Why was there no security posted on the rooftop from which the would-be assassin of Donald Trump took his shot? Not for any profound reason but because the Secret Service was afraid of its agents falling, according to Director Kimberly Cheatle. "There’s a safety factor that would be considered there that we wouldn’t want to put somebody up on a sloped roof. And so, the decision was made to secure the building, from inside."
It is part of a succession of marvels that occurred on July 13, 2024. First, there was the rapid preparation of the alleged assassin, Thomas Crooks, a 20-year-old cook in a nursing home,

The United States Secret Service acknowledged it had "limited resources" during briefings held before the July 13 Trump rally in Pennsylvania at which an attempted assassination occurred, according to whistleblower disclosures to the House Judiciary Committee.
The admitted lack of necessary resources, according to the whistleblowers, was due to the NATO summit in Washington, D.C., that took place before the rally from July 9 through July 11.
"Whistleblowers have disclosed to the Committee that the USSS led two briefings regarding the July 13 campaign rally on July 8, 2024, with the Western Pennsylvania Fusion Center (WPFC) and other stakeholders, to discuss the upcoming, unrelated

Tiger Woods and former president Donald Trump have crossed paths many times, most notably when Trump awarded Woods the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2019. In the wake of an attempted assassination of Trump this past weekend, Woods said he couldn't sleep and didn't arrive in Scotland in the right frame of mind for this week's British Open.
"I didn’t accomplish a lot because I wasn’t in the right frame of mind," Woods told the BBC. "It was a long night [in the wake of the assassination attempt] and that’s all we watched the entire time on the way over here."

A federal grand jury has indicted Sue Mi Terry, a former CIA analyst and senior fellow for Korea studies at the Council on Foreign Relations, on charges that she acted as an agent of influence for the South Korean intelligence service. According to the indictment, Terry was recruited in 2013 and received "handbags, clothing and at least $37,000 in covert payments to the think tank where she was employed."
Terry's lawyer says the charges of failure to register as a foreign agent and conspiracy to violate the Foreign Agents Registration Act are poppycock and malarky. “Dr. Terry has not held a security clearance for over a decade,

Democratic Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer is reportedly urging President Joe Biden to end his campaign bid, according to ABC News Chief Washington Correspondent Jonathan Karl.
During an interview on air at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Karl discussed the “intensifying” pressure that has been building against Biden since his poor debate performance against former President Donald Trump in late June. Karl stated that within a private one-on-one meeting Saturday between the Democratic Senate Leader and Biden, Schumer allegedly “made the case” for the president to step aside as the nominee.
“I am told that the pressure from Democratic leaders for Biden to get out of the race is intensifying.

As our esteemed President, Joseph Robinette Biden, recently intoned, we should tone down the hateful rhetoric and be about unity. Of course, doing so would overlook his evil and infamous “red light” speech given at Independence Hall (a sacrilege), a speech followed by innumerable comparisons between Trump and both Stalin and Hitler, not to mention the “very fine people” hoax, the bleach hoax, the Russia hoax, and on and on. Biden and his noisome minions are also forever intoning the “Threat to Democracy” mantra. It’s impossible to imagine that this rhetoric did not culminate in the recent event in Butler, Pennsylvania.

Why did Donald Trump select JD Vance? Obviously, their current policy views are simpatico, but JD Vance was not supportive back in 2016. He was pretty harsh about Donald Trump the candidate. You know who else was? Me. Dig back through my columns and you’ll see. I was never a Never Trumper. I was always going to vote for the GOP nominee, and I did vote for the nominee. But I was a Ted Cruz guy because I didn’t think Donald Trump was actually going to do the things Donald Trump said he was going to do and I said so. In fact, CNN used to have me on

I wrote previously about some of the reported interventions of top Democrats like Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) with Joe Biden in regard to staying in the race.
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) also spoke to Biden one-on-one and urged him to step aside.
But the reported word is so far Biden has rebuffed the effort, although it looks like they may have gotten to him a little with him supposedly also asking his people about how Kamala Harris would do if she ran instead. I wonder if they stepped up the effort because of all the reports of his wild interviews and other crazy things he has said.

Your expectations are too high if you thought that getting more details would reveal less blundering by former President Trump's security detail leading to his shooting on Saturday.
U.S. Senators, in a phone briefing by FBI Director Chris Wray and Secret Service chief Kimberly Cheatle, found that Trump's would-be killer, who murdered a man and critically wounded two others, had been under watch by security personnel for more than an hour before he took the lethal shots from a roof outside the hard security perimeter.
A reporter for Punchbowl News also reported that senators told him the assassin had been spotted and in the scopes of snipers

Days after an assassin’s bullet came within an estimated centimeter from killing former (and future) President Donald Trump, let’s revisit a “fact check” from USA Today from earlier this year.
Alex Soros, son of billionaire Marxist Trump hater George Soros tweeted out a picture of a bullet hole and a hand holding $47 in cash, a not so subtle intimation that Trump, the 45th and would be 47th president, should be shot, a post that given this past weekend’s event should give pause. (X) An article in The Gateway Pundit at the time suggested, and common sense would dictate, that the tweet was a threat against Trump.

BALTIMORE - If it weren't for the speedy No. 12, the Baltimore Ravens may not have won their latest Super Bowl championship.
Jacoby Jones, who died suddenly on Sunday at his home in New Orleans, was a star in the postseason during the 2012 season, which ended with a win in Super Bowl XLVII.
Stunned former teammates, current and former NFL players and Maryland leaders are mourning the news that Jones had died just days after his 40th birthday.
My brother, you will truly be missed. They can't take the memories and the hard work you put in on and off the football field. You always gave back

Fans of Tenacious D are "devastated" the band has cancelled the rest of their Australian tour in the wake of a controversial onstage joke about the attempted assassination of former US president Donald Trump.
Ben Parsons and his family travelled more than four hours from Armidale to Newcastle to see Jack Black's comedy rock duo in concert on Tuesday night.
They found out through social media the event had been cancelled.
"We were devastated but my kids were devastated as well," Mr Parsons told ABC NewsRadio.
"[I've] been a fan of Jack Black for a long time, was looking forward to it. [I'm] definitely out of pocket a lot now."
Comments:
Absolutely. Two can play at the lawfare game, especially when one side--the Left--has committed real crimes, unlike President Trump, who is being legally persecuted by people who should lose their legal credentials and go to the same place they were trying to send the innocent PDJT, prison. Not jail. Prison.
