More Americans had a positive view of Russia than a year ago, according to a poll that looked at attitudes in NATO countries and elsewhere toward Moscow, the alliance and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
The survey by Pew Research Center found that the percentage of Americans who had a "favorable" view of Russia was 11 percent in 2024, which was an increase of 4 percentage points from the 7 percent last year. The poll of 3,600 American adults was conducted from January 5 to May 21 and had a margin of error of 2.1 percent.

I don't think Americans had any issues with the Russian people. At least they knew their 'news' agencies were full of it. Democrats here believe every word.

Gee. A rise from 7 to 11 percent? Sounds like a statistical glitch or differences in sample size.
I'd be more interested in seeing what we think about the Ukrainian oligarchs.

It's much too late now but given the fact that Ukraine has been corrupt for a long time before Russia planned their invasion, we should have let Putin take over and then worked out the recognition and diplomacy later. Killing tens of thousands of people on both sides has accomplished nothing except to maintain the coverup of brain-damaged Biden and his imbecile son making a lot of money from Ukraine and successfully maintaining the cover. The billions of dollars that we have gifted Ukraine to defend itself has been spread around to many pockets, including those of the Bidens.

Russia is more conservative than Europeans and American leftists, which is why they hate Russia, and Europeans want Russian resources.

For someone who has worked and lived in Russia for short periods over a 10 year time span, and has counted a number of Russian citizens as friends over those years, this is saddening. Russia, the country, is a truly evil, abysmal place. Putin kills anyone who dares oppose him often in very public and obvious ways to ensure sending a message to anyone who might criticize him.
He is a total megalomaniac, and his intent is to reassemble the Soviet Union to the extent that he can, and he cares not how many hundreds of thousands of Russians or Ukrainians must die for his
imperialist fantasies. And most Russians are patriotic, and with the media entirely controlled, many buy into the Putin fables. Yesterday I was skyping with a woman in Germany who is married to a Russian, and he was morose about how evil his country has become. He has long been a Russian patriot, supporting the war in Ukraine, but recently Russian strikes have killed many of his former colleagues, where he had worked for some years in Ukraine. He couldn't reconcile this killing of innocent civilians with his basic love for his country. His wife said it was driving him to deep depression.
Russia, the country is a very evil place. Some Russians, if you keep away from the subject of international politics can be pretty nice folks. That doesn't change that most of them fully support the evil that is done in their name.

Keep in mind the Obama/Biden IC/CIA/FBI/NSA persecution, investigations and prosecution against Trump...were also against Putin and the Russians,
BUT...they didn't wade thru data, courts and investigations against Russia, they called it "Fact" and immediately expelled several hundred russians, instituted sanctions, froze assets, seized bank accounts, cancelled contracts, rescinded treaties and had other Nations follow suit. All over things that NEVER HAPPENED, were entirely made up.
Russia didn't "Take Crimea" they already HAD Crimea, or at least half of it, under treaty, under Law...but Ukraine BROKE those treaties and tried to seize not only russian bases, private properties, but also Russias entire Black Sea Naval fleet, it's airbases, with Obama/Biden/Hillary encouragement and support(while biden and Kerry's kids are banking BIG BUCKS from Ukraine oligarchs that are getting control of the russian properties)
Ukraine rejected and rescinded several democratic elections in the currently Russian occupied, formerly "Independent/autonomous/self governing " regions, just as Russia has had several "democratic elections" since the whole thing started, Ukraine had ONE, then canceled any others as they were supposed to happen.
Eventually the Mueller/Fitgerald reports revealed the "Russians" trumps people were supposed to have colluded with actually worked for Hillary/The DNC or were US Govt agents, with fake id's/backstories, working undercover trying to entrap Trump folks...and were not RUSSIAN, they were actually from Ukraine.
Trumps people were proven to have ZERO CONTACTS of any kind with ANY Russians, and in fact zero contacts with ANY foreign people.

A 4% increase in favorable opinion is hardly a noteworthy change, except that it nearly doubles the the favorable rating. The rating is still VERY heavily weighted to the negative; but ever ready to conform news to fit their narrative, Newsweak avoids drawing attention to the negative, by calling it more favorable. No wonder the rag sold for a buck in 2010 (the company, not just the magazine), and they STILL had trouble finding a buyer.
