During the pandemic, the American people started to feel that Big Government was very cozy with Big Pharma. Now we know just how close they were. New data from the National Institutes of Health reveals the agency and its scientists collected $710 million in royalties during the pandemic, from late 2021 through 2023. These are payments made by private companies, like pharmaceuticals, to license medical innovations from government scientists.

The cost of medicine is crazy. Why is it so crazy, because the pharmaceutical companies are buying Congress and the NIH.

My tax dollars pay their salaries and my tax dollars pay for the grants to develop these drugs. So why is it that profits aren't given back to me? If Pharma and its minions want all the profits then they should underwrite ALL the risk - not taxpayers.

Indeed, #2. I had robotic hernia surgery a couple years ago. I was trying to get a ballpark estimate of the cost. Online searches showed a range of $7-10k. When we checked in to the "medical mall" (that's exactly what it looked like), they gave me an itemized statement before I went back for prep. A little over $40k. "Would you like to pay your portion now?" Uuuhh, I'll wait until insurance sorts it out. Fortunately my company insurance was decent.

Where in the Constitution is there any mention of an NIH or FDA, etc? Federal employees working for a federal department that regulates the very products they're receiving royalties on because they helped develop for private companies? But Congress will keep on funding these departments because, well, the children or something.

I agree #3. It's like buying stock. If the company profits go up, so does the stock price. However, once again the news media is putting out old stories and presenting them as new info. We knew Fauci was making money off of the so called vaccine many years ago. Along with the phony accusations that Trump didn't do enough to stop the virus. They never actually state what actions Trump should have taken to stop the spread that Trump didn't do. He followed Fauci's advice for the most part because he had to.

On top of the $710 Million in royalties, 45% of the FDA's budget itself comes from pharmaceutical companies. Add to that the money the pharmaceutical companies pay to sponsor some portion of virtually all news broadcasts in America.....they own the government, the media and us.

The drug 'safety' and 'testing' system is 100% totally corrupted. This is known by the term "regulatory capture" where the industry which is supposedly regulated by a bureaucratic agency becomes CAPTURED by the industry via bribes and corruption so that now the bureaucrats work FOR the industry, maximizing benefit to the industry, and eliminating any and all protections of consumers. This is exactly what has happened. NIH, FDA and CDC are ALL fully controlled by Big Pharma, and don't give one damn what happens to 'mere consumers' as long as the pharma companies and crooked bureaucrats all get rich.

No wonder they worked so hard to hide the efficacy of Ivermectin which was readily available, and cheap. This would have eliminated those royalties which is likely why it was full-court press against such use. Believe the CDC was forced to remove their restriction from their website. Ivermectin is an antiparasitic drug.[7] After its discovery in 1975,[8] its first uses were in veterinary medicine to prevent and treat heartworm and acariasis.[9] Approved for human use in 1987,[10] it is used to treat infestations including head lice, scabies, river blindness (onchocerciasis), strongyloidiasis, trichuriasis, ascariasis and lymphatic filariasis.[9][11][12][13] It works through many mechanisms to kill the targeted parasites,[11] and can be taken by mouth, or applied to the skin for external infestations.[11][14] It belongs to the avermectin family of medications.[11] William Campbell and Satoshi Ōmura won the 2015 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for its discovery and applications.[15] It is on the World Health Organization's List of Essential Medicines,[16][17] and is approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration as an antiparasitic agent.[18] In 2021, it was the 341st most commonly prescribed medication in the United States, with more than 100,000 prescriptions.[19] It is available as a generic medicine.[20][21] I suggest we place a very high tax on such royalties going forward so the taxpayers may benefit.

You don't go work for the government because you want to get rich! Such a system would attract wrongly motivated people and lead to all sorts of corruption. However that is exactly the perversion to our established system of governance evolved over hundreds of years. Now we see the rivers of money flowing to nondescript, unaccomplished bureaucrats in exchange for access and influence. One thing we learn from life is that persons afflicted with "wealth fixation" will never be satiated. They will forever remain "one new bribe" away from happiness.

They have the Right still looking for communists under the bed while the corporate globalists (fascists) take over everything.

All political watchers will understand the #1 EU political enemy of the WEF globalists and U.S/NATO State Dept is Hungarian President Viktor Orban. The western globalists, leftists, communists and advocates of multinational corporations running government (ie Fascists) consider Orban their arch nemesis. To wit, USAID and CIA operative Samantha Power has spent time organizing political opposition in Hungary. However, for some reason the nationalist alliance in alternative media do not have a good memory to keep track the footprints and connect the dots; but we do. The reality of our State Dept organizing political opposition in Hungary is not disputed. It was done openly.

Voters across Europe spent the weekend sending a message to the EU’s political class: a nationalist and populist shift is happening across the continent. The European Parliamentary election held over the past few days saw the biggest wins for nationalist and populist parties in European Union history. As the results poured in across Europe, the media spun the news as an ominous “far right” victory throughout the EU. News outlets made it seem as if fascism had once again reared its ugly head over Europe after eight decades of liberal peace and prosperity. This couldn’t be further from the truth.

She wasn’t the only one. If the press didn’t utter the ‘unverified’ talking point, it was the Russian disinformation lie that the intelligence community manufactured to tilt the election. We knew the truth. It took the liberal media months to catch up, finally agreeing with The New York Post, which initially reported on the laptop’s contents. Emma-Jo Morris verified its contents.

The US district judge Aileen Cannon ruled she would strike the paragraph because Trump was not charged with a crime for the conduct it described and would be unfairly prejudicial if a jury later saw it at trial.

A predominantly Black neighborhood in Hartford, Connecticut, hoping to fend off violent crime, has turned to an armed group of citizens to patrol their streets by land and by air. The so-called "Self-Defense Brigade" — made up of about 40 legally armed citizens — are voluntarily patrolling the streets of Hartford’s North End wearing body cameras mostly on nights and weekends, according to the group’s founder, Cornell Lewis. When the armed volunteers are not on the streets, the group monitors video feeds from a dozen drones hovering over the neighborhood, and 75 home surveillance cameras in the neighborhood.

Puerto Rico congressional representative Jenniffer González defeated Gov. Pedro Pierluisi in a surprise upset during a primary election held Sunday by their pro-statehood party. The two ran on the same ticket four years ago under the New Progressive Party, but González, a Republican, announced her plan to challenge Pierluisi, a Democrat, in early December. Public jabs between the two turned acrimonious during the campaign. Puerto Rico’s main political parties are divided by the island’s political status, so it’s common to find both Republicans and Democrats within the same party.

The Democratic National Committee was watching earlier this year as campaigns nationwide were experimenting with artificial intelligence. So the organization approached a handful of influential party campaign committees with a request: Sign onto guidelines that would commit them to use the technology in a “responsible” way. The draft agreement, a copy of which was obtained by The Associated Press, was hardly full of revolutionary ideas. It asked campaigns to check work by AI tools, protect against biases and avoid using AI to create misleading content.

The conventional wisdom concerning vice-presidential picks is that they don’t really matter because voters focus on the top of the ticket in presidential elections. This is ordinarily true, but 2024 is no ordinary election. This time the winner will be the oldest president ever inaugurated, so it’s eminently possible that his vice-president will be called on to finish his term. We know what that means if Biden wins, so Trump’s running mate will receive more than the usual amount of voter scrutiny.
