Affirmative Action Suit Details How Law

Northwestern Law School made faculty job offers to only three white men in the last three years, passing over intellectual giants in favor of less qualified black females, including one who graduated “near the bottom of her class” and another who plagiarized when writing an exam, according to a blistering lawsuit filed on Tuesday. Charging that “[f]aculty hiring at American universities is a cesspool of corruption and lawlessness,” the suit was filed by lawyers including Jonathan Mitchell, who was involved in the 2023 Supreme Court case on Harvard University admissions that blocked affirmative action, and signals that similar lawsuits could be in store against colleges across the country.

Those who hide behind another name for RACIAL and/or SEXUAL PREFERENCES deserve lawsuits galore. Show me a slave or slave-master today and I’ll change my tune …. Crickets … A real merit-based system serves society best. What, you’re not “good enough”? So study harder! I don’t want an Affirmative Action pilot or surgeon.

This should be a real killer for their law school. Hope that they get the stuffing kicked out of their illegal racist and sexist system, and are forced to go back to MERIT for hiring. And that black woman who finished at the bottom of her law school class is guaranteed to be fooling NO ONE. All her "peers" will realize pretty quickly that she isn't actually qualified and isn't actually a peer. This racist quota system has to be smashed flat. Look at the two idiots who were put on the SCOTUS by affirmative action. Sotomayor is clearly out of her intellectual league, and frankly, Jackson barely exceeds the category of dimwit. It is embarrassing to have such obviously unqualified people on the SCOTUS. Kagan, I disagree with politically, but I don't think she's stupid like the other two. And it is very clear that it isn't that there are NO competent blacks. Clarence Thomas is a brilliant lawyer, proof, along with Doctor Ben Carson that there are absolutely brilliant blacks out there, and there is no real need to lower standards. Perhaps there are fewer black top performers, it appears to be true, but frankly, the rotten inner city schools that way too many black kids are forced into, and poor home environment make it far less likely that a given black kid who is bright will have the chance to become a Clarence Thomas or a Ben Carson. Affirmative action artificially advancing mediocre or incompetent people does NOT help. That is largely on the Democrats and the evil teacher's unions wrecking the entire school systems of pretty much all major cities. Probably the best way to eliminate this disaster is the use of vouchers in all states so that students can find good schools, and not be stuck in failed government schools run by teacher's unions for the benefit of the teachers and to the severe detriment of the students.

Before I retired, I saw a perfect example of how the system is gamed. In filling a high finance position, my agency did a two-part selection process. The first process was a panel that systematically eliminated everyone who had more experience and more credentials (significant work experience in multiple facets of finance, advanced degrees, professional certifications etc.) than the preferred minority female applicant. Then, the preferred minority looked equally or slightly more qualified than the candidates forwarded to the selecting official. Voila! Guess who was selected. Several years (and multiple screw ups) later, she was reorganized out of her position, and a white male brought in to clean up the mess.

Straight White Men are basically persona non grata in today's employment world. With the focus on diversity, equity, and righting past wrongs, the scales have tilted too far to the minority/female side and discounted the white male. While we (White men) have done nothing wrong, we continue to be discriminated against and blamed for all of society's ills and are considered expendable in employment situations; even if we are the most experienced and qualified. This dumbing down of the work-force and blatant discrimination (in the name of social justice and equity) have resulted in the decline of the the country.

The results of a new poll by the New York Times and Siena College were published Wednesday afternoon. It's good news for former President Trump. Not so much for President Biden. Concerns over Biden's ability to govern rose to new heights. Mr. Trump now leads Mr. Biden 49 percent to 43 percent among likely voters nationally, a three-point swing toward the Republican from just a week earlier, before the debate. It is the largest lead Mr. Trump has recorded in a Times/Siena poll since 2015. Mr. Trump leads by even more among registered voters, 49 percent to 41 percent. Doubts about Mr. Biden’s age and acuity are widespread and growing.

I wasn’t surprised to see how badly President Joe Biden performed last week in his first debate showdown with former President Donald Trump. The warning signs have been apparent for a long time, despite outright lies and denial from the White House and Biden advisers who’ve had the audacity to tell us that the president, 81, is A-OK. But a lot of Americans probably haven’t paid as close of attention, and many of them were honestly surprised by the president’s physical and mental state. I hope they’re paying attention now. Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) is continuing her quest to raise taxes. She is now trying to convince the moderate Democrats and those who are against tax hikes to pass the progressives' tax hikes. For years, we have heard Democrat politicians criticize corporations that employ millions of people for not paying higher taxes. That may sound like a great idea — if it were realistic. Corporations will never pay their "fair share" in taxes. If Congress ultimately decides to raise the corporate tax, that will be a tax on the consumers because those corporations will raise prices to cover their costs and offset what they would be paying in taxes.
