Former President Donald Trump crushed the record for the longest-ever nomination acceptance speech on Thursday night at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, speaking for 92 minutes — past midnight on the East Coast — just days after surviving an assassination attempt.
ABC News and others reported that the 92-minute speech was a record. Trump often speaks off-the-cuff for more than an hour at campaign rallies, but to do so after nearly being killed, and late at night, was a signal that he is stronger than ever. The contrast to President Joe Biden was implicit, but clear. With aides suggesting Biden is only at his prime from the hours

Former President Donald Trump is vowing to save the United States auto industry from President Joe Biden’s Electric Vehicle (EV) mandate in his speech at the Republican National Convention (RNC).
During his RNC speech on Thursday evening, Trump vowed to “end the Electric Vehicle mandate on day one — thereby saving the U.S. auto industry from complete obliteration, which is happening right now, and saving U.S. customers thousands and thousands of dollars per car.”
Trump mentioned that China is looking to build manufacturing plants in Mexico to produce EVs that they want to then sell in the U.S. market without any tariffs. United Auto Workers (UAW) President Shawn Fain, who endorsed Biden

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump threatened countries and terrorist organizations currently holding American hostages in his speech Thursday at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
“To the entire world, we want our hostages back—and they better be back before I assume office, or you will be paying a very big price.”
Trump did not specify exactly which hostage-takers he was referring to, but the convention has emphasized the plight of the five American citizens still being held hostage by Hamas terrorists in Gaza.
The parents of Omer Neutra, an American citizen who is a soldier in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), addressed the convention on Wednesday night,

Just days after a smelly, pimply-faced incel tried to put a bullet in his head, President Trump accepted the Republican nomination for president.
He was surrounded by family and faithful Republicans, eager to help him make America great again. Hulk Hogan's speech made me want to take a hot-tub time machine back to April 19, 1775, and unload muskets at lobsterbacks at Lexington and Concord. Eric Trump's speech dropped truth bombs all over the joint. But President Trump transcended everything with a speech he reportedly wrote himself, days after a narcissistic animal tried to upend American history.

Don't believe the reports that Biden has conceded that he must leave the race.
He may eventually do so, but the Democrats are still piling on, which would definitely NOT happen if he really were writing a speech to leave the race to be delivered Sunday.
Democrats are still piling on, upping the pressure on Biden. The leaks out there indicating Biden is looking for a graceful exit are most definitely wrong. Mark Halperin, a former MSN reporter who is out on his own, has claimed that his sources have told him that Biden is preparing to exit the race. Lots of other media outlets

With much of the nation's attention on the Republican convention, some may not be keeping up with the Democrat civil war between the establishment and Joe Biden. Earlier in the day, Biden's campaign launched a nuclear blast at Chuck Schumer, Nancy Pelosi, and Barack Obama for attempting to lecture Biden on polling and his electoral standing. A campaign official told NBC's Mark Memoli that this triumvirate handed the 2016 election to Donald Trump by convincing Biden to step aside, and that their pressure campaign wouldn't work this time around.
The White House got into the act later, and perhaps a bit more diplomatically, in response to rumors

First Lady Melania Trump attended the Republican National Convention (RNC) in a custom red Christian Dior suit, styled by French designer Hervé Pierre.
Melania Trump attended the final night of the RNC to watch her husband, former President Donald Trump, accept the Republican Party nomination for president.
For the evening, Mrs. Trump wore a custom red Christian Dior suit. The blazer was previously donned by Mrs. Trump in Paris, France in 2017 when she met with France’s First Lady Brigitte Macron in her official capacity as first lady.
Mrs. Trump’s matching red skirt was also likely custom-made by Dior though tailored to be much slimmer

Milwaukee — Three and a half years ago, Donald Trump departed the White House feeling dejected by a narrow electoral loss that he refused to concede. The next two years looked similarly grim: Former allies launched primary campaigns against him, former donors stayed on the sidelines, and a sea of pundits predicted his campaign would be dead in the water come 2024.
But Thursday evening, he received a hero’s welcome from a convention audience that is completely unified behind him and feeling unusually confident in his chances of winning back the White House. This week’s confab in Milwaukee, which kicked off on Monday just two days after an assassination attempt

Donald Trump told the Republican National Convention (RNC) Thursday that, despite the pain and near-death experience of Saturday’s assassination attempt, he felt “serene” because “I had God on my side.”
President Trump began by thanking Americans for the love and support they’ve shown. “As you already know, the assassin’s bullet came within a quarter of an inch of taking my life. So many people have asked me what happened,” he said. “And therefore I will tell you exactly what happened, and you’ll never hear it from me a second time, because it’s actually too painful to tell.” Yet he said he felt God’s presence that day,

A large explosion rocked Tel Aviv overnight Thursday amid the war with Hamas.
The blast happened approximately one block from a U.S. embassy branch office.
Fox News foreign correspondent Trey Yingst was at the scene and shared video on X of him standing on broken glass that had shattered off a storefront. Yingst reported that emergency crews were checking a partially residential area to see if anyone had been injured by the blast. "I'm being very careful about the details," Yingst said, adding that he hadn't been able to speak with any sources yet because it's the middle of the night there. "We're trying to determine what exactly took place."

Washington — As President Joe Biden isolates at his Delaware beach home after testing positive for Covid-19, he is growing increasingly isolated from many corners of his Democratic Party as he faces deepening questions about whether he should continue his reelection campaign.
The announcement of Biden’s positive test on Wednesday came as calls from his party for him to step aside in the 2024 race are growing louder.//snip//“Defending Biden’s fitness for office is an untenable position for down-ballot Democrats,” according to a memo a leading Democratic research firm released Wednesday. It details that voters are “likely to see other Democrats’ defense of him as fit as dishonest” by a wide margin.

The University of Florida President Ben Sasse has announced his departure from the school due to his wife's recent health issues.
In a message posted on X, Sasse explained that his wife, Melissa, had been diagnosed with epilepsy in recent months and has been struggling with some memory issues.
Sasse said, "First, I’m a husband and dad. Second, I’ve been blessed to serve as president of the best dang public university in America – Go Gators! – and I’ve loved the challenge of giving this university everything I’ve got. But here’s the bottom line: Those callings are significantly at odds with each other right now.
