ISRAEL -- A U.S. official confirmed to ABC News Israeli missiles have hit a site in Iran.
The official could not confirm whether Syria and Iraq sites were hit as well. An explosion was heard in the city of Qahjavaristan, Isfahan, according to Iranian Media.
They also report that there has been a suspension of flights to Tehran, Isfahan and Shiraz.
Iran launched hundreds of missiles and drones into Israel last weekend. Israeli officials said the country's Iron Dome defense system endured a big test from Iran's attack on Saturday, intercepting 99% of the 300 "threats of various types" thrown at it.

House Democrats who led an investigation into former President Donald Trump’s role in the January 6 Capitol riot say they are worried about their safety and being arrested if the former president wins reelection.
They fretted to CBS News in a recent piece about a March 18 Trump post on Truth Social that said former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) “should go to Jail along with the rest of the Unselect Committee!” Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA), who has consistently fundraised off all Democrat investigations and impeachments of Trump, told the network, “My wife and I have had conversations about what life would look like if the worst happened… . President Trump could go to jail if Judge Juan Merchan rules him in contempt of court in his New York City bookkeeping trial.
When court resumed on Thursday after a day off, New York City prosecutors argued that former President Trump had broken the gag. Merchan imposed the order in March and later expanded it to keep Trump quiet about the judge's daughter who works to elect Democrats, including Joe Biden. She has used the trial as a fundraiser for her Democrat clients.
Prosecutors claim that Trump has broken the gag order ten times and have asked for higher fines and other punishment for him.

NEW YORK — A jury of 12 people was seated Thursday in former President Donald Trump’s hush money trial in New York, and the court quickly turned to selecting alternate jurors.
The rapid progress Thursday afternoon propelled the case closer to opening statements and weeks of testimony in a case charging the Republican ex-president with falsifying business records to suppress stories about his sex life in the final days of the 2016 election.
The jury includes a sales professional, a software engineer, an English teacher and multiple lawyers. The case centers on $130,000 Trump’s lawyer and fixer Michael Cohen paid to porn actor Stormy Daniels.

Ever since Iran's largely failed missile and drone attack on Israel last Saturday, the world has been holding its breath waiting to see what Bibi Netanyahu would do in response. Despite the White House urging "caution" and "restraint," Israel clearly seems to realize that a failure to respond would only serve as a sign of weakness and an invitation for Iran to continue attacking at will. It's now being reported that Netanyahu's first impulse was to hit back quickly and decisively, potentially striking Iran on Monday evening. But Israel reportedly informed the White House on Monday that a decision had been made to wait a while longer. (Axios)

The war of words between Israel and Iran is heating up as Israel's response to Iran's missile and drone attack last week draws near. The t*-for-tat attacks and retaliation cycle are escalating as a war neither side wants becomes more likely with each statement emanating from the two nation's capitals. “The nuclear facilities of the Zionist enemy have been identified and all the necessary information from all targets is at our disposal,” the IRGC’s Brigadier General Ahmad Haghtalab was quoted as saying.
“Our fingers are on the trigger of firing strong missiles to destroy the designated targets in response to a potential attack by them,”

Former President Donald Trump’s campaign is asking Republican candidates who use his name, image, or likeness to raise funds to give five percent of the proceeds to Trump. The move is ostensibly intended to stop “scammers” from harming his presidential campaign.
The development comes as Team Trump is trying to catch up to President Joe Biden when it comes to raising funds. The demand was made in a letter sent to Republican digital vendors earlier this week.
The letter announced that Trump’s campaign is “issuing new guidelines for candidates and committees who choose to use President Trump’s name, image, and likeness in fundraising solicitations.”

Pro-Palestine protesters at Columbia University have been arrested as police raided their 'Gaza solidarity camp.'
The school's president, Minouche Shafik, sent a letter to the community stating she authorized the arrested, reported WABC.
'I regret that all of these attempts to resolve the situation were rejected by the students involved. As a result, NYPD officers are now on campus and the process of clearing the encampment is underway,' Shafik said. Video shows police raiding an encampment protesters set up on campus in 'solidarity in Gaza' hours before Shafik was scheduled to testify before the House Education and Workforce Committee about rampant anti-Semitism remarks on campus.

NEW YORK – U.S. mortgage rates increased by the most since June and also crossed the 7% threshold for the first time since December, muddling home sales growth, a Thursday report said.
The average rate on a 30-year fixed-rate mortgage rose to 7.10% for the week ended April 18 from 6.88% the week prior, Freddie Mac reported. The 22-basis point increase was the largest in about 10 months.
“As rates trend higher, potential homebuyers are deciding whether to buy before rates rise even more or hold off in hopes of decreases later in the year,” said Sam Khater, Freddie Mac’s chief economist. “Last week, purchase applications rose modestly, but it remains unclear

The Chinese Embassy has held meetings with congressional staff to lobby against the legislation that would force a sale of TikTok, according to two of the Capitol Hill staffers.
TikTok, which is owned by the Beijing-based company ByteDance, has repeatedly denied a relationship with the Chinese government and sought to distance itself from its Chinese origins. But now, with the fate of legislation to force the sale of the company facing an uncertain path forward in the Senate, the Chinese Embassy appears to be leveraging its political weight to protect the company’s future in the United States.

A woman who was selected to serve on the jury in former President Donald Trump's criminal trial in New York was excused Thursday after she expressed concerns about being identified publicly and questioned her ability to remain impartial.
The juror, a young woman who was chosen to serve on Tuesday, said she "definitely has concerns now" after friends and family asked her if she was a juror, based on reports in the media about those who have been selected. "Aspects of my identity have already been out there in public. Yesterday alone, I had friends and family push things to me,"

Google has fired 28 employees over their participation in a 10-hour sit-in at the search giant’s offices in New York and Sunnyvale, California, to protest the company’s business ties with the Israel government, The Post has learned.
The pro-Palestinian staffers — who wore traditional Arab headscarves as they stormed and occupied the office of a top executive in California on Tuesday — were terminated late Wednesday after an internal investigation, Google vice president of global security Chris Rackow said in a companywide memo.
“They took over office spaces, defaced our property, and physically impeded the work of other Googlers,” Rackow wrote in the memo obtained by The Post. “Their behavior was
