It is a real mystery why Trump Derangement Syndrome has managed to destroy the legacies of so many formerly admired Hollywood celebrities. Robert DeNiro, whom I had always thought was a terrific actor, has become such a vicious and profane TDS victim that I have lost the urge to watch again any of his great performances.
After the braindead NY jury found Trump guilty of 34 fake felonies, Hollywood TDS-infected stars celebrated this egregious miscarriage of justice. While most of these so-called celebs are really has-beens seeking relevance,

I really can't say 'great' He plays the same character over and over. Adam Sandler is the same, but he OWNS it. :)

Not much of a mystery,
these people have had legitimate mentally illnesses long before Trump came along.

De Niro doesn't act. He play the parts of mean nasty people. He doesn't act because he is one.
H is double dipped. TDS and the little man complex.

It's one thing to civilly disagree with this or that and I get it that he hates DJT, but to go on the crazy rants he does makes him look like someone the white coats would be coming for...

I did NOT like the movie "Raging Bull." And until De Niro's TDS rant, I didn't realize that I have not ever liked De Niro. I had to go back nearly 25 years to a particular scene he played which I thought was funny. The movie was "Analyze That" in which he played a Mafia car salesman, fresh out of prison, who pointed out to hoity-toity potential buyers that the big car trunk could hold three bodies. He didn't make the sale.

I haven’t spent a dime on music since the Bush administration. And I have actively boycotted many many actors.
I doubt that any have noticed or care. They have their millions.

At Biden’s request DeNiro struts into a press conference outside the courthouse with his bodyguards trying to look the Movie God. He proceeds to go into a rant in a gravelly voice sounding like he’s possessed. His brain got taken over by Trump hate and turned him into a pathetic old man. Who on Gods earth does he think he’s influencing?

Hollywood...as WE knew it in the good ole days is gone....I only watch movies from my private collection now...anyone seen the original "Enemy of the State"?...it explains a lot of what's going on these days with washington.....watch out for the FBI and CIA...and NSA...they are corrupted by the K street and washington swamp creatures...and they are DANGEROUS!!...I still think the guns drawn at the raid on Mar-A-Largo was an attempt at shooting President Trump as he defended his wife and children and his personal belongings...they even took his medical records and his person letters and passport...what does that have to do with Presidential records?

I agree with her except for the part where she says Robert DeNiro was a great actor. He seems to play himself in every movie. I also cannot and do not watch anything these leftists idiots were/are in. I dislike seeing or hearing anything about them. That includes George Clooney as well as Obama and senile Joe.

I understand Alicia feelings. We both grew up in the two major entertainment cities of our country. Alicia in New York, and myself in Los Angeles. The relationship between celebrities and locals is an easy laissez-faire respect. They are treated as any other citizen. It is considered gauche to act "like a tourist", at least in Los Angeles. They need to run errands like anyone else and deserve their privacy, but we are proud they are our fellow citizens.
I believe this respect for actors and the big name directors is the legacy of the WWII entertainment industry. The Hollywood and Broadway Canteens, and the Bond Drives. Not to mention the Jimmy Stewart's and Clark Gable's that enlisted and served in the war. This current crop of malcontents have taken this proud legacy and are wearing it as a skin-suit to cover their ugly, devilish visage. The delicious irony of this whole escapade is that DeNiro has destroyed himself, just as Hollywood and Broadway are destroying themselves.
I'm also watching the old movies on You Tube. I pick an actor or actress and watch all their movies. I've done Herbert Marshall, Ronald Coleman, Joel McCrea, Olivia de Havilland, William Holden, and I'm currently on Ida Lupino - they also have the movies she directed. (Hat tip to a favorite Ldotter.) As others have commented; the stories, acting, sets and costuming are absolutely wonderful. If the theater owners really want to make some money, they should show these films!

As fat as I am concerned, the first good performance DeNiro did was "Taxi Driver", which coincidentally also the last good performance he did.
And in the unlikely event that I ever watch that again, I'll be cheering for the Harvey Keitel character, despite him being a low budget Epsteinian child pimp.
