Former President Donald Trump endorsed Michael Whatley, chairman of the North Carolina Republican Party, to replace Ronna McDaniel as the Republican National Committee (RNC) chair with his daughter-in-law Lara Trump as co-chair.
In a statement shared on Monday, the former president confirmed previous reports that he will be endorsing Michael Whatley, touting his record in North Carolina.
The RNC MUST be a good partner in the Presidential election. It must do the work we expect from the national Party and do it flawlessly. That means helping to ensure fair and transparent elections across the country, getting out the vote everywhere – even in parts of the country

Nepotism is never a proper choice. I sincerely hope this co-chair choice is rejected. Nice person, but also ensures a dynasty going forward which is not consistent with our constitution.

Whatley is a terrible choice. He has done election fraud no good in NC.He actually used election fraud in the NC GOP Convention last year to get re-elected as Chairman. He allowed use of a phone app by the convention members to vote him in that office in violation of GOP rules. All convention voters must be in the room to vote for officers. The phone app made it legal to be anywhere. He also killed debate on budget items. Whatley is a Tilliss crony and Chamber of commerce crony. If you watch Tilliss senate votes you will see RINO issues and no border security and amnesty. Whatley is a huge rino. And he will stab Trump every chance he gets. Tillis did.

Don’t know him but I appreciate the information from Poster #6. I am suspect after reading that. All these choices regarding personnel must be given a lot of thought. I would rather see someone new than someone who has been around a while. I also just don’t care for Lara being named co-chair. While I trust her I just believe it would be better to keep the family out of the process.

LOL. The RNC is Trump's personal piggy bank at this point.
Meet the new Boss, same as the old Boss.

I appreciate #6's intel and I'm hoping this isn't another start to DJT's bad personnel choices. And I was always hoping it would be Harmeet or Scott Presler.

If Romney can have a relative running the RNC (into the ground), how about a Trump helping to run RNC properly?
Works for me.

Our #2 is right. Lara is not Kimberly G. She is MAGA from head to toe. I am not sure about this Whatley but Lara Trump on hand to SEE TO. it President Trump is not sabotaged by the RNC as has been going on six years now. Lara Trump was an outstanding move for co-chair.

#6,#8,#11,#13~ For whatever it’s worth, the North Carolina GOP withdrew a lawsuit challenging the procedure used in 2023 to elect Mr. Whatley to another term as party chairman. The North Carolina GOP leadership filed a motion to dismiss the case “in its entirety because Plaintiffs lack standing to bring this action,” wrote attorneys representing the state party. “Additionally, Plaintiffs’ Complaint should be dismissed for failure to state a claim upon which relief can be granted, as Plaintiffs’ Complaint, on its face, fails to establish the necessary elements for any plausible claims as alleged.” [https://www.carolinajournal.com/state-gop-leadership-lawsuit-ends-as-plaintiffs-drop-appeal/ -- “State GOP leadership lawsuit ends as plaintiffs drop appeal” -- January 16, 2024]
As informational, Mr. Whatley served “as a federal law clerk, on the Florida Recount Team for George W. Bush’s recall effort, as a senior official in Bush’s administration and as chief of staff to former Sen. Elizabeth Dole.” [https://dailycaller.com/2024/02/07/michael-whatley-donald-trump-could-replace-ronna-mcdaniel-rnc-chair/ -- “Who Is Michael Whatley, The Potential Frontrunner To Replace Ronna McDaniel As RNC Chair?” – February 7, 2024]

#14. Did Whatley allow the use of phone app for the voting of the leadership during the NCGOP Convention? Dont the NCGOP rules say that the voting delegates must be present in the Convention to vote? Was the phone app that was used to vote Whatley back in allowed to be used outside of the Convention hall ....like maybe from the bar or golf course or back in their hotel room?

#15~ Comments posted for #14 were based on the content of what was reported by the Carolina Journal news website and surmising that if the North Carolina GOP withdrew the lawsuit, the NC GOP had to have reason for doing so. In response to the questions in #15, it appears that at least three individuals believe the rules were violated and their adherence to wanting rules to be followed is admired and respected. Without question, people of faith want integrity to prevail in every aspect of life, but people of faith realize that life is not perfect and there are times when it is necessary to weigh the effort of winning a battle or losing a war. At this crucial point in America’s future, it is sincerely hoped that all factions within the GOP (local, state, national) can come together and do its best to save this country as founded—in God we trust.
