If you read nothing but posts from conservative influencers on X, you’d be convinced that Donald Trump has already won the 2024 election.[Snip] While it’s certainly possible the polls are accurate, the outcome of recent elections should give conservatives reason to pump the brakes on celebrating before any ballots have been cast. Case in point: A special election held in Ohio’s 6th Congressional District on Tuesday.[Snip] While Rulli defeated Kripchak in Tuesday’s matchup and expanded Republicans’ thin House majority, the election was much closer than originally predicted. Preliminary results indicate Rulli won the race by 9.4 points — a more than 20-point shift in Democrats favor.

Right, ignore the polls. Count the people attending Biden and Trump rallies. Now tell me who has the biggest poll.

This is actually great analysis. Between a better voter outreach and vote harvesting, and a little bit of outright fraud thrown in, polls mean absolutely nothing. This scenario happened in 2020. Why will 2024 be any different? Elections are run by democrats. Republicans seem to not want to get their hand dirty.

The biggest problem Republicans have getting out the vote is refusing to do what they say they will do for their constituents and their eagerness to bend over the aisle.

He's not wrong. It doesn't matter how many people attend the rallies IF THEY AREN'T REGISTERED TO VOTE. And you can be assured many of them are not. This is something Dems understand that Republicans don't - you must get people registered and get them to the polls.

Count all the people following lefty propagandists (in the news, in school, on the internet).
Count all the people 'saving the planet'.
Count all the people striving for 'social justice'.
Count all the people voting their entitlements
That's alot of people and they all vote Democrat.
They don't care who the actual nominee is. They would vote for a cardboard cutout if it gave them what they wanted.
Add a little voter fraud.
Add in government interference.
The Democrat (in this case Biden) wins.
Don't believe all the hype. Trump has an uphill battle.

Yes and no.
First time elections are always closer than the previous incumbent's wins. And special elections, runoffs, are turnout driven.
But Republicans shouldn't take anything for granted. Act like you're 10 points down everywhere.

So what part of "get registered and vote" don't they understand? The dems cheat and they are very good at it. I don't get it either. Vote, it's not really that difficult to comprehend.

Democrats don’t have that problem, people are turning out from all over the world to vote for them.

Oh you can bet if they take the time and have the energy to stand in those long, long lines and stand and listen to a speech by Trump, they took the time to register to vote.

It's not so easy overcoming millions of Ballot Box stuffings. That's where the votes will come from just like last time and that's what needs to be blocked.

Our problem is not our voter turnout, it's the Democrats cheating.
I think this election will end it, one way or another.

I agree with #2 and #4. Even Romney had more people at his rallies than Obama, but we know who became president.

Yes, ignore the polls. Conservatives don't like to be bothered with polls, surveys and meaningless questions on the telephone but come November it's a different story. Also, many republicans have registered as independents but Trump is the man.

#9, people who've spoken to people at these various rallies can tell you that is not true. And that's the big mistake Republicans make - they assume that is true, but it is not.

What are the Republicans doing to get out the vote? How about setting up voter registration booths at those rallies? And then making sure those people vote. In places like this Ohio district, were there any GOTV efforts? And Trump rallies are just preaching to the choir. Trump needs to personally visit each one of these swing states and meet the voters directly. Make sure everyone is registered. Encourage them to vote early or vote by mail. His family, including Melania, need to be part of this effort.

A special election is not a great forecast of the turnout you will see in the next general election.

Finally! Someone is writing what I'm thinking. 2024 might just be another "Red Wave" with a president added that never materializes because Republicans don't or won't vote OR the democrat machine gins up enough ballots to win. I am scared, and rightly so. Stop drinking the media koolaid and get to work!

Republicans have a lousy turnout record when it comes to special elections and runoffs.
