Donald Trump got his 78th birthday present a day early — a handshake from his longtime bitter critic, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, encapsulating the Republican Party’s complete submission to its presumptive presidential nominee.
The twice-impeached 45th president and newly convicted criminal was back on Capitol Hill Thursday for the first time since his supporters beat up police officers and smashed their way through the US Capitol on January 6, 2021.

So, I'm supposed to open this trash article and give CNN clicks? No thanks. Just the first two sentences made me want to puke. I hope this and all the other so-called "news" outlets are completely bankrupted by their corruption.

They are so obsessed with this man, it's hysterical! He lives rent free in their brains 24/7. He sets out the cheese and they run right into the trap every time! Love it!

Typical cnn dribble. Barricade cops shot and killed Ashley, beat others, killing one, used tear gasp rubber bullets, and batons, and cnn says his supports beat up cops.

Who is more likely to give CNN government funding, Trump or The Big Bidet?
That is CNN's dream, to be paid by the government; no more pesky advertisers, no more public: "Just do as your told and you'll be rich," that's CNN's mentality and its dream gig and its definition of "success."

Complete capitulation by the GOP? Don't believe it for a second. If Trump becomes President, Pelosi will likely launch new impeachment proceedings on day one. The Republicans will do nothing. They can let the Democrats get their hands dirty fighting Trump. Nothing has changed. If an impeachment vote comes up in the Senate, watch the same Republican bad actors side with the Democrats as usual.

Ugh…I tried to read the whole thing, but lefty “news” pieces always make me feel like I fell into a sewer on another planet. However, this gem stuck out: “A rendition of “Happy Birthday” from House Republicans contrasted with the cries from more than three years ago to “hang Mike Pence” from Trump’s mob as they acted on his plea to “fight like hell” after weeks of promoting false claims about election fraud.”
Steven, you are an insidious creep.

Don't kid yourself.
The wobbly low-T RINOs will go back to being the squabbling me first crowd that they have been faster than the Vegetable can fill his depends-- they need to face the fact that there are only two choices now-- the vile and 'unprinipled' President Trump and the destruction of the Rule of Law and the Constitution by those puppet masters running the Vegetable.

Oh my god, I had to laugh at the first sentences. Could they be any nastier? CNN has no idea how horrible they are, even tho no one is watching anymore.

The media are culpable. They have lied, slandered, and have covered up for corrupt government officials. There is enough evidence for convictions.

PDJT is just playing the game. He is a smart business man, not a political grub. CNN doesn't know the difference. PS did not read trashy article.

Stevie! Ever notice how the Dems go in lockstep and everyone of the them repeat the same words. I think doing that shows that Dems are in complete submission to OBiden Don’t you?

" handshake from his longtime bitter critic, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell," Yeah. Right.
It means nothing and I hope DJT sees it for a meaningless gestsure. A leopard cannot change its spots. Neither can a politician afford to openly (repeat with emphasis on 'OPENLY') oppose the leader of his/her party. If he and the rest of his ilk (i.e. Paul Ryan and his merry band of never-Trumpers) hold true to form, their game of 'sorry, not sorry' is already underway.
Those of you who believe in the power of prayer get on it and stay on it.

How was the Donald able to convince all these left wing nug jobs to give him free advertising? This has to be the greatest marketing ploy in history.

Re: #5 - Pelosi is no longer Speaker of the House, so she can't launch anything if the Republican Speaker doesn't play along. If the Republican tent was reduced to the ever-Trump faithful, then Pelosi - or someone even worse - may very well control the House; however, Trump's broadening the GOP tent makes is less likely the democrats will hold the Senate and re-gain the House, so his efforts should be applauded. Trump was impeached twice in the House, but neither time did the Republican majority in the Senate - at the time - vote to remove him. Those bad Republicans also pushed forward Trump's judicial nominees, yielding a 6-3 majority on the USSC and changing the makeup of other federal courts, including the once dreaded 9th Circuit Court of Appeals in (gasp!) San Francisco. Trump is wisely establishing his influence with the Congressional Republicans, whom he will need to get legislation passed favorable to his agenda. Sometimes, good news is good news.

They finally got it into their thick heads that Trump will be the leader of the free world for the next four years. CNN is still hanging on to that violent insurrection myth.
