The parent company of iconic American whiskey brand Jack Daniel’s is getting rid of its progressive workplace programs after a conservative activist prepared to launch a boycott against the firm. American spirits conglomerate Brown Forman, the owner of Jack Daniel’s and other well-known offerings, recently sent an internal memo announcing its plan to halt diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives and end its relationship with a corporate ranking of LGBT-friendly employers. Brown Forman is the fourth company with conservative clientele to scrap its left-wing workplace initiatives in recent weeks,

So, either they were never really committed to these liberal ideals and were just implementing the programs as part of a dog and pony show to fool liberals into thinking the did or they are committed to those ideals and will now work quietly in the background to advance them without alienating their conservative customer base. Either way, they are dishonest and should not be trusted.

I have to suspect a lot of these companies are just being sneakier about it. It would depend on how much outside money they need (e.g. Federal, Black Rock).

The screaming little college kids these companies have to hire to replace aging executives are behind this foolishness. They are lied to in college by activists, and bring those lies to the boardroom. They convince these old executives that 99% of the country is blacks or gays or pedophiles and they must be pandered to. Look at all the commercials on TV that feature gay or mixed race couples, or grossly fat people. It seems like they think most of America is them. I make a point of avoiding their products. Then the damage is done, and it costs the companies millions.

The IDF says it has detected preparations by Hezbollah to launch rockets and missiles and is preemptively striking in Lebanon “to remove the threat.” Fighter jets are striking Hezbollah targets that “posed an imminent threat to the citizens of the State of Israel,” the army says, adding that “life-saving instructions” will be sent out in some parts of the country. Alarms are meanwhile sounding in several northern communities. In a video statement, IDF Spokesman Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari says: “A short while ago, the IDF identified the Hezbollah terrorist organization preparing to fire missiles and rockets toward Israeli territory.”

Democrats will tell you they are excited about Vice President Kamala Harris’s presidential campaign. The delegates to the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, Illinois, this week kept talking about how much fun they were having and how much “joy” they were feeling. Democrats who watched the speeches on television gushed about how amazing they were. Some of those feelings were real. But remember: that’s how Democrats feel, not how other Americans feel. The convention, objectively, was not so great.

On Friday’s broadcast of CNN’s “The Source,” Harris Campaign Surrogate Massachusetts Gov. The response that I saw also was, well, she is the Vice President right now, it’s not like she

Donald Trump is riding high after Democrats’ failure to utilize the Democratic National Convention (DNC) to springboard Vice President Kamala Harris’s struggling campaign. The emboldened Republican nominee even stole President Barack Obama and Vice President Kamala Harris’s trademark one-word campaign slogans in laying out his American agenda and calling to arms the crowd to vote for him in November. “Everyone will prosper, every family will thrive, and every day will be filled with joy and opportunity and hope, but for that to happen, we must defeat Kamala Harris,” Trump told the crowd near the end of his remarks. “We must stop her country-destroying liberal agenda once and for all,”

Earlier, Ed wrote about the way in which the media seems to have gone all in on what could be described as the Empty Suit Campaign. Harris has said almost nothing specific about her plans and has given no interviews and yet most of the media seems thrilled to report this vacuous campaign as a triumph of good vibes. She's the change candidate. The joy candidate. And that's enough for most of them. Today I noticed a couple of mildly critical pieces over at the NY Times. Here's one titled "Harris Faces Challenge of Translating Convention Joy to Fall Momentum." Vice President Kamala Harris emerged

Last night, Kamala Harris repeatedly asserted that she would "chart a new course," or "chart a new way forward." For that, one would expect a chart or two. Harris competently delivered a well-received but nearly substance-free acceptance speech at the Democratic National Convention. At 37 minutes, give or take, it ran long enough for the occasion without tiring the audience, in the hall or on television. And mirablile dictu, we never got the ubiquitous Harris incantation, "what we can be, unburdened by what has been." Which in this case was rather ironic, since at least a third or more of Harris' speech was devoted to what has been -- her "personal story."

Thursday night, Kamala Harris took the stage in a blue pantsuit to accept her party's nomination for President of the United States. The excited audience kept chanting "Kamala" and "USA"; she thanked them and said, "We got to get to some business! Thank you all." According to Politico, Vice President Kamala Harris planned to lean into her personal biography, and that is what she did. While mention was made of her father Donald Harris, it was her mother Shyamala Gopalan's "values" that Harris constantly referred to as her guiding principles throughout her speech. As I wrote throughout this four-day-long, DNC reinvention fest, everything from the single-mother schtick

However, their performance of the Star-Spangled Banner was almost universally slammed, even by fans of the band formerly known as 'The Dixie Chicks' before dropping the d-word in 2020.
