Protests erupt at California State Capitol
after pair of reparations bills shelved

A pair of reparations-related bills for the descendants of enslaved Black Americans failed to pass in the California legislature on Saturday after backers said the bills would not move forward. Authored by Democrat state Sen. Steven Bradford of Inglewood, Senate Bill 1331 would have created a new state fund for reparations, while Senate Bill 1403 would have established a state agency to oversee these efforts and determine who would be eligible. These measures were considered key components of some lawmakers’ ambitious efforts to pass legislation aimed at atoning for what they said was a legacy of racist policies that drove disparities for Black people, from housing to education to health.

We have all been both harmed and helped by slavery and sequent abuses. It is part of our history. Unconstitutional and illegal means have been deployed to help 3 impacted generations recover, but as with all “free goods”, they were never free, and certainly never enough in the mins of their beneficiaries It’s not time for even more. it is time to pare back

This isn't about reparations, it's about free money and vote buying. As for the free money, it will never be enough. If you give them all a million dollars today, they will be back tomorrow demanding more, and on and on.

White people have been atoning since the Roosevelt Administration. None of the Blacks in this country have been slaves and it goes back at least 4 generations. And, they never had slaves in California. This is a scheme to buy votes. Nothing more.

I am so sick of these gimme, gimme, gimmee's and their constant whining and protesting for more free ( to them) stuff at the expense of everyone else. They have a whole month to laud the accomplishments of their race, and they are all victims. If they spent as much time and energy working, looking for work or learning job skills as they do complaining and blaming 'whitey' for their problems, they wouldn't have those problems. I worked for everything I have, and if they want to be my equal, they can quit breeding illegitimate children and work for what they want. They have AA, DEI and numerous government programs to put them at the head of the line, but that's not enough. It never will be for these ungrateful victims! End of rant!

An all black commission packed with activists "studies" reparations for a state that never had any slaves are slavery. They make grandiose recommendations of billions of dollars then (doing what activists do) get upset when the state is unable to meet their unrealistic demands. These people live in a fantasy world and need to get the chip off their shoulders.

California ran out of OPM and the also drove out many of those productive citizens if, had they stayed, would have been taxed to death to pay for this newest welfare program. The Cali parasites can legally conduct as many smash 'n grabs as they please and also steal just under $1000 a day from any store that is still open. I would say that the reparations have already been paid. They think they are oppressed now, wait until ALL of the stores have closed.

Haunting video posted on Telegram on Monday shows the six doomed Israeli hostages speaking before their murders. X “Bombing here never stops, and we are afraid for our lives. The future of the Supreme Court is on the line in November’s elections. If Vice President Kamala Harris and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer are victorious in November, the independent Supreme Court that the Framers bequeathed to us will be a thing of the past. That’s one of the big reasons why Harris must be defeated in her campaign for president, and why Schumer must be demoted to Minority Leader. For the past three and a half years, the Biden-Harris administration has been on a rampage, disregarding the limits on executive authority emplaced by the Constitution. The Supreme Court has responded as it should,

Hamas leaders, who are closely observing the protests, are likely to harden their stance in the hope that the Israeli government will give in to the demonstrators' demands, including an immediate and unconditional ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. Hamas has the Israeli public pressuring their government to allow Hamas to "live to fight another day": to rearm, regroup and continue attacking Israelis – as Hamas official Ghazi Hamad vowed. Hamas leaders are banking on the Biden administration to compel the Israeli government to give in to the terror group's demands.... It has long been the dream of Hamas and many Palestinians to see the US turn its back on Israel.

Polling is a useful tool in politics, if somewhat blunt and slow, and this weekend Democrats were taking no small comfort in an ABC/Ipsos survey showing Kamala Harris leading Donald Trump by 4 points nationally. But the important thing about this poll is not the margin. After all, Rasmussen has Trump up by 2 points. Nobody knows which is right. What’s important is that on Aug. 13, this same ABC poll also showed Harris up 4. Put another way, Harris' momentum isn’t just gone, it's been gone for a while.

Vice President Kamala Harris is campaigning on what she characterizes as a record of a tough former prosecutor. But a White House office she has "overseen" may have focused less on gun crimes and more on targeting a legal gun manufacturer. The House Oversight and Accountability Committee says the Biden-Harris administration is stonewalling an investigation into potential "collusion" with a gun control group founded by billionaire former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg to boost Chicago’s lawsuit against Glock Inc. Since June, neither the White House nor the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, better known as the ATF, has responded to multiple inquiries from the committee.

Last week, two polls revealed that the Virginia election is a tight race within the margin of error. The Roanoke College poll showed Kamala Harris leading Trump by just three points, a finding echoed by a Quantus poll with the same narrow margin. Virginia, a traditionally blue state that last went Republican in the 2004 presidential election, was looking like a potential Trump pickup before Biden dropped out, however conventional wisdom was that with Kamala Harris topping the ticket, Virginia was no longer in play.
