Crane, Arizona Republican, said Mr. Trump should increase his use of private bodyguards rather than rely on government agents to protect him.

Former President Trump’s favorability rating has risen by 5 percentage points in the past month, according to a survey released Wednesday. The Gallup poll shows Trump’s favorability has bounced back in September, returning to June levels — before President Biden withdrew from the race. Roughly 46 percent of respondents had a favorable view of the GOP nominee in the latest survey, compared to 41 percent in August. Harris, who rose to the top of the ticket after Biden stepped aside, saw a dip in her favorability — dropping from 47 percent to 44 percent in the recent poll. Despite the fluctuation in favorability, the pollster suggests both White House candidates are underwater

WASHINGTON – The Federal Reserve on Wednesday enacted its first interest rate cut since the early days of the Covid pandemic, slicing half a percentage point off benchmark rates in an effort to head off a slowdown in the labor market. With both the jobs picture and inflation softening, the central bank's Federal Open Market Committee chose to lower its key overnight borrowing rate by a half percentage point, or 50 basis points, affirming market expectations that had recently shifted from an outlook for a cut half that size. Outside of the emergency rate cuts during Covid, the last time the FOMC cut by half a point was in 2008

BEIRUT - Hand-held radios used by Hezbollah detonated on Wednesday across Lebanon's south and in Beirut's southern suburbs, a security source and a witness said, further stoking tensions with Israel a day after similar explosions launched via the group's pagers. Three people were killed in Lebanon's Bekaa region, the state news agency reported, and dozens of people were wounded in the latest device blast. At least one of the blasts took place near a funeral organized by Iran-backed Hezbollah for those killed the previous day when thousands of pagers used by the group exploded across the country and wounded many of the group's fighters.

As we previously reported, waves were made Sunday when GOP vice presidential nominee JD Vance sat down for what turned out to be a contentious interview with CNN anchor Dana Bash, who repeatedly berated the Ohio Senator for the crime of bringing to light the concerns of constituents who he says alleged that Haitian migrants are eating pets and waterfowl in Springfield. "Before Donald Trump talked about eating dogs and cats on a debate stage, it was you, Senator, who first elevated this baseless rumor," Bash huffed. "These are your constituents. So, why are you putting them at risk by continuing to spread claims about Haitian immigrants, despite officials

We keep on being sold the line that Trump is unfit to be president because he uses hateful rhetoric, and I admit that I wished Trump used less incendiary words often enough. But the people who make this complaint are, if anything, much worse. Trump directs his ire at what are in the end serious problems making the lives of everyday Americans worse, and in return his critics call him a Nazi, an existential threat to America, and make the most disparaging remarks about his supporters. Among the worst offenders are some former Republicans. Rick Wilson famously called for somebody to "put a bullet" in Donald Trump's head, and many

We actually have two questions that require answers in the wake of Sunday's assassination attempt on Donald Trump by a (well-)"known wolf". The first question: Why didn't federal security and intel agencies take Ryan Wesley Routh seriously? He had a decades-long track record of criminal activity, and numerous people tried to warn the FBI, Homeland Security, and the State Department of his dangerous nature. We may wait a long time for a satisfactory explanation for that question. Thanks to Tanya Lukyanova, however, we have a good answer to the second question: Why did American media outlets take Routh seriously?

Sky News Arabia quotes sources saying that today’s large-scale pager attack in Lebanon was possible because the Mossad spy agency got hold of Hezbollah’s communication devices before they were handed over to the terror group. The Israeli spy agency placed a quantity of PETN, a highly explosive material, on the batteries of the devices, and detonated them by raising the temperature of the batteries from afar, the source says. The Wall Street Journal reported earlier that some Hezbollah members felt their pagers heating up and disposed of them before the series of explosions that killed at least nine and injured about 2,800 people.

One way or another, they must find a way to hang the threat of violence against Trump around his own neck, even if that means twisting logic into an unrecognizable pretzel and dispending with any effort at consistency. At least three people were killed in the east of Lebanon and more than 100 were wounded in the new explosions in southern Beirut, a Hezbollah stronghold, on Wednesday, Lebanon’s health ministry said. Witnesses and Hezbollah officials said the explosions were as a result of the group’s walkie-talkies as well as motorbike radios and security locks blowing up across Lebanon. Hillary Clinton forcefully argued that Vice President Kamala Harris didn't need to clarify her policy positions in interviews and said that the 2024 Democratic candidate was facing a "double standard" from voters and the media. "In fact, she's put out policies on her campaign website. Anybody who's truly interested can go and read about them. She referenced policies. She actually doesn't just have policies and concepts. Gas powered stoves in California could now come with a health warning label similar to what you'd find on a pack of cigarettes or other tobacco products, according to a new proposed law in the state. California lawmakers passed a bill at the end of August that would make it illegal to sell a gas stove that is manufactured or sold online on or after Jan. 1, 2025, or sold in a store, "unless the gas stove bears an adhesive label attached in a conspicuous location," according to the text of the bill. Gov. Gavin Newsom has until the end of September to sign the bill into law.

Much of the noise coming from the debate between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris last week had to do with a media-driven narrative that Harris “won.” Maybe so. In initial polls after the debate, Harris padded her lead. But will the debate win be enough for the Democrats’ own rank-and-file voters, who believe the party used an undemocratic method to select its nominee? September’s I&I/TIPP Poll suggests the answer is yes. Start with the fact that the Real Clear Politics polling average puts Harris up just 1.7 percentage points nationally, and a sliver-thin 0.2 percentage points in key battleground states.
