M. Emmet Walsh, the wily character actor who became an audience favorite for his deliciously despicable performances in such films as Blood Simple, Blade Runner, Brubaker and The Jerk, has died. He was 88.
Walsh died Tuesday in St. Albans, Vermont, his longtime manager, Sandy Joseph, told The Hollywood Reporter. The cause was cardiac arrest.
With his distinctive lumbering form and droll delivery, Walsh was an ideal supporting player. A master of off-kilter comic delivery and dogged edginess, he excelled at roles that dwelled in the darker corners of humanity. No matter whom he played, he made a colorful impact.

Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-China) became the latest Democrat to get burned alive today in the House of Representatives.
As Jim Hoft reported earlier, The House Oversight Committee is holding its second hearing as part of its impeachment inquiry into White House occupant Joe Biden and there have been plenty of fireworks.
Earlier, Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) was caught on camera pouting like a baby while former Hunter Biden business partner Bobulinski read him and Rep. Dan Goldman (D-NY) the riot act for lying on behalf of the Biden Crime Family.

Goldman said, “In fact, the prosecutor general in Ukraine was not prosecuting Burisma, was not prosecuting corruption. And so, his removal was bad for Burisma because the next prosecutor general came in and then did investigate Burisma.”

Donald Trump is seriously considering Florida Senator Marco Rubio as his running mate, according to a new report.
NBC revealed on Thursday that it had spoken with "six people familiar with the presumptive Republican nominee's search for a 2024 running mate" and that Rubio is now a serious contender. The outlet reported:
"The list is long, and it's extremely early in any kind of process," one Trump adviser said. "No one has been directly reached out to yet, and I do not expect that for some time."
But Trump's apparent seriousness about Rubio, a 52-year-old, third-term senator, hints at the former president's priorities

Palm Beach, Florida — Former President Donald Trump, the presumptive Republican nominee for president in 2024, lit up his general election opponent Democrat President Joe Biden in an exclusive interview with Breitbart News for lies Biden told during the State of the Union about the bipartisan Senate immigration plan scuttled earlier in 2024.
“It would have exacerbated the problem,” Trump told Breitbart News of the Biden-backed bipartisan Senate immigration plan. “It would have made it worse. And they allowed five thousand people a day. Those are numbers nobody’s ever heard of.”
Trump is exactly correct in that the plan would have codified the entry of thousands of migrants a day

Let's just face it. In addition to the incoherence and the mental deterioration that we see from Joe Biden, he has horrible policies and he's just not very bright. As Barack Obama's Secretary of Defense Robert Gates said, Biden had gotten foreign policy wrong for forty years. Add ten more years on to that and it's still true. But it's not just foreign policy, as we've seen. Biden has horrible domestic policy as well.
As Biden proved on Wednesday, he couldn't do something as simple as filling out his NCAA women's basketball brackets without an embarrassing problem.

American taxpayers' money is ending up in the hands of the Taliban, according to a U.S. government watchdog, which found that bundles of cash flown into Afghanistan by the United Nations are finding their way to the country's central bank.
The latest report by the Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction found that the U.N. has delivered more than $2.9 billion in cash since the extremist group took over in 2021. President Trump just notched a legal win that may shed some light on the bizarre decision made by the judge in the Big Fani dismissal case. In a moment that felt suggestive in a “wink and a nod” kind of way, Judge McAfee not only granted Trump a substantial triumph but also opened the door for rectifying his own unjust ruling by approving Trump’s appeal request in Georgia. It appears as if McAfee wanted to wash his hands clean and defer to a higher court, almost as if he was encouraging Trump’s team to seek an appeal and give Big Fani the bum rush right out the door.

The Biden administration finalized a rule on Wednesday that’s expected to make a significant amount of the new car market electric or hybrid.
An administration official told reporters Tuesday that under the new rule, 56 percent of the new vehicles on the market in 2032 could be battery electric, while an additional 13 percent could be plug-in hybrids. That’s up from a collective 16 percent of sales being electric and hybrid cars last year.
The rule is a cornerstone of the Biden administration’s climate agenda, as the cars and other light-duty vehicles it regulates currently make up about 17 percent of U.S. planet-warming emissions. The rule also regulates medium-duty vehicles.

Nevada hasn't voted Republican in a presidential election since 2004. I have to admit that I'd nearly given up on the state, as hopes of being competitive there have been repeatedly shattered. But Donald Trump appears to be in a solid position to win it in November. He's led in the RealClear Politics average in Nevada since early November, with an average spread of +4.3 points. In 2020, Trump never led Biden in the RCP average there. Something has definitely changed. Naturally, Democrats have to be worried. Even though Nevada only has six Electoral College votes, those are six votes that could make Trump's path to 270 much easier.

The first story is about the death of the constitutional separation of powers and the demise of executive privilege that, since the days of George Washington, has helped facilitate effective presidential decision-making. The second is about the alarming success of lawfare and the partisan weaponization of our now dual system of justice.

Who knows if President Biden is as “angry and anxious” about his re-election prospects as a new NBC News report portrays him?
It could be that it’s ordinary ill temper from a politician prone to shouting in private (an Axios headline not too long ago dubbed Biden “old yeller”) or exaggerated reports from meetings where typical salty language is used by old political pros hashing out strategy and tactics.
According to the piece, an anonymous lawmaker said Biden began “to shout and swear” when told the Gaza war has hurt his standing in key swing states.

Hours after the Supreme Court gave Texas officials permission to jail and prosecute migrants suspected of crossing the U.S. southern border without authorization, an appeals court late Tuesday blocked the state from enforcing its controversial immigration law known as SB4.
In a late-night order, a 5th Circuit Court of Appeals panel dissolved a pause that it issued in early March to suspend a lower court ruling that found SB4 to be unconstitutional. The order reinstated a ruling from U.S. District Court Judge David Ezra, who concluded in late February that SB4 conflicted with federal immigration laws and the Constitution.
