National Security in a Second Trump Administration

Original Article

After a tumultuous and nearly life-ending July, Donald Trump narrowly retains his lead in the polls. Business leaders would be wise to prepare for a second Trump administration. As someone detailed to serve in the White House during my time in the Marine Corps, I know firsthand what national security policy means to President Trump. The 2017 National Security Strategy, Trump’s first-term policies, and his words in and out of office are the best indicators of what a second Trump administration agenda would entail. This amounts to a more expansive view of national security, one that stresses U.S. economic and technological primacy. Great power competition with China would dominate.

Re: #1, My fear exactly. Once upon a time I would have thought Well, that won't happen. But then I made the dumb mistake of thinking - Don't worry about that phony Barack Hussein, nobody in their right mind and paying attention would ever vote for that phony, incompetent FRAUD. Two terms later, I stopped that thinking. I don't put anything past democrats anymore, especially after Hillary! I suppose some people just never learn. Truly, truly evil creatures. Father in Heaven, please watch over and protect President Trump and Vice-President Vance. Amen

How GOP can beat Kamala Harris 10 replies

It’s the Trump policy agenda, stupid. That’s how to beat Vice President Kamala Harris — with policy arguments, not gratuitous personal attacks. Over 90% of voters have made up their minds. The 2024 presidential election will be determined in a handful of battleground states by a few hundred thousand votes, and Ms. Harris’ best chance of winning will be to consolidate Democratic women, successfully woo independent women and peel off a fraction of Republican women. Republican politicians, TV commentators and radio talk show hosts who play the Willie Brown card ridicule the Harris cackle or demean Ms. Harris as a diversity, equity and inclusion hire, which will only advance her strategy.

CNBC’s "Mad Money" host Jim Cramer told viewers on Monday that if they care about the money in their pocket, they should support former President Trump. "If you’re in the stock market, if you care about your paycheck, you go with Trump," Cramer said. "That’s what you do." "You do?," fellow CNBC host David H. Faber asked. "Yeah, well, he wants to cut your taxes," Cramer responded, while Faber grumbled about Trump's SALT tax cap affecting blue states.

Kamala Harris’ slogan in her disastrous 2019 presidential bid was “For the People.” Her rapid, ruthless installation as the Democrats’ presidential nominee shows that slogan no longer captures what she or her party are about. Harris’ Democrats are America’s elite party, pure and simple. And like elites everywhere, they will fight without quarter to maintain the power and privilege they have spent a lifetime to acquire — as President Biden just learned to his detriment.

Sen. JD Vance fired back at a CNN reporter who asked him whether former President Trump's comments about Kamala Harris' race were concerning to him as a "father of three biracial children." Vance visited the U.S. southern border on Thursday where he attacked Harris' record as the border czar during a press conference in Cochise County, Arizona. At one point on the trip, CNN correspondent Steve Contorno asked the vice presidential contender about Trump's comment a day earlier, when he told a crowd at the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) convention that Harris "became a Black person," after years of identifying as Indian.
Biden’s Supreme Court Reforms Are Unconstitutional 8 replies

On Monday, President Biden proposed two reforms to the Supreme Court—term limits for justices and a binding ethics code—along with a constitutional amendment to its recent presidential-immunity decision. Making his case in a Washington Post op-ed, the president claimed broad support and specifically thanked “the bipartisan Presidential Commission on the [SCOTUS] for its insightful analysis, which informed some of these proposals.” But there’s a problem with Biden trying to use the commission to give his proposals legitimacy. Adam White, who served as a member of that commission, tells The Free Press that “nothing in our report actually recommended anything” that the president is now proposing.

Rep. Lauren Boebert, R-Colo., is seeking to raise the equivalent of a gold medal for an Olympic athlete who was defeated by an opponent who previously failed gender eligibility tests. Italian boxer Angela Carini competed in the 66-kilogram women’s division Olympic boxing match Thursday, but abandoned the fight just 45 seconds in after getting hit by her opponent, who was deemed to have male chromosomes. Carini left the match against Algerian boxer Imane Khelif in tears, saying later: "I didn't give up, but one punch hurt too much, and so I said enough." "Enough is enough," Boebert told Fox News

With the ascension of Saint Kamala, we are now watching the Mean Girl rebranding of the Democratic Party. It has to be the biggest miscalculation in political history. As polls show America’s young men are lurching rightward at a rapid pace, the Democratic brand has finally evolved into the party of scolding shrews, nagging Karens and “preachy females,” as Dem dinosaur James Carville calls them. Its image is tied to a type of unserious, self-involved, neurotic, dogmatic Dem-fem who insists on telling you her pronouns and whose highest goal is abortion on demand right up until the moment of birth.

Republicans are just waking up to the horror that they’ve been had. The Trump campaign seems blindsided by Kamala Harris. Having avoided the ordeal of a primary, Harris dances onto the national scene appearing well-rested and unscathed. In polls, she is already tied with Trump—erasing his sizable lead in just one week. Scrambling to make sense of what just happened, J.D. Vance has called her extra-democratic appointment a “coup.” He has suggested it cheated voters out of the chance to pick their own nominee. But a “coup” involves regime change. This switcheroo involved none. That’s why you don’t see members of the Biden administration objecting.

Monday night, I watched the livestream of the “White Dudes for Harris” fundraiser. Our host, a thirtysomething political operative with a man-bun and a beard, was upfront: some people didn’t feel comfortable with this event. But, he argued, white men feel lonely; they’re struggling in the new economy and feeling forgotten. MAGA has co-opted masculinity, he said, and the left has ceded white guys to the right-wing. “But,” he declared, “that stops tonight.” He then introduced the first guest speaker: a black guy. If you’re wondering why the Harris campaign organized an event just for white guys—so am I.

American law enforcement agencies have tapped the company for years for its ability to break into smartphones from a range of Big Tech firms and using different mobile operating systems. However, while a Cellebrite software patch helped investigators get into Crooks' phone within 24 hours of the shooting, the company is not privy to any

If the candidate was as compelling as the media pretends, they wouldn’t have to completely reinvent her. Remember that time Joe Biden named Vice President Kamala Harris the border czar, and we all watched her fail to do anything about the crisis? You only think you do. Because Harris was never a czar. Not technically, since we don’t have czars in the United States. Everyone knows that. When Joe promised Kamala would “lead our efforts” to fix the border crisis, what he really meant was that the vice president would research some of the “root causes” during weekends, and maybe take a few diplomatic trips or whatnot. But czar, c’mon.

President Donald Trump announced on Truth Social that Joe Biden will attempt to reclaim the Democratic nomination after it was “stolen” by Kamala Harris. This comment comes in light of recent announcements confirming Harris’s position as the Democrat presidential nominee, following a controversial series of events leading to Biden’s abrupt withdrawal from the 2024 race. Last week, DNC Chair Jaime Harrison announced that Harris has amassed enough delegates to secure her place at the top of the ticket, with final results expected to be confirmed on Monday. Despite never winning a primary election, Harris has now found herself positioned as the official Democrat nominee.

As recently as last week, Kamala Harris appeared to be on the cusp of picking Gov. Josh Shapiro (D-Pa.) as her running mate. Despite the progressive backlash against him and a slew of scandalous leaks, he was the runaway frontrunner in the betting odds as conventional wisdom held that Kamala needed a "moderate" swing state Democrat to help expand her path to 270 Electoral College votes. Shapiro's chances remained high even after he faced serious allegations by a fellow Democrat of covering up harassment in his office. The sexual harassment cover-up didn't take Shapiro out of contention, and neither did another cover-up — this one involving murder.

Stress on the body caused by racism may cut African American women’s lives short, according to a recent study by neuroscientists at Harvard and Emory universities. Their research, published in the journal JAMA Network Open in June, found a connection between “higher self-reported racial discrimination” and “DNA methylation age acceleration” among black women. “Racism steals time from people’s lives – possibly because of the space it occupies in the mind,” lead researchers Negar Fani and Nathaniel Harnett wrote in an article this week at The Conversation. Fani is a professor at Emory and Harnett at Harvard, both in the areas of psychiatry and neuroscience.
