Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) had kind words for far-left CNN host Jake Tapper Wednesday after the cameras appeared to turn dark.
“You’re always fair,” a mic’d up Johnson said during an exchange heard by Breitbart News moments after Johnson’s long appearance on CNN’s The Lead with Jake Tapper. Johnson joined Tapper remotely from outside the House floor in the Capitol as a handful of reporters looked on. He remarked during the interview that he had known Tapper, a proven leftwing partisan known for broadcasting false claims, for a long time.

It seems he can be described as such:
One word: chameleon
Two words: undocumented democrat.
But removing him right now would be counterproductive and serve no real purpose for repub voters.

We have to accept the fact that most elected Republicans are Democrats. Hat tip: Dan Bongino.
Which is why elections don't interest me much anymore, especially here in California. After Trump, that's it. Sayonara. Ammo up and prepare to defend yourselves, your homes and your families. They won't.

What I do not understand is that Johnson can see what bad shape the country is in and knows the blame can be laid at the feet of Biden and the democrats and he still makes these horrific decisions. Democrats are the cause of all this misery and the American people know it. Instead of standing on promises made and adhering to basic fiscal responsibility, Johnson caves. Add to that fact that the American people want to stop funding the garbage that passes as “urgent”. He would have the support of the American people who want the border closed and the spending reined in, and therefore, I just do not understand Johnson’s thinking. Some say that “they got to him”, but seriously is there no integrity with this bunch of Republicans. They know much more than we know and it is clear that the country is being destroyed, yet this fool gives Biden and the dems everything they want?! It makes no sense if Johnson is working to save the country. Clearly, then the only conclusion we can come to is that Johnson has decided for whatever reason to betray the country and the American people. This is no mistake and he is not playing 3D chess. This is purposeful. He knows the base will be furious and rightly so, and yet he persists in these unfathomable decisions. He is just one more in a long line of Republicans who have decided to surrender to America’s enemy. The reason is immaterial at this point. The act of betrayal speaks for itself.
To those of you who want to keep him as Speaker, I understand the political peril that comes with forcing him out. I get it. We can’t rely on Republicans in the House to come together to support his removal and get behind another candidate for Speaker and cut the democrats off at the knees. It appears we are in quite a quandary. If we keep him, he will continue to betray us. If we oust him, there is no real chance that Republicans will unite against democrats to put someone else in the seat. This is what happens when you understand you cannot trust republicans to unite in the same manner that democrats do. We are victims of the effect that Rinos with their contrarian natures continue to have to hamstring us.

I agree with all the previous posters, I had liked him, but now, kissing the a** of the likes of Tapper, or any of the hatefilled UNFAIR media has now destroyed his credibility and his trustworthiness. Replace him, MTG is right!

I really wish people would stop pretending that there is a difference between the Ds and the Rs.
When you understand that we have five hundred and thirty five blackmailed and compromised electeds, you begin to see that it matters not which one is in charge as the results are ALWAYS bad for us...

Johnson fell into the fake republican mold like McCain, Romney, McConnell, McDaniel, Scarborough, Flake, McCarthy..what a disappointment . They care more about catering to the fake media than their own.

#14, he is a weak man and a career politician. His motives are simple: 1.) stay a part of the elite class 2.) get rich. Look at him. Prim, manicured, coiffed and soft, he is not a fighter. He was only chosen as Speaker because the Republicans were desperate and he was inoffensive.

Yes, for those who are tired of republican speakers getting tossed out for not standing up for their people and getting steamrolled by the rabid nutjob minority I get it. For all intents and purposes, we're stuck with the mealymouthed, soft, weak sounding clod Mike Johnson. Ask yourselves this question. Did Nancy "Vodka Tonic' Pelosi ever say to Sean Hannity off air that he was always fair? Enough said.

Guess #3 along with Mike Johnson only cares about foreign aid while this country is being purposefully destroyed from within.
BTW - appearing on CNN"s Jake Tapper show just reinforces to its limited audience just how weak and hungry for attention Republicans are.

So what I really want to know is how did he get this job in the first place? How did republicans NOT know he is a chameleon? Who put him up for this job in the first place? Who is backing him financially? Who is funding his campaigns?
These questions need to be answered not just for him but for any potential replacement.

It is hard to believe that the Speaker of the House wastes his time watching CNN, much less thinks that it is fair reporting. Most of the commenters here seem correct to me: career cocktail party politician, corrupt, elite, hates the working class.

Johnson is a disgusting traitor. Trump needs to get as far away from Johnson as possible. I hope Johnson is voted out, and right now would be great. I was for Jordan or Biggs to start with, so correct the error with Johnson now.
