Former President Donald Trump endorsed Michael Whatley, chairman of the North Carolina Republican Party, to replace Ronna McDaniel as the Republican National Committee (RNC) chair with his daughter-in-law Lara Trump as co-chair.
In a statement shared on Monday, the former president confirmed previous reports that he will be endorsing Michael Whatley, touting his record in North Carolina.
The RNC MUST be a good partner in the Presidential election. It must do the work we expect from the national Party and do it flawlessly. That means helping to ensure fair and transparent elections across the country, getting out the vote everywhere – even in parts of the country

The nearly 400-page special counsel report confirms an overlap in the timing and topics of Joe Biden’s vice presidency and Hunter Biden’s ‘business’ enterprises.
The special counsel report on Joe Biden’s unauthorized removal and disclosure of classified documents exposed much more than our president’s mental deficits and the breadth of his irresponsible handling of top-secret and classified information. The report revealed a close nexus between Hunter Biden’s influence peddling and his father’s responsibilities and access to intel during the elder’s term as vice president.

Sens. J.D. Vance (R-OH), Mike Lee (R-UT), and Ron Johnson (R-WI) joined Vivek Ramaswamy and Elon Musk in an X Space on Monday for more than one hour to slam efforts to rush through tens of millions of dollars in additional funding for Ukraine’s stalemate war against Russia.
The discussion occurred before a crucial expected Monday night procedural vote on the foreign aid package. Sixty senators are needed for that vote on cloture to end debate on the bill, clearing the way for a likely Wednesday vote on final passage.
The trio of senators urged listeners to contact their House members to demand opposition to the package,

President Joe Biden refused to answer questions on Monday after his meeting with King Abdullah II of Jordan but did say the two were working on a hostage deal to bring a temporary cease fire.
'The United States is working on a hostage deal between Israel and Hamas, which would bring an immediate and sustained period of calm to Gaza for at least six weeks,' Biden said.
For his part, Abdullah called for a permanent cease-fire. 'We need a lasting ceasefire now. This war must end,' he said.Biden's refusal to speak to the press came after Special Counsel Robert Hur issued his report, which contained the politically embarrassing observation

There's some new damning and embarrassing information from the Special Counsel's report now coming out, and if it wasn't bad enough for Joe Biden before, it is now. The Hur report indicated what a complete disaster Biden was in terms of keeping and not returning classified documents. What's described here is insane, and former president Donald Trump didn't come close to any of this. RealClear Investigations reporter Benjamin Weingarten grabbed some of the most damning and concerning parts. (X)

Three multimillion-dollar homes in Southern California teeter precariously on the edge of a cliffside following a landslide over the weekend.
The collapse occurred in Dana Point, Orange County, on Friday, and sent mud and debris sliding down the 150-feet chasm below.
As of Sunday, no evacuations have been ordered, and engineering crews were assessing the structural integrity of the homes - the only three set on the cliffside. Residents of the affected properties have been advised to remain vigilant, and prepare for the looming possibility of relocation.
The three affected homes are now largely left at the mercy of Mother Nature, though rains that recently inundated the region look to have past.

By the time the Super Bowl started, it had been extensively reported that President Joe Biden had refused, for the second year in a row, to do the traditional Super Bowl interview. The conventional wisdom was that the 81-year-old president, who has granted relatively few interviews during his time in the White House and has been under intense scrutiny in the last few days for age-related cognitive problems, just could not risk a high-profile interview in his current condition. “It’s the biggest television audience — not even close — and you get a chance to do a 20, 25-minute interview on that day, and you don’t do it?”

Former President Donald Trump on Monday asked the Supreme Court to step into the charged dispute over whether he may claim immunity from prosecution, once again pressing the nine justices to resolve a question that could undermine his campaign for a second term.
Trump asked the Supreme Court to temporarily block a scathing and unanimous decision from the DC Circuit handed down last week that flatly rejected his claims of immunity from election subversion charges brought by special counsel Jack Smith.
“Conducting a months-long criminal trial of President Trump at the height of election season will radically disrupt President Trump’s ability to campaign against President Biden,” Trump’s attorneys wrote in their request.

Today is the anniversary of the birth of America’s great or greatest president, Abraham Lincoln. As a politician and as president, Lincoln was a profound student of the Constitution and constitutional history. Special counsel prosecutors have produced to Donald Trump a sealed exhibit about threats to a potential trial witness after the federal judge overseeing his prosecution for retaining classified documents ordered the exhibit turned over despite the prosecutors’ objections, people familiar with the matter said.
The exhibit was a point of contention because it detailed a series of threats made against a witness who could testify against the former president at trial, and the matter is the subject of a criminal investigation by a US attorney’s office. Prosecutors had wanted to withhold it from Trump’s lawyers.

It is hard to destroy a naturally beautiful city like San Francisco, with ideal weather and stunning infrastructure inherited from far better earlier generations.
Yet San Francisco continues its much-publicized and self-inflicted doom loop. The productive classes still flee the increasingly crime-ridden city and its self-induced pathologies. The city is eroding not because of the doomsayers and not because of what people say about San Francisco, but because of what San Franciscans have done to San Francisco. In 2023, more than 40,000 crimes were reportedly committed in San Francisco. The great majority of the perpetrators were either not arrested or never jailed, indicted, or convicted.

One of the reasons that Joe Biden is doing so badly in the polls is that the American people regard him as a failure when it comes to securing the border. Meanwhile, former President Donald Trump does much better on the subject because people believe he would do a better job than Biden. They believe that with good reason, because Trump did do a better job. That's made the Biden team and Democrats desperate to change that equation. That's why they were salivating to have the talking point of Republicans rejecting a border bill so they could try to claim that it's the Republicans who don't want the border secure.

City cops are getting beaten at a record-setting pace — a disturbing and dangerous trend fueled by radical protests, an influx of criminal migrants, bail reform, anti-cop rhetoric and soft-on-crime prosecutors, experts told The Post.
The number of cops hurt by suspects surged 20% in 2022, when 4,724 uniformed officers suffered injuries in attacks, compared to 3,933 in 2021.
But the law enforcement nightmare grew worse last year, when 4,077 cops were hurt by suspects in just the first nine months of 2023 — on pace for a record-breaking 5,436 injuries, the latest NYPD stats show.
The data for the last quarter of 2023 has not been released.

With the stunning report by the Justice Department suggesting that President Joe Biden is not mentally fit enough to face charges for mishandling state secrets, it’s now become an open question: Does that mean Biden isn’t mentally fit to be president? Americans are overwhelmingly worried that the answer is no, the latest I&I/TIPP Poll shows.
Mere days before the release of a blockbuster government report that indicated Biden’s age-related mental decline is real and not just a partisan talking point, the I&I/TIPP Poll asked American voters: “President Biden is seeking a second term. How would you rate his mental acuity?”

Some called it the “Rave at the Nave,” but others use terms like “sacrilege” to describe two ’90s-themed silent discos held at one of the United Kingdom’s oldest cathedrals. (snip) Canterbury Cathedral, where St Thomas Becket was martyred just next to the nave, is hosting a “90s Silent Disco” over two nights Feb. 8-9. 3,000 people expected to take part. Faithful are protesting against the event with prayer vigils outside (snip) Appeals to the history and sanctity of the cathedral did not sway church leadership, who insisted that the revelers be allowed to discover Canterbury “on their own terms.”

Former President Donald Trump released a Super Bowl ad on Sunday ripping former Gov. Nikki Haley in South Carolina markets.
The ad contrasts Trump’s and Haley’s positions on Social Security, and Haley’s attempt to rewrite her position on raising the retirement age. Trump said he has no plans to touch Social Security. “Under no circumstances should Republicans vote to cut a single penny from Medicare or Social Security,” he said in January 2023. The ad begins with a clip of Haley’s position, with a referee calling her claims false.

In light of the terrible week Joe Biden had, it was inevitable that the media would try to drum up some fake controversy about Donald Trump. In fact, they happily obliged by grossly distorting comments Trump made during a campaign speech in Conway, South Carolina, on Saturday. "Former President Donald Trump on Saturday said he would encourage Russia to do 'whatever the hell they want' to any NATO member country that doesn't meet spending guidelines in a stunning admission he would not abide by the collective defense clause at the heart of the alliance if reelected," reported CNN.

For decades, Westerners were deeply concerned about South African apartheid. The pressure the West put on that nation finally led to apartheid’s end in the early 1990s. However, a new and very ugly apartheid movement is emerging in South Africa, and no one in the West seems interested in talking about it. This time, it’s whites who are in the crosshairs, and genocide is on the menu, with a radical black communist party poised to become the majority in South Africa’s Parliament.
While the end of apartheid was ripe with promise, the fly in the ointment was always going to be communism. Thanks to the non-stop communist rule of South Africa’s

The worst kept secret in Washington is the President’s accelerating cognitive decline. Yet, when special counsel Robert Hur’s report on Biden’s mishandling of classified documents made note of this obvious fact, the White House responded with outrage. Hur opted not to bring charges against him for several reasons, including how a jury trial might play out: “Mr. Biden would likely present himself to a jury, as he did during our interview of him, as a sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory.” This led to a hastily called news conference, during which a semi-coherent Biden shouted at reporters as if they were attempting to take away his car keys.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Hollywood is experiencing a disastrous winter. People aren’t going to the movies, opting instead to stay home. Obviously, part of the issue is streaming, which has upended the old business model. However, one cannot ignore the fact that today’s movies are awful, whether because they’re mechanical, recycled garbage, or because they’re preachy, painfully woke garbage. Watching a couple of movies from 51 and 50 years ago, respectively, will help you appreciate just how bad most modern movies really are.
Here’s the news from The Hollywood Reporter:
Domestic box office revenue year-to-date of $581.2

Do you really think the bizarre angry-old-man cane waving performance of President Non Compos Mentis demonstrates his fitness for office?
Because after that politically disastrous news conference in the White House is where we are now.
Biden is no longer mentally fit to be commander-in-chief. He’s an empty husk. I told you he was a meat puppet years ago. Last week, on national television, he proved it.
The world is on the edge of war. China is pushing us in the Pacific, Iran pushes us across the Middle East. Russia is taking Ukraine, despite our war party’s best effort to bring us to the edge of world

Conservative Republicans have managed to defeat the fake border security bill wrapped in a political ploy inside of a Ukraine bailout bill. Of course, no Republican should have ever imagined that giving open-border Democrats everything they asked for was a smart strategic position, but that’s what they very nearly did.
Republicans had already passed a real border security bill within a few months of taking control of the House of Representatives following the 2022 midterm elections. HR-2 actually secured the border – by demanding that the Biden administration finish the border wall, ending Biden’s power to process aliens

According to the report released last week by Special Counsel Robert Hur, Joe Biden has a long history of mishandling classified material.
Witnesses told Hur during the course of his year-long investigation that as vice president, Biden routinely took classified files and did not return them as required. “Mr. Biden was known to remove and keep classified material from his briefing books for future use, and his staff struggled--and sometimes failed--to retrieve these materials,” Hur disclosed in the special counsel’s damning 388-page report.

RAFAH, Gaza Strip — A series of Israeli strikes early Monday hit Rafah, the city on the southern edge of the Gaza Strip where 1.4 million Palestinians have fled to escape fighting elsewhere in the four-month Israel-Hamas war. Israel has been signalling its ground offensive in Gaza may soon target the densely populated city on the Egyptian border. On Sunday, the White House said U.S. President Joe Biden had warned Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that Israel should not conduct a military operation against Hamas in Rafah without a “credible and executable” plan to protect civilians.

A special force of the Israeli military conducted an overnight mission and rescued two Israeli hostages held captive by Hamas in the southernmost Gazan city of Rafah, IDF officials said early on Monday.
The two hostages, identified as Fernando Marman, 61, and Louis Har, 70, were found to be in good condition and were transferred for medical examination to the Sheba Tel Hashomer hospital in Ramat Gan in Israel, officials told Haaretz. Marman and Har had been kidnapped from the Nir Yitzhak kibbutz during the October 7 attacks.
Forces from the Israel Security Agency, the Israeli police, and the IDF conducted the operation around 1 a.m. local time, a joint statement
