Joe Biden certainly takes the cake for nerve.
He's done nothing about the border crisis that he helped to create by his own decisions, starting from the day he came in. Then in January, he started trying to blame the Republicans for the problems, saying they needed to pass a terrible bill before he could do anything, that he didn't have the power, when all he has to do is enforce the law. He announced on Monday he would be going to the border. We're in the election season, and it looks like Biden finally realized that he was getting creamed on the border issue in the polls.

In 1892, Lord Alfred Bruce Douglas, Oscar Wilde's lover, wrote a poem called "Two Loves" which referred euphemistically to "the love that dare not speak its name." At that time, homosexuals were expected to keep their sexual orientation and relationships secret. In 1986, Norman Podhoretz published a groundbreaking essay in Commentary Magazine called "The Hate That Dare Not Speak Its Name," which put the subject of antisemitism in American journalism on the public radar.
Now it's time for America to confront the Abuse That Dare Not Speak Its Name: elder abuse. And the victim is none other than President Joe Biden.

Michelle Obama has topped Gavin Newsom, Kamala Harris and Hillary Clinton in a poll of who Democrats believe could replace 81-year-old Joe Biden on the ticket if he drops out.
The former first lady's name has surfaced as a potential dramatic late entry into the 2024 race with mounting questions about Biden's age and fitness for a second term.
The 60-year-old has said multiple times she isn't interested in running for office and has admitted she is 'terrified' of the outcome of this year's election. But she still hasn't addressed recent theories that her name could be on the Democratic ticket if Biden were to leave the race.

The Houston Police Department released body camera footage on Monday, of the response to an active shooter who opened fire at Joel Osteen’s Lakewood Church earlier this month.
At 1:53 p.m. on Feb. 11, Genesse Ivonne Moreno, originally from El Salvador, began shooting a gun at the mega church before ultimately being shot and killed by off-duty police officers on the scene.
Moreno also had her 7-year-old son in tow, who was shot in the head and continues to fight for his life.
In a social media post, the Houston Police Department released video captured from the moment gunfire rang out in the western halls of the church, until the shooter was down.

In a sane world, this would be satire. Instead, Adam Rubenstein's lengthy essay at The Atlantic attempts to inject sanity into a journalism industry that has turned into a partisan cult.

Democrats may be changing their minds about former President Donald Trump ahead of the 2024 presidential election, according to a new poll.
Trump has long received low marks from Democrats, who have long opposed him on a wide range of issues including immigration, abortion rights and the economy, but a Harvard/Harris CAPS poll released this week found that Democrats' general approval of the former president has risen since he left office in January 2021.

WASHINGTON — President Biden announced Monday he will visit the US-Mexico border region Thursday after former President Donald Trump arranged his own trip there on the same day to slam Biden’s policies.
The Biden and Trump visits will follow the Friday arrest of illegal immigrant Jose Antonio Ibarra of Venezuela for allegedly killing 22-year-old Augusta University junior Laken Riley.
Ibarra, 26, allegedly crossed the US-Mexico border illegally near El Paso in September before being released into the US.
Biden, 81, made the first known visit of his career to the border in January last year after sustained criticism from Republicans over his handling of the mounting illegal immigration crisis.

Gemini, Google’s new artificial intelligence engine, has been widely mocked and exposed by conservatives and others on social media. To date, I haven’t noticed anyone serious on the Left interested in defending it.
Gemini has quite obviously been programmed by censorious and (at best) utterly incurious liberals. This is a great source of enjoyment and Twitter engagement for anyone willing to poke fun at the Left’s pieties, but it’s actually pretty educational too.
The real story here is not that Gemini is “biased,” so much as that Gemini lies to its users in a very specific way that will be familiar to many readers.

One poll out of New York shows something remarkable: More than 50% of New York’s Jews plan to vote for Donald Trump!

The reclassification is due to the use of the word Hottentots. The dated term was historically used by Europeans to refer to the Khoekhoe, a group of nomadic herders in South Africa, but is now regarded as racially offensive.

That may seem odd since the first impression that many people get is Gemini's odd preference for portraying Vikings as Blacks, Popes as minority females, and our Founding Fathers as minorities. What could be so important about that? Google will rework the algorithm and the problem will be fixed.
It likely already is. Sort of.

Police have charged Jose Antonio Ibarra with malice murder, felony murder, aggravated battery, aggravated assault, false imprisonment, kidnapping, hindering a 911 call and concealing the death of another.

We’ve now reached peak Trump Derangement Syndrome.
Democrats are actually making plans to prevent Donald Trump from taking office even if he legitimately wins the election. In other words, they are plotting an insurrection to keep the man whom they claim is an insurrectionist out of the White House. Logic, common sense, the future of the country, all be damned.
How do we know this is what they are scheming? Because, as President Joe Biden’s poll numbers continue to drop, his mental and physical health rapidly deteriorate, and options to replace him on the ballot shrink, Democrats are openly talking about it.

Fox News host Mark Levin said Sunday on his show “Life, Liberty & Levin” that Breitbart News Senior Contributor Peter Schweizer’s new book Blood Money: Why the Powerful Turn a Blind Eye While China Kills Americans was “jaw-dropping.”
Levin said, “A journalist who uncovers really seedy muck in our government and by certain populations. And Peter Schweizer. And it’s always an honor to have Peter on the program as an exclusive guest when he has a new book coming out. He doesn’t just put out books. He his books, his team does an enormous amount of research. They back it up with facts and footnotes, and it’s always jaw dropping.”

President Joe Biden, 81, was heard struggling deliver his speech clearly as he attempted to quote Abraham Lincoln at the Governors Ball Dinner.
Before a crowd of state leaders, the president, who is currently in cycle ahead of the November election, began to read off of a prepared document a quotation by the 16th president on the subject of a divided nation.

Businessman Joe Lonsdale said Saturday on CNN’s “Smerconish” that he believed there is “clearly weaponization” of the Justice Department against former President Donald Trump and Elon Musk.
Anchor Michael Smerconish said, “My next guest co-authored this Wall Street Journal op-ed with Jeb Bush under the heading, Elon Musk and Donald Trump Cases Imperil the Rule of Law.”
He asked, “I’m curious your co-author, Jeb Bush is no fan of Donald Trump. Why did he feel compelled to weigh in on this?”
Lonsdale said, “I’ve never given Donald Trump a cent either. I love America. I’ve been a lot of businesses in this country. I love building, love investing here.

One of the funniest passages in Mark Twain’s autobiography involves the effect of old age on his mental acuity: “When I was younger, I could remember anything, whether it had happened or not; but my faculties are decaying now and soon I shall be so I cannot remember any but the things that never happened.” It’s less amusing when we recall that this could have been said by President Biden — if he could string together two coherent sentences. The latest example of his ability to remember things that never happened occurred last week, when he told fundraisers that foreign leaders have warned him former President Trump threatens democracy.

France has deported a Tunisian cleric who allegedly called the country's flag satanic.
Mahjoub Mahjoubi, 52, was flown to North Africa just 12 hours after his arrest over sermons said to go against French values.
His deportation last Thursday is seen as a demonstration of tough immigration laws brought in by president Emmanuel Macron. [SNIP] The imam also referred to 'the Jewish people as the enemy' and called for 'the destruction of Western society', the indictment said.
