April’s total solar eclipse promises to be a scientific bonanza, thanks to new spacecraft and telescopes — and cosmic chance.
The moon will be extra close to Earth, providing a long and intense period of darkness, and the sun should be more active with the potential for dramatic bursts of plasma. Then there’s totality’s densely populated corridor stretching from Mexico to the U.S. to Canada.
Hundreds if not thousands of the tens of millions of spectators will double as “citizen scientists,” helping NASA and other research groups better understand our planet and star.
They’ll photograph the sun’s outer crownlike atmosphere, or corona, as the moon passes between the sun and Earth,

One of the many weaknesses Democrats have is their inability to understand the opposition.
This was most evident following former President Donald Trump’s upset victory against Hillary Clinton in the 2016 presidential election.
Democrats were left shell-shocked and bewildered because they just didn’t get Trump’s appeal, nor did they comprehend how repulsive the former secretary of state was to ordinary Americans.
Still, it seems they may get another crack at learning this lesson in the 2024 presidential race, if MSNBC host and former White House press secretary Jen Psaki is any indication.
She correctly identified the threat a strong third-party candidate presents to President Joe Biden’s re-election bid

Over the years, investigations and reports have revealed a disturbing culture of corruption, favoritism, and cover-ups among the leaders of the U.S. Capitol Police (USCP). With incidents dating back to the late 1990s, high-ranking officials, including assistant chiefs and deputies, have been implicated in various forms of misconduct including fraud, forgery, obstruction of justice, and others.
A new Blaze Media investigation highlights some of the shadier aspects of the USCP, detailing a culture in which misconduct not only goes unpunished, but is often rewarded. “Corruption is endemic at the highest levels of the United States Capitol Police,” the report reads.

WASHINGTON: The United States warned Russian authorities earlier in March about a terrorist attack possibly targeting "large gatherings" in Moscow, the White House said Friday, hours after a mass shooting killed at least 60 outside the Russian capital. "Earlier this month, the US government had information about a planned terrorist attack in Moscow -- potentially targeting large gatherings, to include concerts" and Washington "shared this information with Russian authorities," National Security Council spokeswoman Adrienne Watson said.
The Islamic State group on Saturday claimed responsibility for the attack on Crocus City Hall, in Moscow. The attack resulted in the deaths of more than 60 individuals and left 145 injured.

Democrats would love nothing more than to see former President Donald Trump go down— and Rep. Katie Porter’s (D-CA) recent reaction in an interview proved just that.
During an appearance on Pod Save America, Porter could barely contain her excitement when she thought about how Trump would “meet his demise.”
The Democrat smiled and giggled when she discussed what she thinks will be the future of Trump, appearing to hope for prison or a heart attack.

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken wrapped up a trip to Israel on Friday, having failed to convince Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu and the rest of the leadership there to essentially surrender to Hamas.

Members of the Biden administration suffered embarrassment earlier in the morning after their "ceasefire" resolution went down in the flames at the UN. They are such amateurs that they can't even throw Israel under the bus without screwing it up.
Blinken continued to try, though, meeting with Netanyahu and lecturing him on the finer points of combating Hamas. You know, because if anyone knows about defeating terrorists,

Former President Barack Obama privately met with President Biden on at least two occasions and expressed concern that he could lose the 2024 election, according to a report.
A new report from TIME Magazine claimed that Obama met with Biden last June to deliver a warning about his re-election chances. Obama allegedly advised Biden to become more aggressive and make the upcoming presidential race a referendum on Trump.
During a private lunch, Obama told Biden his campaign was unstable, persuading unhappy voters would be a challenge and defeating Trump would be more difficult than 2020, according to a Democrat briefed on the discussion.

In February, there were more than 189,922 illegal alien encounters— higher than the 156,000 encounters at the southern border in February 2023.
On Thursday, nearly 100 illegal immigrants rushed the southern border, bursting through razor wire and surging the El Paso, Texas border wall.
On top of the ongoing border crisis, the federal government was facing a looming shutdown pending the passing of a spending bill. White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre confirmed that regardless of what would have happened, Biden still planned to check out for the weekend,

Donald Trump was right. It's going to be a bloodbath when China's BYD starts selling its "fun-to-drive" Seagull EV in this country at a price not even Tesla can match.
The five-door hatchback doesn't have the best range or fanciest amenities. But what it does have is a top price under $14,000, good safety features, aggressive looks, and plenty of financial backing from Beijing. BYD's specialties are batteries and high-tech manufacturing, and they're using both to aggressively expand overseas production and deliveries.
An improved version for South American markets, called the Dolphin Mini, is already on sale, starting at $21,990.

The Center is completely mad, the madness in question being an attack of megalomania that makes the Pyramid of Cheops seem like a statement of modesty by the pharaoh.
The vast proposed building is in Jackson Park, and it was the subject of legal actions because a group called Protect Our Parks believed that it was contrary to the covenant governing the park’s usage: but, perhaps not surprisingly, the friends of Obama won the actions.

After so-called "progressive prosecutors" implemented supposedly "equitable" standards in response to widespread violence in the summer of 2020 that caused upwards of $2 billion in damage across the country, the natural consequences of soft-on-crime policies followed: more crime and more victims.
Democrats continue to insist that their embrace of such lenient policies and programs — ones that treat perpetrators as victims while pushing actual victims to the margins — have not, in fact, caused more crime. Democrats say that "progressive" policies have actually helped reduce crime and claim FBI crime statistics prove as much.

Some 8 to 10 million illegal aliens from all over the world, as expected, have flooded across the border since President Joe Biden took office.
A demagogic candidate Biden, remember, in 2019 invited those massing at the southern border to "surge" into the United States without specifying that they first needed legal sanction: "We immediately surge to the border all those seeking asylum."
In contrast, we know legal immigration is America's great strength, but it has always depended on a few key prerequisites.
Immigration must be legal and measured.
Why? Because only the host nation can adjudicate how many immigrants it can successfully accept and assimilate. It has no desire to encourage Balkanized tribalism

All told, Texas’s population rose by 473,453 in 2023. With 30.5 million residents, its population is second only to California. However, tens of thousands of people are fleeing the Golden State. It’s not hard to see why many of them are relocating to Texas: Economic

Former U.S. President Donald Trump came a step closer on Friday to reaping a major windfall from his social media firm after investors in a blank-check acquisition company approved a tie-up currently worth about $6 billion.
The deal values Trump's majority stake in the company that holds his app Truth Social at about $3.6 billion. The windfall could prove vital as Trump grapples with the financial fallout of a string of legal cases against him, including a $454 million judgment in a civil fraud case in New York. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) this week announced she filed a complaint to ask for the disbarment of Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis over her relationship with a former special counsel involved in the Trump case.
On social media, Ms. Greene wrote that she is filing the complaint and alleged Ms. Willis engaged in “corrupt actions.”
The district attorney, she wrote, “should’ve been removed from her political persecution of President Trump after it was revealed she went on lavish vacations with her lover Nathan Wade,” adding that Mr. Wade was “paid hundreds of thousands of dollars.”

Washington — The House passed a massive spending package on Friday to fully fund the government through September, sending it to the Senate ahead of a midnight deadline to avert a partial shutdown.
The House approved the $1.2 trillion package, which was unveiled early Thursday, in a vote of 286 to 134. The package wraps six spending bills into one to fund about three-quarters of the government until the end of the fiscal year. Another package funding the rest of the government cleared Congress two weeks ago. A majority of Republicans voted against the measure, with House conservatives objecting to the funding levels in the agreement that House

A migrant TikToker with a 500,000-strong online following is offering his comrades tips on how to “invade” unoccupied homes and invoke squatter’s rights in the United States.
Venezuelan national Leonel Moreno, who appears to live in a suburb of Columbus, Ohio, said in a recent video that under US law, “if a house is not inhabited, we can seize it.” He appeared to be referring to adverse possession laws, commonly known as squatter’s rights, which allow unlawful property occupants rights over the property they occupy without the owner’s consent, in certain circumstances.
Moreno claimed in the viral TikTok clip, which has drawn more than 3.9 million views, that

Former President Donald Trump has just days to come up with a bond, a nearly half-billion-dollar bond, to ensure that he will pay the outrageously excessive judgment against him in the lawsuit filed by New York’s Democratic attorney general, Letitia James. Nailing Trump has been a longtime goal for James — in her campaign for state attorney general, she pledged to “bring him down.” Now, with the help of a compliant judge — in New York, Trump did not have the right to a jury trial — James is threatening to confiscate Trump’s assets before he is even able to appeal the verdict against him.

San Diego County is one of the largest segments of California's homeless population, with more than 10,000.
Locals in Pacific Beach say that the vagrants have moved from the city's downtown to their neighborhood and are openly defying laws banning them from camping out in their vehicles.
The homeless are accused of not just camping out but bringing in drugs and leaving their garbage on the streets, ironically right next to signs that tell them they're not allowed to park there.
Debbie Turnbull, who lives in the area, claims that it's a problem of the city trying to take the homeless out of the downtown area.

Americans grow increasingly frustrated with the miserable economy, which presents particular hurdles for workers of modest means. These angst-ridden masses of struggling citizens blame Biden for their woes, as proven by brand new battleground polling. In addition, these voters long for the more prosperous days of President Trump. According to the corporate media narrative, the economy is just swell. But regular Americans know better, and they resent the propaganda attempts to make them believe a lie about their own challenging financial reality.

The FDA has already removed a page that said: “Should I take ivermectin to prevent or treat COVID-19? No.”
Within 21 days, the FDA will remove another page titled, “why you should not use ivermectin to treat or prevent COVID-19,” according to the settlement announcement, which was filed with federal court in southern Texas.

Among the heart-breaking scenes from the Middle-East are video reports showing civilian casualties of the current war. In the West, we cringe at those images, especially the ones showing small children — dead, grievously wounded, or orphaned.
In Gaza, there seems to be little reciprocity of sympathy. Newsmax reports that more than seventy percent of Gazans approve of the October 7 attack on Israel, in which more than 1,200 Israelis were killed, many by unspeakable torture. More than eighty percent deny that the atrocities were committed, even after watching the videos sadistically, and boastfully, recorded by the terrorists themselves. This reminds us of the self-contradiction

President Biden flew into Texas for two days of fundraising. He didn't have time for a trip to the border, though.
If he had gone to El Paso, as he did last year for a very brief trip where parts of the city were sanitized for him, he would have seen this scene on Thursday. Don't you dare call it an invasion, though. They are just storming the border to find jobs and live peacefully.
Biden stopped in Dallas on Wednesday for two fundraisers. Both were private affairs. Poor old Joe doesn't do well with big events. At an event hosted by Dallas lawyer Russell Budd, a big Democrat donor,

The UN Security Council has rejected a US-sponsored resolution calling for an "immediate and sustained ceasefire" in Gaza.
It comes after permanent members Russia and China chose to veto a motion tabled on Friday.
Israel has been coming under increasing pressure to allow more humanitarian aid to reach over two million Palestinians - and better protect civilians.
The draft had undergone "many rounds of consultations" with members of the 15-seat council, and marked a toughening of America's stance towards Israel. Linda Thomas-Greenfield, the US ambassador to the UN, said the resolution's failure was "really outrageous and below the dignity of the UN Security Council".

He also hinted that New York Attorney General Letitia James and Judge Engoron chose the huge fine to stop him running for president.

It’s no secret that Biden and Netanyahu have a strained relationship, not least because the former has one or two marbles rolling around upstairs. Biden has been wrong on major foreign policy initiatives for the past four decades. Israel didn’t get along with Obama; why would they think any differently of his vice president? The president has warned the Israelis to avoid moving in on Rafah, the last bastion of Hamas in Gaza. It also doesn’t help that top Democrats, like Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY), blasted Israeli political leadership and called for new elections

Tony Bobulinski’s testimony before Congress is upsetting all the right people. As a former associate of Hunter Biden, he has been spilling the tea about the Biden family’s business dealings, which isn’t sitting well with folks on the left. They responded to his involvement with House Republicans’ impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden by doing their level best to smear and discredit the witness. However, Bobulinski has been fighting back.
Jessica Tarlov, a left-leaning co-host on Fox News’ “The Five,” stepped in it on Wednesday when she claimed, without evidence, that Bobulinski was being funded by Super PAC aligned with former President Donald Trump during a recent broadcast.

I don’t think many Americans realize how difficult it is to come to America legally.
Among my own friends, I know an academic who has spent the past year in legal limbo, not allowed to work between teaching positions and constantly waiting on whether he can stay in America or not. In Georgia, I know a couple — the husband is American, the wife British — who can still not legalize as a couple, despite years of marriage and years of being together, who want to get themselves to America.

In perfect Democratic Party form, the Biden administration has dropped another government burden on the private sector. Two days ago, the White House rolled out “the toughest-ever” automobile emissions standards. The objective, of course, is to force Americans to buy the cars that the ruling class wants them to drive. There’s a big problem here, though – the grid won’t be up to the task of keeping tens of millions of electric vehicles charged.
The headline from a Bloomberg story last week summed up the plan: “Biden Set to Crack Down on Auto Emissions to Accelerate EV Sales.”

And since I read history, I know about 100 years ago when we were also going to fix Haiti. Now, our garbage ruling class is on the verge of demanding we try to fix Haiti yet again. Spoiler – you can’t fix Haiti. And it’s not worth one single American life trying to.
That’s not to say Haiti isn’t a mess and that we shouldn’t provide some humanitarian aid. Look, Haiti had it hard from the beginning.

Donald Trump has locked up the necessary delegates for the Republican presidential nomination, which means it's time for every political junkie's favorite quadrennial game: Veepstakes!
Every four years, commentators, political consultants and elected officials all chime in with their takes on who a presidential candidate's running mate should be. Perhaps the candidate ought to select a veep from a swing state. Perhaps the candidate ought to select someone who fits a certain demographic box. Maybe the candidate ought to pick someone with a very similar political philosophy -- or perhaps someone whose ideological bona fides assuage any lingering concerns

These days, finding a poll with good news for President Joe Biden and his fellow Democrats is harder than finding a politician in D.C. without their hands in your pockets. A recent survey found that most Americans can clearly see what the slew of indictments against former President Donald Trump is about, an issue that could spell trouble for Biden’s chances of winning reelection. The survey, conducted by McLaughlin and Associates, revealed that most respondents believe Biden is using the government against Trump through the justice system to skew the outcome of the upcoming presidential election.

Democrats tried and true tactic when their policies failed and Americans abandoned them: blame Donald Trump.
And it was no exception for Democrat Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson who claimed Trump supporters are the reason his homeless policy was rejected by voters.
Johnson’s progressive agenda failed Wednesday night after 53.7 percent of Chicagoans voted against his homeless referendum, compared to 46.3 percent who were in support of it.
The Democrat claimed that the same people who voted against his policy were “the same people who want to see Donald Trump … be president again.”

There are innumerable superseding indictments against Sen. Bob Menendez (D-NJ). The New Jersey Democrat found himself fighting for his political life when federal agents raided his home, finding gold bars and over $400,000 in cash strewn about the residence. Some money was tucked into clothing. Menendez was also charged with failure to register as a foreign agent of the Egyptian government. Now, Qatar is in the mix. [Tweet]
Menendez has survived previous corruption charges, but the never-ending stream of evidence filed against him has led to his colleagues mostly abandoning him. The gold bars appear to be the straw that broke the camel’s back.

But federal officials investigating the first son's tax affairs were summoned to CIA headquarters in Langley, Virginia, and told them that Morris was off-limits to them.

The Biden administration’s push for electric vehicles (EVs) is exacerbating the country’s inflationary woes by driving up the price of auto insurance, Breitbart Economics Editor John Carney said in a Thursday interview with Fox Business host Larry Kudlow.

HOUSTON — President Joe Biden made a stop in Houston on Thursday.
The president arrived just after 11:50 a.m. at Ellington Field and was greeted by Houston Mayor John Whitmire and Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo before heading to River Oaks for a private fundraiser.
Before his stop in Houston, Biden went to two fundraisers in Dallas. “There’s the old saying, ‘Why rob the banks? That’s where the money is,'" said Rice University Political Science professor Mark Jones. "In Texas, the money is in Dallas and in Houston.”
However, Jones believes the money will be spent almost entirely outside Texas.
“This is not about trying to flip Texas," he said.
