As Cristina Laila reported earlier – President Trump appeared in court on Wednesday as E. Jean Carroll testified in a trial where the jury will decide how much Trump has to pay for his so-called ‘defamatory’ statements about her.
Judge Lewis Kaplan, a Clinton appointee, previously ruled that Trump is liable for defamatory statements he made about E. Jean Carroll after she accused him of rape.
In 2019, E. Jean Carroll alleged Donald Trump raped her in a Bergdorf Goodman dressing room in the 1990s.
Trump has denied the allegations and called E. Jean Carroll a “whack job” who’s “not my type.”

Senator Tim Scott (R., S.C.), who dropped out of the 2024 presidential race in November, endorsed former president Donald Trump at a New Hampshire rally Friday night, four days before the state’s Republican primary.

Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC), the ranking member of the Senate Banking Committee, wrote to the Biden administration on Friday, blasting them for their alleged “flagrant violation” of Americans’ privacy.
Scott wrote his letter to Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen and Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) Director Andrea Gacki about reports that the Treasury Department provided materials to financial institutions instructing them to search and filter Americans’ banking information using “politically charged terms” such as “Trump,” “MAGA,” and other words. This includes terms that would indicate the legal purchase of a firearm, the purchase of religious books, and subscriptions to media containing “extremist views.”

The Georgia RICO case against Trump might go off the rails because of Fani Willis’ ‘improper’ relationship with and *financially benefitted* from a top Trump prosecutor she hired.
As previously reported, Fani Willis had an ‘improper’ romantic relationship with Nathan Wade, a top Trump prosecutor in her office. The stock market keeps scaling new heights as investors focus on the good and ignore the bad, no matter how bad the bad parts might look sometimes.
Prospects for a slowing economy, geopolitical unrest and turmoil in Washington aren't scaring market participants largely because none of those threats have turned into much in reality.
What instead has taken center stage is an economy performing remarkably well, inflation pulling back and a run of positive developments in Big Tech that has outweighed any what-ifs that the market has had to endure.

WASHINGTON, - U.S. consumer sentiment improved in January, hitting the highest level in 2-1/2 years amid growing optimism over the outlook for inflation and household incomes, which bodes well for the economy's prospects this year.
The better-than-expected reading in sentiment reported by the University of Michigan on Friday reflected a brightening of moods across all age and income groups, education and geographical locations as well as political affiliation. It suggested that Americans were finally warming up to the economy's resilience after much anxiety over high inflation, which has weighed on President Joe Biden's popularity. After 12 years of wandering in the wilderness of the D.C. court system, Michael Mann’s defamation case against Mark Steyn and Rand Simberg has finally gone to trial. Opening statements were delivered today. (Snip)
The case, as you likely recall, arises out of an internet post written by Simberg, which Steyn quoted and added a few comments to. The two posts drew a parallel between Jerry Sandusky, the disgraced Penn State’s administration in what amounted to a cover-up. Steyn described Mann’s famous hockey stick temperature chart–accurately–as fraudulent. Mark fired his lawyer some time ago and elected to try his case pro se.

Former Attorney General Eric Holder said Thursday on MSNBC’s “The ReidOut” that “American democracy could end with the election” of former President Donald Trump.
Holder said, “I think a second Trump term, and this is something voters need to keep in mind, a second Trump term would have a politicized, weaponized United States Department of Justice.” He continued, “You have to look at what it is they’re talking about. That is the Trump campaign, the former president himself and think of the America they’re trying to create. You would have a president who is beyond the reach of the law,

Good grief — it’s been over three months, and writers are still expressing shock, surprise, and outrage that Muslims murdered, mutilated, raped, and tortured Jews on 10/7. (Snip) Because it will happen again, I suggest the following to prevent future shock, surprise, and outrage.
First, recognize the cause of 10/7. Although it is comforting to believe that Hamas, a specific group in a relatively small area, was the cause of 10/7, this is incorrect. The snarky among you will quickly respond that Hezb’allah and Iran were also responsible. This is also incorrect. The correct answer is that Islam was the cause of 10/7.

As the press and its political allies dismiss opposition to open borders and its inherent 'replacement theory' as little more than 'white supremacy,' something different is happening out in America's inner cities.
Charlamagne Tha God (the name he goes by) hosts the nation's top radio program with black audiences, and far from hearing white supremacy talk regarding the border issue, is hearing black voices that have had it up to here with open borders. According to Fox Digital:
During an interview with Fox News Digital, Charlamagne was asked whether he viewed the issue of immigration as a major factor ahead of November.

The polar vortex gripping the nation has exposed a fatal flaw in President Joe Biden’s push to force Americans into electric cars. EVs don’t work well in the cold.
Several news stories out of Chicago this week report how EV owners have been struggling to keep their cars charged as extreme cold saps their batteries of energy, extends charging times, and forces owners to wait for hours to get an open charger.
“Several motorists told local news outlets that they had been stranded at charging stations in the cold with cars with dead batteries, while successful charging was taking far longer than usual.

Three former attorneys general, including Bill Barr who is not even supporting Trump in 2024, have filed a brief insisting that Trump is constitutionally qualified to appear on the ballot.
This move comes as a response to the efforts in Colorado, Maine and other states where leftists have sought to remove Trump from the 2024 ballot.
The argument of these former AGs was drafted with the help of law professors and is rock solid.

The intrigue over who Donald Trump will pick to be his vice president on the 2024 Republican ticket he's presumed to be leading is growing. A recent report placed Rep. Elise Stefanik, a moderate House member from New York, near the top of the list. Then there's Nikki Haley, who has reportedly been under consideration for a while, even as she remains in the primary race. On that front, when the Trump campaign had a chance to put the Nikki Haley issue to bed once and for all, they chose not to, instead only ruling out Vivek Ramaswamy.
What that says is that the former president's closest advisors

A group of 17 retired military officials is warning that Joe Biden’s hard push for electric vehicles is putting America’s national security at risk.
Among their chief concerns is that EVs increase America’s reliance on China, but there are other potential problems as well.
Biden and Democrats have been actively working to destroy the fossil fuel industry since the moment Biden took office. They are beholden to the climate change activists of their party’s base who are absolutely obsessed with the issue.

The quaint Maine fishing villages that inspired Jessica Fletcher's beloved Cabot Cove could become dystopian, crime-ridden hellholes like San Francisco or Portland if progressive Maine lawmakers get their way.
Members of the state legislature on Wednesday spent four hours debating whether to decriminalize all drugs in the Pine Tree State.
Under the scheme proposed by Democrat representative Lydia Crafts even possessing heroin and cocaine would not be considered a criminal offense. Money spent on enforcing drugs laws would instead be directed to healthcare as part of a so-called 'harm reduction' strategy.

In Davos the masters and servants of the globalist elite gather: characters who openly declare that they want to reduce the world’s population through wars, famines and organized pestilence; characters who use the complicity of our rulers, international institutions, and especially high finance and media, which are totally in their hands. How would Our Lord have spoken to the Sanhedrin of criminal subversives at the World Economic Forum? [Snip] Not what Bergoglio said, surely. And this proves once again that the Argentine Jesuit is a servant of the globalist elite: whether he does it out of self-interest or due to blackmail matters little.
