Venezuelan Election Denounced by International
Monitoring Group

Original Article

Posted By: FormerDem, 7/31/2024 2:00:32 PM

The only independent observer monitoring the polls in Venezuela said that Sunday’s vote for president did not meet international standards and was undemocratic, raising more questions about the legitimacy of the results. The mission, led by the Carter Center, a pro-democracy organization, said late Tuesday that the election violated Venezuela’s own laws and the government’s failure to release a vote count was a “serious breach of electoral principles.’’ The group joined the United States and many other countries that have said Venezuela’s election was marred by irregularities. At least 16 people have been killed in protests

Comments:

Let's pray for the Venezuelans who were hungry and weary before this last thing. May they have freedom, may they have food.

Hopefully, the Venezuelans have the courage and strength to do what the American people did not. BTW, where was the IMG in 2020?

Gee, reminds me of -the fake 'broken water main' story.... -the election officials covering over the big glass windows with paper so that the people could not see what they were doing... -all the states that -simltaneously- suddenly stopped counting ballots late in the evening, then received huge 'ballot dumps' in the wee hours of the morning..... -and the electronic voting machine 'glitches' -in Republican areas only- ..... in 2020.

Unfortunately, the Venezuelans who would fight for a free country have all fled to the US. Along with several of the country's prison inmates. The bad guys are firmly in control.

It's just socialism doing what it does best, nothing to see here. Election monitoring groups have been around for decades but the Biden administration made it illegal to speak of the 2020 election which they so openly rigged and stole and still claim that the vegetable earned 81 million votes from his basement. People still sit in DC jails and Donald Trump has been blamed for an insurrection just for questioning that result. The Obama election was heavily funded by money from foreign countries, we didn't even notice the cheating, and we still have dictators in the world who win 100% percent of the vote, just because. Saddam Hussein was one of those immensely popular leaders as is Vladimir Putin. The democrats fight tooth and nail against voter ID and they don't do it to insure black voting rights are upheld.

Imagine a Jan. 6-style crisis, only this time with serious (as opposed to politically manufactured) disagreements over whether the presidential candidate who won a key state is entitled to its electoral votes. That disturbing scenario just became a little bit more likely — not for the next presidential election but subsequent ones. Without fanfare, Minnesota’s governor signed legislation last month that would award the state’s 10 presidential electors to the national popular-vote winner even if he or she lost Minnesota. The National Popular Vote Interstate Compact purports to take effect once states carrying 270 electoral votes (the minimum needed to win the presidency) have agreed to its terms.

Venezuela’s Supreme Justice Tribunal has upheld a ban which prevents presidential candidate Maria Corina Machado from holding office, upending the opposition’s plans for elections planned for later this year. Combined, both of these policies would result in massive numbers of middle-class Americans having more money in their bank accounts. The national economic benefits of these two combined policies are extremely significant and could actually offset the financial damage done by Joe Biden. The timing of this announcement coincides with President Trump visiting Chicago. SENIORS SHOULD NOT PAY TAX ON SOCIAL SECURITY!

Republicans are just waking up to the horror that they’ve been had. The Trump campaign seems blindsided by Kamala Harris. Having avoided the ordeal of a primary, Harris dances onto the national scene appearing well-rested and unscathed. In polls, she is already tied with Trump—erasing his sizable lead in just one week. Scrambling to make sense of what just happened, J.D. Vance has called her extra-democratic appointment a “coup.” He has suggested it cheated voters out of the chance to pick their own nominee. But a “coup” involves regime change. This switcheroo involved none. That’s why you don’t see members of the Biden administration objecting.

The conventional description of the American political system holds that Republicans represent the rich. Democrats, by contrast, are said to represent the “little guy,” including blue-collar workers and low-income minorities. The most Interesting thing about Donald Trump’s foray into politics is that he would like to turn that picture upside down. So maybe this is a good time to ask: Why do people vote the way they do?It’s certainly hard to square the conventional view with the way many sophisticated people vote. Among high-income voters, almost as many identify as Democrat as Republican. In general, the higher the level of education, the more liberal people say they are;
